"So you approve of Alexis?"
"Yes, she has the potential to be a high level duelist. And to be honest no one has anything to use against my Synchro deck, so she didn't have a chance from the start."
What Akiza said was true. Her ace monster was basically a nuclear weapon, clearing everything on the field.
Only a deck that would utilise the graveyard could have a chance against it, which no one did in this Academy, except Ryoken and Zane with certain cards.
"I can vouch for Alexis, she won't be dragging us down." Zane remarked.
Ryoken didn't argue with either of them and accepted Alexis into the Arc dorm.
"Sorry to interrupt you guys, but when is it my turn?"
The trio turned to see the owner of the voice, belonging to a silver haired boy.
"You must be Aster phoenix..." Zane muttered, recognising the boy in front of him. He already was a pro duelist yet had decided to attend Duel Academy.
"Hey it was supposed to be my turn!" Another boy yelled, frustrated that Aster had cut him in the line.
"And this one is Chazz, a promising and talented first year duelist of the Blue dorm."
Ryoken looked at the two boys in front of him, a nostalgic smile appearing on his face. Both were Jaden's rivals and friends, and part of a few people that actually had some use.
He was thinking of proposing a tag duel, but decided against it since then he couldn't duel either of them with their full power.
"How about this, Zane you take Chazz and I'll take Aster. Akiza you can rest and watch."
Akiza gave a nod and went to sit on a bench, whilst looking at Aster intently, making him shiver.
She was going to spend some time with her beloved Ryoken, and now he was busy dueling another person.
"Sure, I don't mind it. I've been waiting for a chance to test the new Cyber deck."

It was decided that Zane and Chazz would duel first, after that Aster and Ryoken would take the field.
The reason for this was so that Ryoken could see the progress that Zane had made with the addition of Cyberdark cards to his deck.
"Duel!"
Turn 1

Main Phase 1
"I'll go first. I activate Cyberdark Claw effect from my hand, I discard it to add a (Cyberdark) spell or trap card to my hand! I add Cyberdark Realm."
"I normal summon Cyber Dragon Core."

"When summoned, I can add a (Cyber) spell or trap card to my hand! I add Cybernetic Horizon."
Zane added the said card before playing the next one "I activate Cyberdark realm! With its effect I add Cyberdark Cannon."
"I discard Cyberdark Cannon to add a (Cyberdark) monster from my deck to my hand! I add Cyberdark Horn."
"I set two cards and end my turn."
Turn 2
Draw Phase
"I draw!" Chazz stated loudly as he drew.
Zane LP: 4000 (3 Cards)

"I activate the spell card Frontline Base! Once per turn I can special summon 1 level 4 or lower union monster from my hand! I summon W-Wing Catapult in the attack position!"
W-Wing Catapult 1300ATK/1500DEF
"Then I normal summon V-Tiger Jet!"
V-Tiger Jet 1600ATK/1800DEF
"I activate W-Wing Catapult's effect, I can equip it to my V-Tiger Jet and it gains 400 Attack and defence points."
V-Tiger Jet 1600 + 400 -> 2000
"Battle phase, V-Tiger Jet attacks your Cyber Dragon Core!"
"Trap card activate, Defense Draw!" Zane held his arm out as his trap card rose from set position "The damage I would be recieving from this battle is 0 and I can also draw a card."
Whilst he managed to protect his life points, his monster wasn't safe and Cyber Dragon Core was destroyed.
"I activate Quick-play spell card Combination attack, I can re-summon my equipped Union monster. Appear once again W-Wing Catapult!'
W-Wing Catapult 1300ATK/1500DEF
V-Tiger Jet 2000 - 400 -> 1600ATK
"Also My V-Tiger Jet can attack again! Attack him directly!"
Zane once again stopped Chazz's advance by activating another set card "I activate my trap card, Cybernetic Overflow! I banish Cyber Dragon Core from my graveyard and destroy your V-Tiger Jet."
Chazz gritted his teeth as not only Zane had stopped his attack again, but also destroyed his monster too.
"W-Wing Catapult attack him directly!"
Zane LP: 4000 - 1300 -> 2700
He sighed in relief as his attack finally managed to deal some damage "I set a card face down and end my turn."
Turn 3
Draw Phase
Zane drew the top card of his deck, upon seeing it his lip twitched upwards, hinting that he had drawn the card he wanted.
It wasn't anything weird since he did always get the cards he wanted. Heart of the cards they say...

