What Corvin saw as if he needed any further reason to reinforce his ideology, his hatred of chaos, his hatred of moral rot and corruption. The cause of the very skies trembling, the heart of every person branded feeling a anger that held no bounds, the first time Corvin showed any emotion in the time people have ever followed him[1].
I. The Defiling
Nothing justified the brutally of what he witnessed. a woman close to his age bound in chains kept in a room with almost no light, only enough to provide hole but a false one. A woman tortured by man who bought her from her own father to pay a debt. Each day, each night she would be subjected to the deepest of depravities. It wasn't just torture of being hit. She suffered, cuts and lacerations to places it would hurt most but cause minimal bleeding so to ensure he would enjoy her pain longer. This official would take hot iron burning places of her body, reveling in her screams of agony. When he was done inflicting pain, he indulged himself with a just as sick act of malice. He raped her, there was no gentleness every act was for his own self serving pleasure. He didn't bother to use a lubrication, he didn't care if he she cried in pain except for taking satisfaction in his own pleasure. Every part of her violated, every orifice defiled.
This man if you could call him that was nothing more then a grotesque pig of overindulgence. Corruption and moral rot manifest into the form of a "human". Sweat dripped down his rolls of fat, saliva covering his mouth as he enjoyed his handy work against a woman of auburn hair and hazel eyes. In place of human ears rested on her head two ears of a fox, a tail extending from the bottom of heir also tied up to be extended behind her.
All of this reminded Corvin of his mother, and of how helpless his father felt. How powerless his father felt, how powerless he felt then. Not anymore more! Now he wasn't powerless, now he wasn't helpless! And so the very sky trembled, the very hearts and soul of his people could feel it. A reckoning was coming. Corvin did not hide what happened he shared what he saw to his people, how he felt about what he saw. The emotion they felt was apoplectic and Corvin felt their emotions as well, this depravity could no longer continue.
So Corvin proclaimed: Go forth my Envoy and send others across the land, share with them what we have seen and felt together! Gather ALL TO ME, all who refuse to let this stand! Who are tired of living under oppression, of when the blade shall fall, when their daughter, their wives will be taken next.
Corvin: To my Marshall, Legion Commander, and Captains your training continues to prepare for this coming siege of the market city of Pravum. Recruit every bodied man! Train them to the standards of the Raven Legion, Bless them with the Mark! For when their city falls we shall raise up another keep to spread our Obsidian Order further more!
II. Mobilization
Every man and woman began to move with a swiftness, a zeal that these people have not had in many long years. They have been given purpose, a glorious and dark purpose of order. The fires of the forge burned even hotter, the blacksmiths and Alcides himself worked with a fervor to arm the influx of soldiers that will imminently happen. Each strike of a smith to metal, even the bellows stoking the fires held a purpose to them, the metal sang and the fires roared as if alive. Garrus, Veridian and their captains began the relentless training of their men and ensuring each new soldier was honed into the perfect weapon. Every citizen built with a sense of purpose, gathered resources with purpose, and there were no idle hands to be seen.
III. Abuse
Inside her mind there was only a ember of hope remaining, there was fear and darkness. The only light she was given was a tiny window just to keep her ember of hope from dyeing. All she kept replaying was how could her parents sell her like property to one the cities highly ranked merchants. They knew what he did to the girls that he bought or took because of debts, everyone knew and yet no one ever did anything. This has been her life for years and even before this it was not as if her life was much better, her father abused her to and her mother let it happen. Her tears have long since dried up, there was no point of crying anymore it only gave that monster pleasure and wanting to see more tears.
Her thoughts were of the abuse she had endured as a child which was just as sick, just as depraved. Her own father defiled her, the two people in all the world that were supposed to protect her all but destroyed her. Yet through all this her eyes never glassed over, her resolve did not break. Her soul was still her own.
It was at the end of one of his games he inflicted upon her, after he left her for the night still covered in his fluids. She had spied a raven that betrayed greater intelligence. She knew the raven saw everything, watching everything and suddenly it flew away in a startle. It was then where that tiny window that gave her light rattled and lightning struck the sky. There was something different about that night, something that made even the heavens tremble. She didn't know what it was but she felt it on a instinctual level, something was coming, the sky a dark omen. She longed for nothing more to be free, free from the chains, and to be able to choose her path. For whom she did not know, she only hoped.
