(KRYSTAL'S POV)
I'm starting to get hungry.
Like, really hungry.
I didn't even realize it at first, but now that the feeling's there, it's all I can think about. My stomach keeps growling, and I'm just about to get up and figure out if I'm supposed to go somewhere or wait or when a knock lands on my door.
"Come in," I call out.
The door opens and one of the female servants steps in with a polite smile.
"Dinner is ready, miss."
Oh, finally.
I nod, returning her smile. "Thank you."
She gives me a small bow and steps out, closing the door behind her.
I exhale slowly as I glance around the room.
Okay. Dinner with the Vipera family.
My stomach twists again, but this time it has nothing to do with hunger.
I've been here for less than a day and they've been treating me like I'm some kind of princess—my own room, servants, everything handled before I even think to ask—but none of that changes the fact that I have absolutely no idea what I'm walking into right now.
