Chapter 1634 - Chapter 1629: Yveltal Awakens!

"Aim at that deserted island in the sea," Cain said, pointing at a barren island in the middle of the ocean, completely devoid of vegetation. It was obvious at a glance that there were no people nor any Pokémon there, making it a perfect target for testing.

Moreover, that island was neither too large nor too small.

When the energy concentrated to its maximum, that dark violet color could faintly be distinguished even among the clouds.

Boom!

The entire aerial fortress suddenly shook, and a violet beam shot forward.

It pierced through the clouds and headed directly toward the deserted island at a terrifying speed, disappearing in an instant like a streak of light.

Suddenly, Cain and Alva, observing from the window of the fortress, saw the violet beam strike the island. At first glance, it seemed as if no reaction had occurred.

The beam had appeared quickly and disappeared even faster.

But one second later...

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!!!

The entire island was instantly shattered, and a mushroom-shaped cloud rose into the sky. Then they could see how the fragments of the already destroyed island vaporized into a gray mist.

At the same time, in the sea surrounding the island, a massive crater suddenly appeared, and enormous quantities of seawater evaporated instantly.

The vapor, mixed with rock and soil from the island, rose into the sky and formed that mushroom-shaped cloud.

Alva stared at the island with his mouth open, watching as it completely disappeared in an instant under the attack of the aerial fortress.

Making an entire island vanish out of nothing was no longer something an ordinary Pokémon could accomplish.

"W-what destructive power... so... terrifying..." Alva murmured.

A wide smile appeared on Cain's face. Only such destructive power was worthy of what this aerial fortress should be.

And moreover, since this was the first time Magearna controlled the aerial fortress, she was still somewhat unskilled, so the power displayed in this attack was far from her true maximum. If she were to unleash her full strength...

"You did very we—"

Cain turned to look at Magearna, but before finishing the sentence, he noticed an anomaly in her.

He hurried to stand in front of Magearna and saw that her body was trembling slightly, and the amplitude of that trembling was increasing more and more.

Alva's expression changed violently. He rushed to Cain and said, drenched in cold sweat, "M-Mister..."

"Be quiet!" Cain interrupted him before he could continue speaking.

Cain did not have time to deal with him and allowed Alva to remain there, trembling in fear.

Because at that moment, Magearna was undergoing a shocking transformation.

And that transformation would affect her entire life.

Cain flipped his hand, and that special vial appeared, the one that at the time had served a function similar to the one used on Aggron and Lucario. He had not given it to Magearna back then, saying he would wait for an appropriate opportunity.

And now was precisely that perfect moment Cain had spoken of!

Approaching Magearna, he said softly, "Here, Magearna. Drink this dose. It will help you greatly."

With Cain's support, the trembling Magearna slowly drank all the contents of the vial.

Immediately afterward, a large amount of violet light burst from her body and enveloped her completely.

Seeing that scene, Cain's expression also became slightly excited.

But immediately afterward, Cain changed his mind, took out several Poké Balls, and released all of his Pokémon. Under his orders, Tyranitar and the others surrounded Magearna.

At the same time, in Tyranitar's gaze toward Magearna, enormous astonishment appeared, as if he were witnessing something completely inconceivable.

...

Elsewhere in the Kalos region.

In an unknown forest, a Pokémon with the lower half of its body black, the upper part blue, and horns on its head that spread out like the tail of a peacock, filled with brilliant colors, while in its eyes there were cross-shaped symbols.

Moreover, the horns on its head continued to spread endlessly, and each small branch of the antlers displayed different colors.

Xerneas, the god of life.

It raised its head toward a certain point in the sky of Kalos, and a look of surprise appeared in its eyes.

"The Fairy-type energy is surging, but it is not that Pokémon from before. It is an existence even older than her... I did not expect it could reach this point. It is truly admirable. But... it has chosen quite a bad moment."

"I hope I can make it in time," Xerneas thought silently, and began to run in that direction, advancing in great leaps.

And at the other end of the Kalos region, within a forest filled with withered trees.

Right at the center of that forest was a massive crater, and within the crater there was a large pool. Only, the water of that pool was strange: completely dark red.

Then, a round object, similar to an egg, emerged from the pond.

If someone were very familiar with the history of Kalos, they could immediately pronounce the name of that egg: the Cocoon of Destruction.

And the Pokémon sleeping within that Cocoon of Destruction was precisely the one known as the god of destruction, or the god of extermination: Yveltal.

The egg began to crack from the center, and from its interior emerged a dark red Pokémon with the appearance of a gigantic bird.

Yveltal is a Pokémon similar to a large avian creature. At the joints between its wings and tail with its body, there are three spikes that extend outward.

On both of its wings and on the large tail it carries behind it, there are five claws growing along the edges, three of which curve inward.

Yveltal's skin is primarily red, inlaid with black branching patterns. Its head and neck display a similar pattern.

Yveltal has a sharp snout resembling a beak, and black antler-like horns that extend from above its blue eyes. One part curves sharply forward, while the smaller tips extend backward. A collar of gray ring-shaped feathers surrounds its neck and extends along its back.

It has small but powerful claws similar to bird talons. Like the rest of the lower parts of its body, the skin of its legs is red with black patterns, while its nails are gray.

Each foot has two toes facing forward and one facing backward.