Chazz LP: 4000 (1 Cards)
Main Phase 1
"I activate the spell card I added to my hand last turn, Cybernetic Horizon. I send a copy of Cyber Dragon and Cyberdark Edge to the graveyard. Then I can add one (Cyber) Card from my deck to my hand, I add Cyber Jormungardr to my hand."
He took out the two mentioned cards and put them in the graveyard pile of the duel disk, before adding Cyber Jormungardr to his hand.
"Additionally I can also send one (Cyber) fusion monster from my extra deck to the graveyard, I choose Cyber End Dragon."
At the mention of his ace monster, Chazz's expression stiffened. He knew there was no way Zane would toss away his ace monster like that.
"I activate the spell card Overload Fusion! I can fusion summon a dark machine monster by banishing its materials from my hand, field and graveyard! I fuse Cyberdark Edge, Cyberdark Keel, Cyberdark Horn, Cyberdark Claw and lastly Cyberdark Cannon! Go fivefold fusion!"
The five monsters of the Cyberdark archetype fused together in the vortex of Polymerization to create Zane's newest addition to his deck.
Cursed parasites become one to bring forth endless Darkness! Fusion Summon! Appear, Level 10! Cyberdarkness Dragon!"
Cyberdarkness Dragon 2000ATK/2000DEF
Unlike the Cyber End Dragon, the new ace monster of Zane had a much darker aura, its body being a mix of the five monsters that were used to summon it.
"Cyberdarkness Dragon's effect activates, when summoned I can choose a Dragon or Machine type monster from my graveyard and equip it to this card, this card also gains that cards attack points! I equip Cyber End Dragon to it."
Cyberdarkness Dragon 2000 + 4000 -> 6000ATK
"6000 Attack points? It even surpasses Ryoken's Mementoal Tecuhtlica - Combined Creation!" Chazz said, baffled by the attack points of the new monster.
Yes, Ryoken's Combined Creation had become a scale of comparison for duel academy students.
If someone summoned a monster with 2500 attack points, they would compare it with his Medea, The Queen of Chaos and if one summoned a monster with 3000 attack points, they would say it has the same attack points as Ryoken's Envoy of the Beginning.
That was the effect and impact he had made in the Academia. There was no one in academia that didn't know of his power.
"Since author's glazing is finished, I proceed to the attack phase! Cyberdarkness Dragon attack his monster and crush it! Dark Revolutionary blast!"
The attack hit the poor W-Wing Catapult and destroyed it, making Chazz crash to the floor roughly.
Chazz LP: 4000 - 4700 -> 0
[Zane Wins!]
Ryoken clapped his hands, applauding Zane's performance "It seems you got the hang of it now huh?"
Zane nodded "I can see what you meant when you said the Cyberdark archetype holds great potential for me and my Cyber Dragon deck."
Ryoken looked at Chazz, who was passed out from the attack. It seemed like the combined attack of 5 spirit monsters was too much for him.
"So what's your opinion on him?" He asked, curious about what Zane thought of Chazz.
"He's decent. He has access to lots of expensive cards. Other than that, he used a good strategy in his second turn. A third rate duelist would have used both monsters to fusion summon, which would have been pointless since it wouldn't be able to deal any damage thanks to my trap cards effect."
"I agree with you. He used one as a union to power up his monster, then used his spell to gain two more attacks. If it weren't for your trap cards he would have OTK you."
"I don't want to intrude on your talk, but I'm still waiting for my turn." Aster said, his duel disk ready to opt.
"Alright, let's duel then."

Next chapter obviously going to be about Ryoken and Aster. How to end the duel is already in my mind, still I want to hear your opinions on the deck he uses.
It's definitely going to be a Hero deck, but I wanted to know which one you prefer. A Hero deck mainly made around Evil Hero Archetype (still has a few elemental Heroes), or a Hero deck made around Masked Heroes (No Evil Heroes will be used). Might toss in a few vision Heroes in both decks.
