Chapter 28 - VIL [28]

Seeing the dim, sinister smile on Alester's face, the Three Sacred Beasts inside Instructor Claire felt a chill run down their spines for some reason.

Three Sacred Beasts: Why does it feel like the opponent's even more evil than us!? Illusion, it has to be an illusion!

Uria shuddered, glanced at Alester again, and said, "I Set one card and end my turn! Come, let me see it—let me see the true strength of the so-called strongest Duelist of the previous continent!"

"Hehe, you'll see soon enough!" Alester said, waving his hand. "My turn—draw!!"

A streak of blue-white light flashed across the field, followed by a mighty roar echoing in Alester's ears.

Looking at the card he had just drawn, Alester chuckled lowly. "Oh, you couldn't wait any longer, could you? Very well, I'll let you go first then."

He raised the card high and declared, "From my hand, I activate the effect of Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju! I Tribute one monster on your field to Special Summon this card to your field in Attack Position!

"I choose to Tribute your Uria, Lord of Searing Flames, and Special Summon—Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju!"

The ground split open, and a surge of ocean water crashed across Uria's field. Within that raging torrent, a massive shadow fell, slamming down upon the crimson dragon wreathed in evil energy.

Boom!!

Roar!!

Uria's avatar was struck violently by the wave and the shadow within it. It roared in fury, spitting flames at the attacker—yet the flames, hot enough to vaporize steel, had no effect on the colossal figure.

In the next instant, Uria's avatar was engulfed by both water and darkness, swallowed whole. When the water receded, a gray-blue sea turtle stood upon Uria's field.

It had jade-green eyes, a thick shell, a sturdy tail, and two pairs of fin-like wings. Oddly enough… it looked a little cute.

The giant turtle let out a small burp, then nodded politely toward Uria, as if saying: "Your clone tasted pretty good."

[Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju] ATK: 2200

Uria's crimson pupils trembled as it stared at the creature that had devoured its avatar. For once, the most hot-headed of the Sacred Beasts didn't even know what to say.

Inside the academy building, students seeing the Dean Duel for the first time were astonished that he had defeated the terrifying Uria so easily.

While Gameciel only had 2200 Attack, that was far better than facing a 5000 Attack and Defense Uria. And since Gameciel's summon was a Special Summon that didn't use up Alester's Normal Summon, and he had used his opponent's monster as the Tribute—it was a huge gain overall!

Outside the arena, Alicia and Yuui were also surprised, though for entirely different reasons.

Yuui twitched at the sight of the sea turtle. "Gameciel!? Where did this Dean even get that thing!?"

"Yuui-san, the Kaiju series… that's one of your cards, isn't it?"

"Yeah!! That's why I'm confused! Where did he get it? And it's even the most practical one—Gameciel!"

"Hehe, looks like my Gameciel really enjoyed your avatar," Alester said with a laugh, then twisted the knife further: "There aren't many feeds that satisfy it this much!"

Alicia: "Wow (0ДQ), Yuui-san, is this what you meant by shrimp-hearted betrayal? That's just infuriating!"

Yuui: "Yeah… if I were him, I'd probably jump into the Duel myself right now. That attack power's no joke!"

On the field, Uria turned toward Alester. Its brow furrowed so tightly it nearly folded in on itself, its face dark with rage—still, it forced its temper down and growled, "You think this is enough to defeat me!? How naïve! Now I'll show you my power!

"I activate my Set card—Continuous Trap, Hyper Blaze!!"

A crimson Trap Card flipped up behind Uria, erupting with blazing red flames.

The artwork on the card depicted Uria unleashing its ultimate attack—Hyper Blaze!

"Oh, a signature Trap Card, huh? So you've recovered to this level already," Alester said with a faintly surprised expression.

"Hmph! Too late for regrets now!" Uria threw its last card into the Graveyard and shouted, "I activate the effect of Hyper Blaze! Once per turn, by discarding one card from my hand, I can Special Summon one of my Sacred Beasts—Uria, Hamon, or Raviel—from my Graveyard, ignoring its Summoning conditions!

"I discard Card of Compensation, and from the depths of Purgatory, rise again! Purify this world in crimson flame!

"Return once more, my avatar—Uria, Lord of Searing Flames!!"

Roar!!

From the inferno of Hyper Blaze erupted a furious roar. Once again, the fiery Phantasm Beast wreathed in hellish flame and malice descended upon the field!

[Uria, Lord of Searing Flames, ATK: 5000]

"And now, the effect of Card of Compensation! When it's sent from my hand to the Graveyard, I draw two cards!"

Drawing two new cards, Uria glared across the field at Alester and roared, "See this, old man!? This is the power of the Sacred Beasts!

"You thought you could beat me with a few petty tricks? Keep dreaming!!"

ROAR!!

As if echoing its master's words, Uria's form exploded with even greater power. A wave of scorching air burst forth, forcing Alicia, Yuui, and even the teachers inside the academy to stumble back.

"Hehehe, still full of energy, I see!"

Alester laughed heartily, then drew another card from his hand. "In that case, let my own Spirit taste your Phantasm once again!

"From my hand, I Special Summon Lava Golem! This card cannot be Normal Summoned. By Tributing two monsters on your field, I can Special Summon it to your field—and in exchange, I can't Normal Summon this turn!

"You currently control Uria and Gameciel, so I Tribute them both to Special Summon Lava Golem to your field!"

From beneath Uria and Gameciel's feet erupted molten fire, engulfing both of them in an instant.

Even Uria, the ruler of hellfire itself, could only roar in fury before being consumed. Gameciel's jade eyes glanced pitifully toward Alester before being reduced to ash alongside its new ally.

With two supreme sacrifices offered, the flames condensed into molten magma.

A towering giant of fire rose behind Instructor Claire, an iron cage hanging from its chest—trapping her within.

Lava Golem descended!

[Lava Golem, DEF: 2500]

The field fell silent. Only the sizzle of molten rock dripping from Lava Golem's body filled the air.

Uria turned to glare at the hulking creature that had just devoured its clone. The giant noticed and, unbelievably, gave a goofy smile.

A vein pulsed on Uria's forehead. Its face flushed red—whether from rage or heat was unclear.

Then Uria turned its burning gaze to Alester, who was still smiling cheerfully.

"You fcking bastard, Alester! You son of a btch! Do you dare face me head-on!? I'll fck you up, you fcking—!!"

Uria, controlling Claire's body, began screaming every curse it could think of. The usually graceful instructor's face twisted into an almost comical expression of rage. The surrounding students and teachers blushed—not so much at the vulgarity, but at how utterly speechless their Dean's behavior left them.

Honestly, if they were in Uria's position, they'd probably curse too—even the nobles and teachers among them.

Outside, Yuui covered Alicia's ears within five seconds of Uria's outburst. He couldn't allow her pure heart to be tainted by such profanity.

As for Alester's play? If Yuui were judging, he'd give it full marks. However, if he were in Uria's place, he'd probably swear even worse.

At this point, the Duel wasn't about winning or losing anymore—it was about who would step out and summon their fists next.

Alicia, watching Uria rage uncontrollably, finally asked in a low voice, "Yuui-san, did that Sacred Beast… learn all those swear words from you?"

"Probably… not," Yuui said, sounding a bit guilty.

After all, every curse Uria had just used was pure, authentic 'normal' profanity from his past life!
