FAIZ's Star-Shattering Armor instantly deactivated, and the world-destroying aura around him dissipated.
His motorcycle reappeared beside him.
He looked at his body and hands, knowing there was no carbon-based flesh and blood.
Yet, why did he feel a rise in temperature?
Recalling the thrilling battle with Darkseid just now, where every second was a dance on the edge of life and Death, he found himself addicted to the feeling of such combat, even deep down yearning to continue fighting Darkseid.
Why would he have such a thought?
"System self-check initiated."
Data streams flashed rapidly through FAIZ's visual unit like a surging river.
"Self-check initiated. System normal. Minor wear of 0.001 detected on the machine body, already repaired… Warning!"
FAIZ reacted incredibly fast.
Acceleration mode…
Bang!
A large gray hand grabbed FAIZ's head from behind and slammed him violently into the ground.
The Earth seemed to have been struck by a heavy hammer, and countless cracks, like a spiderweb, rapidly spread out from FAIZ's impact point, forming a massive crater.
Vroom! Vroom!
The roar of an engine suddenly erupted. The motorcycle, parked not far away, instantly started, its front rapidly transforming to extend a sharp ramming horn, speeding towards Darkseid.
Omega Beam.
But Darkseid merely lifted his eyes slightly, and two deadly Omega Beams shot out, the red light precisely hitting the motorcycle. In an instant, the motorcycle was blown to pieces, its parts scattering everywhere.
Laser Cannon, activate!
FAIZ's back armor opened, revealing two cannon muzzles.
Hiss!
Two laser beams, reaching 8000℃, shot towards Darkseid's chest like two enraged Fire Dragons.
But Darkseid extended his other hand and directly blocked FAIZ's cannon muzzles. Under his immense strength, the muzzles were forcibly destroyed, sparks flying everywhere.
"Tool, no, FAIZ, I truly almost lost this time. That you could achieve this much is enough to be proud of. I've changed my mind. I will transform you into my weapon!"
Darkseid's deep voice echoed above him.
FAIZ remained silent.
His quantum brain was frantically calculating a way to escape.
If other parts were grabbed, FAIZ could abandon them to escape, even the energy core. But not his head; the quantum brain was where his consciousness resided.
"Escape probability 0.03%. Suggest seeking help from the Great Demon King."
Rejected!
"Detonate energy core. Quantum brain has a 0.03% chance of survival."
Activate!
The energy core began to operate.
Just at this critical moment.
"Let him go!"
Hawkman, wielding a massive hammer, charged towards Darkseid's head like a cannonball, striking with full force.
Darkseid expressionlessly caught the hammer.
He violently slammed Hawkman into the ground to keep FAIZ company.
"Hey, fatty, look here!"
A green train crashed into Darkseid. The moment it hit him, it was as if it had struck an indestructible mountain, instantly shattering into pieces, with train car debris flying everywhere.
Martian Manhunter and Shazam appeared before Darkseid.
Two powerful fists slammed into his face, making his head twist.
Dr. Fate flew into the air, and a giant symbol of life appeared in his hand.
Clang clang!
A series of sounds. Five symbols of life locked onto Darkseid's various joints, restricting his movements.
"Kcalb!"
Zatanna also continuously used her backward magic to weaken his power.
Victor continuously fired his chest-mounted cluster cannon at Darkseid, each beam leaving charred marks on Darkseid's body.
"Enough, you insignificant insects!"
Red light gleamed in Darkseid's eyes, about to obliterate all these superheroes.
"Die!"
Flash, carrying Wonder Woman, appeared above Darkseid. The Godkiller Sword pierced Darkseid's left eye.
"Ahhh!"
Darkseid screamed for the first time.
Wonder Woman was about to stab into his brain.
Omega Beam!
A single red beam shot towards Wonder Woman overhead.
It was incredibly fast. Diana only managed to block with her silver bracelets.
Bang!
The bracelets exploded, and Wonder Woman was thrown backward by the force.
However, Martian Manhunter and Shazam seized this opportunity and successfully rescued FAIZ.
Flash caught Wonder Woman and brought her back to the team.
They stood ready, wary of Darkseid, as countless Parademons once again surrounded them in the sky.
"Your mission is not this. He is for me to handle."
FAIZ stood up and said coldly.
"Hey, you're quite arrogant. We saved you, after all. At least say thank you."
Green Lantern was somewhat displeased.
But he also admitted that the other party had the right to be arrogant.
The clouds in the sky, stirred up by the Star-Shattering Cannon, hadn't dissipated yet.
"Dealing with Darkseid is my mission. Your mission is to deal with the Parademons."
FAIZ said, still calmly.
"While I don't know how the Demon King configured you, you should consider teamwork."
Wonder Woman said.
FAIZ began to recalculate the win rate.
"Weapon storage repair time 25 minutes. Solo win rate 3%…"
"My data shows a team win rate of 37%, but a Death rate of 88%. You will die."
FAIZ stated truthfully.
"Then did you include me?!"
A voice came from the sky. A red figure passed through the Parademon swarm and charged directly towards Darkseid.
Bang!
Superman slammed Darkseid fiercely into the ground, then pushed him, sliding him wildly across the surface, leaving deep grooves.
Immediately after, two crimson Heat Vision beams shot from Superman's eyes, hitting Darkseid's face.
For a moment, smoke filled the air.
"Kryptonian!"
Darkseid punched him away. He was surrounded by Parademons, but he quickly eliminated them and returned to the team.
"Win rate 41%, Death rate 47%."
"Close to half. If I command, I can raise the win rate to about 50%."
Richard, along with Batman, had also arrived.
"Demon King, I have failed."
FAIZ came before Richard.
"You haven't failed. I merely had you deal with Darkseid to test your performance, not to defeat him."
Richard said, looking at FAIZ somewhat strangely. Emotional colors, previously absent, were now present in his consciousness.
Though very faint, they had indeed appeared.
He had only been born less than an hour ago.
It was important to note that when creating FAIZ, he hadn't added any personality or emotional components; he was completely a blank slate.
But he had developed colors on his own.
Was it because of Cyborg's body?
Or did combat facilitate the birth of a soul?
"Forget it, I don't understand. I'll experiment later, perhaps?"
Richard thought for a long time but couldn't figure it out. He looked at the superheroes before him, all exhausted and scarred, except for Batman and Superman.
"I'll take care of it next."
"Brother Richard, we can still fight!"
Flash said.
The others also looked at him with determination.
Richard's mouth twitched, and he quickly waved his hand in refusal.
"NO! I will absolutely not team up with the Justice League."
The Justice League's number of total defeats was among the highest of all organizations.
Darkseid's injuries had mostly recovered, though his one eye wouldn't heal as easily.
He stood up again, looking at these tiny humans, his anger burning like a raging Fire.
He had conquered countless Planets and killed countless lives, yet he never imagined he would suffer such a major setback on this small Earth today.
