Chapter 309 - The Tenth Simulation Begins!

309. The Tenth Simulation Begins!

On the way back, it was obvious to anyone with eyes that Luna Kindred was even more affectionate towards Yun Ling than before, clearly indicating that something had happened between the two.

But how could Bronya and Zhuge Kongming know?

Zhuge Kongming maintained her mature demeanor, waving the feather fan in her hand, her eyes occasionally lingering on Yun Ling, as if she were constantly plotting something.

Bronya, on the other hand, was pondering where to keep her extremely rare, limited-edition Homu doll.

It was a pity she hadn't been able to fight Yun Ling, but if she had, she really wasn't confident of winning.

"Prepare to land," Yun Ling reminded the group.

The group slowly stood up, and Yun Ling manipulated his sword energy to land smoothly on the ground.

"I had a lot of fun with Ling today," Luna Kindred said softly, holding Yun Ling's hand.

"Me too," Yun Ling replied, seemingly savoring the taste of ice cream.

"Well... goodbye and goodnight," Luna Kindred said reluctantly, parting from Yun Ling.

Anyone who didn't know better would think it was a farewell to the dead.

"Goodnight, get some rest," Yun Ling said with a light laugh.

Just as Yun Ling was about to return to his dormitory, Bronya suddenly tugged at his sleeve.

"Yun Ling, wait."

"What? You're going to miss me, too?" Yun Ling teased.

Bronya didn't speak, but simply took a huge plush toy from her backpack.

"This is for you." Bronya placed the Hola doll in Yun Ling's hands.

"It's a return gift for the ticket, don't overthink it," Bronya explained.

"Understood. But Bronya actually remembers I like Hola… I only mentioned it briefly." Yun Ling took the Hola doll.

Compared to Homu, Hola had a more ferocious aura, its scars a symbol of bravery.

"I'm leaving." Bronya waved expressionlessly and left.

Yun Ling placed the Hola on the bedside table, then took a shower and lay down on the bed.

After a long absence, the tenth simulation finally arrived.

"Let's begin."

Yun Ling closed his eyes.

『Random Talents generated... Please select four talents from the following list.』

1. 『Dragon Among Men (White): Dual gender, innate male-female divine body.』

2. 『Beyond Yin and Yang (White): Born without gender, you are what you think you are. Walmart shopping bags and armed helicopters are your choices.』

3. 『Under the Rainbow (White): You may associate with the same sex.』

...

Yun Ling refreshed twice and got a red talent, so he prepared to start simulating it.

1. 『Bookworm (White): Reading makes you happy.』

2. 『Blue Capsule (Blue): Pass through 0-30 years old safely.』

3. 『Ten Deaths Without Survival (Purple): You were destined to die at birth.』

4. 『Body of Tribulation (Red): Each tribulation you experience makes you stronger!』

Hmm, one is just filling a spot, one is exploiting a bug, one is for boosting ratings, and the last one is for reinforcement.

Perfect!

If he can get a rating above Peerless this time... then he can get a second red talent.

『Random Identity: Herrscher!』

"Wait, what?" Yun Ling felt like he had misheard. Before he could even react, the system had already put him into hibernation mode.

『Tenth Life Simulation, Begin!』

...

You were born.

『Ten Deaths Activated.』

You died.

『Blue Capsule Activated.』

Eh! You didn't die!

Thirty years passed in a flash. Carl felt his life had been somewhat hazy, like a dream.

Carl shook his head and continued reading.

From a young age, he loved reading and studying; he felt restless if he didn't study for a day!

"A new professor joined the school today. I heard she's a stunning beauty. Aren't you going to see her?"

The professor, who was quite close to him, asked.

"A stunning beauty? Forget it, I'll just keep reading. Beauty is in the books," Carl said, resting his chin on his hand.

"You…sigh, never mind." The professor rolled his eyes.

"Aren't you going?" Carl raised an eyebrow at him.

"Have you forgotten I already have a girlfriend?" The professor's eyebrows twitched.

"That's a shame," Carl said expressionlessly.

"No shame at all!"

If he didn't know Carl's temper, he would have punched him right now.

Before he knew it, he was reading late into the night again. The seat next to him was empty; the person was nowhere to be seen.

"That guy, Elias, didn't call me again."

Carl stretched, tucked the book between his fingers, and planned to read it again when he got back.

The campus was quiet late at night. Students had long since gone home, and only a few couples could be vaguely seen lingering on the streets.

"Tsk."

Carl hated seeing scenes like this; the stench of romance.

Maybe he should go back a little later and look at the stars on the rooftop first.

Carl slowly withdrew his foot from the teaching building and turned to walk towards the rooftop.

The rooftop was usually sparsely populated, but today it seemed to have an unexpected visitor.

She raised her snow-white neck, gazing quietly at the glittering stars in the sky, then slowly lowered her head back down to the ground.

This was the highest point on campus, offering a panoramic view of the entire school.

"Excuse me, it's almost curfew, aren't you going back?" Carl kindly reminded her.

The figure visibly trembled, seemingly startled.

Turning her head, she was disheveled...that might be an exaggeration, but she was certainly not clean and tidy.

Her hair was messy and unkempt, and her deep blue eyes held a hint of languor.

"I'm Professor Carl Gustav of the Mathematics Department."

Seemingly afraid of startling the other person, he revealed his identity.

"I haven't seen you on campus before. Are you a freshman?" Carl continued to inquire.

The woman pursed her lips, seemingly thinking of something amusing.

"My name is Emma Planck, and I haven't been at this school long."

"Even being a freshman is no excuse for breaking curfew. You should probably head back now." Carl reminded her.

It wasn't that he was rigid; it was just that the school rules were absurd. Last year, a freshman had been warned for violating curfew.

"I'm just here to adjust to the time difference, so I have no intention of going back," Emma said playfully.

"Alright." Carl nodded, cutting to the chase.

Then he moved to another spot to admire the starry sky.

"Professor Carl…right? You love stargazing too?" Emma had somehow appeared beside him.

"I wouldn't say I love it. Books probably attract me more than stars," Carl replied.

"However, stargazing always makes me feel small and motivates me to keep moving towards my goals."

"That's an unexpected answer." Emma smiled faintly.
