Chapter 386: If You Can't Do It, That Just Means You're Not Suffering Enough
Normally, Rin lived inside Obito's Kamui dimension. But occasionally when time permitted, to let Rin "have fun," Obito would push Rin in a wheelchair, taking her out for "tourism" across various locations.
Obito treated it like dates with Rin. Each time he'd build a wood release cabin, then carefully prepare various gifts for Rin, coaxing her to be "happy."
Whether Rin felt happy remained unclear. But Obito seemed to thoroughly enjoy playing house.
This was his only connection to this cold world—the sole, pathological light in his dark existence.
This day, Obito once again went on a date with Rin.
As always, Obito built their "love nest," letting Rin wait at "home" like a returning wife. He arranged summoned beasts to guard their safety, then went out "hunting" to prepare new gifts for his beloved.
The isolated mountain valley. The exquisite wood release cabin. The fenced small courtyard. Perfect sunshine.
This should have been another quiet yet twisted "happy" afternoon Obito wove for himself and Rin.
However...
"Rin, look what good things I brought you."
Obito returned madly from outside carrying gifts he'd painstakingly prepared, wanting to present treasures to his beloved. But the moment he stepped into the small courtyard, his body immediately froze.
In this secluded, quiet courtyard—Rin, who should have been lying on the long chair sunbathing—had now become a pile of mangled flesh.
That body, already severely ravaged, had now been deliberately, brutally destroyed—as though to completely pulverize all fantasies Obito had projected upon it.
Blood covered the ground, dyeing even the wildflowers beneath the outer fence completely through.
Most jarring was that separately "placed" head—its features relatively intact—wearing that eerie yet peaceful smile of release, as though saying: finally, it's completely over.
The summoned beast that should have been on guard duty had already been skewered by wood release like a pincushion—couldn't be more dead.
"NOOO!!!"
Obito screamed. The flowerpot cradled in his hands slipped free, shattering on the ground—just like his broken heart.
"Rin!!!"
Obito wailed, staggering toward that blurred pile of bloody flesh. His hands trembled, seeming to want to touch yet not daring. Ultimately they merely hung futilely in midair.
Throughout this period, Obito had constantly indulged in the illusory dream he'd constructed—using false "happiness" to numb everything, using "devotion" to Rin to fill the emptiness and sin within his heart.
Every "date" proved another deeper escape from reality.
But now, the dream shattered. Painful reality struck again—more cruel than any genjutsu.
The world before Obito's eyes seemed violently crumpled, inverted, and spun by an invisible giant hand.
Colors faded, leaving only glaring blood-red and despairing darkness.
Reason's thread—witnessing Rin's remains and that liberating smile—completely snapped.
That fragile world constructed from lies and madness was, in this moment, shattered completely in the cruelest way.
What remained—only blood covering the ground, a desecrated corpse, and a soul whose every support had been hollowed out, approaching total madness.
"AHHH!!!"
Obito clutched his head, screaming madly. The chakra in his body completely lost control. His half-White-Zetsu-transformed body exploded thunderously into countless branches.
These branches—with Obito as center—burst outward radially in all directions, indiscriminately destroying everything within range.
Trees, rocks, fences, cabin remains... instantly pierced, torn, ground to pieces.
Only that small blood-stained ground where Rin's corpse lay—protected by some twisted instinct—miraculously remained unharmed, like an island in the storm's eye.
Obito knelt at that "island's" edge, half his body broken, exposing internal twisted wooden structures and writhing White Zetsu tissue—utterly demonic.
"Why?!"
"Why is this happening?!"
"Everything was fine—how did Rin suddenly die?
"Who killed her?
"WHO?!
"Come out!
"I'll kill you!
"I'LL KILL YOU!"
Roars echoed through the empty valley. Only his own echo answered—adding more despair and violence.
Obito's already somewhat mad face twisted beyond human recognition. The Mangekyo in his Sharingan spun frantically. Blood tears flowed uncontrollably.
The pain and madness in his eyes rapidly transformed into towering, unplaceable killing intent.
He desperately needed a target now—something to bear all his pain, hatred, and madness as an outlet.
Already chaotic eyes scanned wildly across the empty ruins—as though enemies hid in the very air.
He roared violently, wildly swinging fists and feet. Like a beast who'd lost its cub, venting pain through the most primitive means.
Almost instinctively, vast chakra—like breached floodgates—surged madly from his broken body, instantly sketching bones, sinews, armor in the air.
A towering blue giant condensed within breaths, following his movements to randomly strike at sky and earth.
This giant's form seemed unstable, slightly twisting and fluctuating with Obito's chaotic emotions. Yet the power it contained proved genuinely destructive.
BOOM!
The instant of impact, earth released the most muffled wail.
Rock beneath the fist crumbled easily like fragile crackers—destroyed utterly.
Centered on the fist, ground surged violently like waves—arching, then exploding thunderously.
Spiderweb cracks instantly spread hundreds of meters. Massive rocks were thrown skyward, shattering mid-flight.
Dust, debris, mixed with remains previously pulverized by wood spikes—combined into a murky dust column dozens of meters in diameter, shooting toward heaven.
Smoke and dust pervaded, obscuring sunlight, making this valley resemble apocalypse's descent.
Susanoo appeared and vanished within the smoke, continuously swinging massive arms—smashing ground, smashing mountain walls, even randomly swinging toward the sky, releasing silent, pain-filled roars.
Each attack shook heaven and earth yet couldn't shake internal pain one bit.
A hundred miles away, Black Zetsu watched the earth-shattering transformation there, laughing triumphantly. The setbacks suffered from Yasushi eased considerably.
Right!
"Hahahaha...
"As expected, Obito is easier to guide!
"I shouldn't have believed that bastard Yasushi's nonsense back then. Should've helped Obito eliminate Yasushi.
"Look, Obito still has potential!
"Since Madara and Yasushi both awakened complete Susanoo, today's Obito has no reason he can't do it.
"If he can't do it, that just means he's not suffering enough!
"As long as we help him, he'll definitely return a miracle to us."
