The church's spire, like a black blade, pierced the night sky.
Two groups of people, on two adjacent rooftops, gazed at each other from afar.
The air, at this moment, solidified.
"Heh."
Tony Stark broke the silence, his voice from beneath his faceplate, amplified, carried a hint of amusement.
"Looks like Team B has arrived."
From the shadows opposite, a tall figure emerged.
Luke Cage.
His arms were crossed, his muscles bulging his jacket.
"Stark." His voice was deep and powerful, "We're not here to cause trouble for you."
"We're here to bring our friend home."
William ignored their conversation.
If a fight broke out, his and Tony's win rate was ninety-three percent.
But the cost would be three more blocks in Hell's Kitchen needing rebuilding.
This was not the optimal solution.
"Your 'friend' is now the new head of a terrorist organization."
William's voice came from beside Tony.
He took two steps forward, standing at the edge of the rooftop.
"Just an hour ago, he orchestrated a murder, targeting Moon Knight."
"He succeeded. Although Moon Knight is still alive, his soul has been completely shattered."
"So, don't talk to me about 'bringing a friend home.'"
"This isn't a friendly gathering; this is a threat elimination operation."
"You have no right to decide Matt's fate!"
Elektra, holding her twin sai, took an attack stance.
"I do not have the right to decide." William looked at her calmly, "But I have the right to decide yours."
Before he finished speaking.
Elektra suddenly felt a tightening around her wrist.
She looked down, and a cable as thin as a hair had somehow wrapped around her wrist.
The other end of the cable was connected to the "foolproof plan" on William's left arm.
Elektra's pupils contracted, and she tensed her wrist, trying to break free.
But the seemingly fragile cable remained motionless.
"Don't bother." William's voice came, "Its tensile strength exceeds twenty tons. Or, do you want to try the electric shock function on my armor?"
Danny and Luke immediately stepped forward, the atmosphere becoming tense.
"Calm down."
Tony raised his hand, the energy cannon in his palm flashing with dangerous light.
"My friend is just demonstrating his 'insurance policy.' I suggest you cooperate.
"Otherwise, my 'insurance' isn't very friendly."
"Now, can we talk?" William released the nano-cable.
Elektra pulled back her hand, a faint red mark left on her wrist.
She did not act impulsively again.
"You want to save him." William continued, "I want to control him and eliminate the threat. Our short-term goals are not in conflict."
"We can cooperate. But the command must be in my hands."
"I need command."
Luke and Danny exchanged glances.
They had no choice.
"Alright." Luke said in a deep voice, "But if possible, we need to ensure Matt's safety."
"I can only guarantee that I will prioritize non-lethal options." William gave an ambiguous answer.
Just as this fragile alliance was forged.
"Creak—"
The heavy doors of the Gothic church below slowly, silently opened.
A black figure, step by step, emerged from the profound darkness of the church.
"You, have made me wait too long."
That voice, piercing the night wind, clearly reached everyone's ears.
Calm, deep, yet with a hint of arrogance.
Matt Murdock.
He didn't look at anyone, just tilted his head slightly, as if feeling the breath of this city that belonged to him.
In front of the church.
Daredevil turned his face, covered by a black mask, towards Danny Rand's direction.
"Iron Fist."
His voice seemed to directly strike one's soul.
"Kunlun's last hope. Look at you, still entangled with mortals for these meaningless 'friendships.'"
Danny's fist instantly ignited with a golden glow.
"Matt! Turn back!"
"Turn back?" Matt sounded as if he had heard a joke, "I have never seen so clearly as I do now. The decline of Hell's Kitchen is not because of sin, but because of you so-called heroes, weak and inefficient."
His "gaze" then turned to Luke Cage.
"Hero of Harlem. Do you think holding one block will bring peace? You are just patching up a tattered sandbag. True peace requires an Iron Fist."
Under Luke Cage's bulletproof skin, his muscles tensed.
"That's not peace, that's tyranny!"
