ELENA POV
"Absolutely not."
Damien's voice was flat. Final. The way it used to be when he gave orders he expected to be obeyed.
We were in the facility's conference room me, Damien, and Adrien. Mom was resting upstairs, still weak. We'd just told Damien about Adrien's plan.
He was not taking it well.
"It's too dangerous," Damien continued. "You'd be walking into Brighton's house. The man who's been trying to kill you for months. It's suicide."
"It's calculated risk," Adrien corrected calmly. "And it's our best opportunity to get the what we need."
"Best opportunity?"
"I can't believe you are deliberately leading her into the lion's den"
"She'd also be surrounded by two hundred campaign donors and supporters," Adrien countered. "He can't kill her in front of that many witnesses. It's the safest place to confront him, actually."
"Confront him?" I interjected. "I thought the plan was to sneak into his study, not confront him."
