Chapter 44 - The Lungs Belong to Metal!

Rose Hotel.

As the largest hotel in Soto City, when Yun Chuan was looking for a place to stay in Soto City, he naturally set his eyes on this hotel at first glance. Of course, Tang San and the others didn't seem to have arrived yet at this time, but he didn't care. After casually booking a room at the front desk, he took the key and walked toward his own room.

Gently opening the door, the interior was quite luxurious and elegant — a suite.

Looking around, finding nothing wrong, Yun Chuan pulled all the curtains closed, then took out that head-sized crystal from his soul guidance device and placed it on the table. Gently stroking the uneven surface of the crystal, feeling the rune at his glabella tremble slightly, he recalled the introduction of this crystal in the original work.

This crystal was the most precious type of rutilated quartz. Rutilated quartz meant that under certain natural conditions, influenced by external forces, golden thread-like objects would form inside the crystal — these golden threads were called crystal hair or golden hair, like the crystal's hair. No matter what color the crystal originally was, as long as there was one single strand of crystal hair inside, its value would surpass the finest natural crystal. Crystal with such golden hair was called rutilated quartz.

And the one before him was the rarest type — a plate-formed rutilated quartz, the top grade of rutilated quartz! Because normally, the crystal hair inside rutilated quartz was chaotic and sparse, only rutilated quartz formed over extremely long time spans would have many crystal hairs. When the amount of golden hair reached a certain level and gathered into golden plates, it was called plate-rutilated crystal.

Because of the enormous and orderly amount of golden hair inside, plate-rutilated quartz was considered the pinnacle among rutilated crystals.

Yun Chuan examined the crystal on the table. Although its surface looked dirty, if you looked closely, you could see golden light faintly shining inside — the golden plate was only covered by impurities on the outside. He remembered the original said there were tens of thousands of golden threads inside!

Such a miracle could only appear in a crystal that had existed for at least 100,000 years. Something like this — forget two thousand gold coins, even two million gold coins would be worth it to some people.

"This thing is a great hidden weapon, but I don't play around with these flashy tricks... why is the rune at my glabella reacting to this?" Yun Chuan rubbed the uneven surface, puzzled.

"Forget it, let's take out the golden hair first." Yun Chuan placed his hands on the crystal, soul power surged out, wrapping the entire crystal. Then he pressed down!

Boom!

A muffled thunder-like sound.

The crystal shattered, and a strange scene appeared — countless golden points of light surged out from the plate crystal, but fortunately, he had already wrapped a soul power barrier around it, so none of the golden points escaped.

After a moment, when it felt calm, Yun Chuan removed the soul power barrier. At once, a pile of golden fine sand — or golden grains — lay on the table.

Each grain was even in size, similar to rice grains, round, giving off a faint golden glow. Yun Chuan picked one up and squeezed it — it was slightly soft but extremely elastic, impossible to flatten.

"What's so special about this?" he wondered, but the rune at his glabella trembled more violently. A faint pulse spread out — then he suddenly sensed something different.

Strangely, looking at the golden grains…

Yun Chuan felt a surge of hunger!

This thing… could be eaten?!

The instinct guided by the rune told him so, making him uncomfortable.

Because this wasn't candy — it was a curled-up needle! Once soul power was injected, these golden grains would turn into Dragon Beard Needles!

If he ate this and accidentally activated soul power later, wouldn't he be stabbed from inside out?!

"To hell with it!"

After hesitating, Yun Chuan chose to trust the rune. It had never harmed him, and if he didn't inject soul power, the thing shouldn't hurt him.

He swallowed one golden grain.

"Huh?!"

With eyes closed sensing inward — the grain melted into a warm current and flowed into his lungs.

After absorbing it, he felt like something new appeared in his body.

"It really can be absorbed!"

Shocked, he grabbed a handful — hundreds — and swallowed them.

The warm currents gathered in his lungs, and his physical strength increased by at least one percent instantly.

More importantly, absorbing them affected his whole body — organs were part of the body, so affecting one affected all.

"What if I eat all of it?"

Excited, he poured everything into his mouth.

Warm currents filled his lungs.

He felt his body strengthening rapidly — defense, toughness, endurance rising.

His lungs also seemed to undergo a mysterious change.

"This feeling…"

He raised his hands — his nails suddenly grew, long golden claws like pure gold blades — terrifying.

He lightly scraped the marble table with his fingers—

Slice.

Five clean penetrating cuts appeared, showing the carpet below.

"So sharp!" he gasped. He hadn't used soul power or strength — the nails cut automatically!

This power didn't feel like soul power — it felt like some attribute energy, able to cut everything!

"This power… from the lungs. The lungs belong to metal — is this Geng Metal power?" Yun Chuan guessed, recalling cultivation novels. Rutilated gold was sharp metal, breaking hard defenses. Absorbing it gave Geng Metal attribute — acceptable.

"This looks like armor-piercing power." With a thought, the nails shortened back to normal flesh color.

He sensed his skin toughness, bone density, physical strength all increased. And this metal power could attach to things — even his attacks — gaining armor-piercing.

He took a brush, focused, attaching the metal power to it. It glowed faintly gold.

He lightly scraped a table corner—

Crack!

A chunk fell off.

"It works!" Anything with this power would strengthen and become sharp.

"With Geng Metal power, my close-combat methods are richer!" He imagined attaching it to fists, knees, etc. — the damage would be terrifying.

"These special metal minerals are crucial for my growth — like soul bones to soul masters." he murmured. Thinking of rare metals, a place came to mind — the Capital of Metals, Gengxin City!

That place held the most precious metals in the world.

He must go there someday.
