Victor dodged the attack, and Enel was shocked. Akainu's Red Dog truly lived up to its name, using any means necessary to achieve his goal.
During the attack, Akainu's magma-infused arms unleashed the Dog Bite Red Lotus and the lightning-fast Hades Dog. While it seemed he was attacking Victor continuously, his actual intent was to kill Enel, who was recovering, in one blow.
Akainu had already fought Enel before and knew his power. If Enel regained strength, he'd be trouble, not to mention Victor. Akainu wanted to eliminate as many threats as possible.
"Phew! That was close! Captain, it seems what you said is true. The Blue Sea is really dangerous!"
Victor's quick reaction disrupted Akainu's sneak attack, allowing Enel to barely escape and create distance to recover.
As long as he regained strength, he could join his captain in fighting this Red Dog.
Enel himself didn't realize he now said "Captain" naturally.
