Chapter 43 - Schedules

"BB, thank you. I know you're hard on me, but you took me in after all."

Sugar had become far more thankful for the world around him, though, who wouldn't when they have too little time to live?

"Any pretty words for Uncle Scotty?"

Lia, Sugar, and BB were completely alone on the ship. They left everyone else back on the island and planned on going back when they had a means of settling this bucket list. It felt almost haunted, the Tempest Tide.

"Well, lad. What's something you've always wanted to do? Do you want to go skiing? I always wanted to go skiing."

He thought for some time, he had wanted almost everything this world had to offer. He didn't care for stability. What do I want?

"How about we start with the usual, prom night. Then we can move from there."

None of the girls at the private orphanage had found the tricky little guy to be that smart or attractive. Though, he didn't care that much for them. But one girl he did care about was the girl named Lia. She was the apple of his eye. Every time she walked by on deck, he couldn't help but say hello or offer her something like some of his lunch. She was the only woman on board and the only woman that the young man saw outside of stuff he smuggled on bored from the last month. So, he slowly built a relationship with her. That was how he worked, slowly. Dials would've called him a fool, but everyone was a fool to Dials.

"Alright, we can get you some new clothes. Can't take you out on the town looking like that."

They quickly returned to the beaches and picked up everyone before they went and found themselves at the lands known as New Chicago. Sugar's neck hairs stood up. Somewhere in his mind he silently confirmed to himself that this place was haunted. Lia was given a dress of black color and with wolf fur on it. Wolf fur on dresses was something usually reserved for special occasions in the Yorkshire family. Their surname usually switched between Yorkshire and York depending on who you ask.

"How do I look?"

Sugar's skin was beginning to crawl and sweat began to go down his forehead. Though, he had been a young man of many brave shades, love wasn't one of them. He was absolutely terrified. Lia liked him and he liked her, but this isn't one of those love stories that people watch during the holidays. Life doesn't have happy endings.

"Like a million bucks come on. We're still behind on schedule."

"Hey, I have a question for you, if you don't mind me asking."

"Yeah?"

Scott was thrown into a sudden halt by Sugar as the dictator was partially considering not even paying for the suit and just running away with it.

"Wouldn't it be a little weird with it just being me and her in there? Like, we don't know any other kids."

Scott had gotten an idea in a split second. Some form of self-praise was spoke by his subconscious.

"Not a problem. Just have the doc tell me where we're going to be holding this prom and I'll bring in some background dancers. Yeah... that's what we'll call them."

"I don't like where this is going."

With no time to spare, Scott was off. After Sugar found a payphone and left a small message to the doc, Scott detained a broad group of individuals in between the ages of thirteen and eighteen. It had no real meaning to Scott as Sugar and Lia were only fourteen. He was once like Sugar, then he got adopted from the orphanage. Something that was deserted by him was the fact that over the few days that he'd lost his memories; he was in a dream like state and had relived the worst day of his life so many times over. It was a horrible time that he would never wish upon another. That time was when his family was butchered whilst he listened from the bathroom.
