Chapter 4 - Ch 4 |Training (1)

I entered inside the ship and it looked exactly as I'd remembered it from the show, at least the main area of the ship anyway. The rest wasn't really shown in the anime or manga that I remembered.

I went over to the console and saw a board with instructions written on it that were apparently idiot proof.

I suppose Bulma is used to dealing with the absent-minded Goku so she made everything very easy to understand.

I quickly turned it on and set it to 20 times Earth's gravity, double what Goku should be dealing with on King Kai's planet.

But I am a lot stronger than Goku so while 20 times gravity was uncomfortable, it wasn't straining me that much. The weighted clothes were actually having an effect under the gravity though so I could still train until I felt no strain.

I began to train while in my Base form

Not that I truly had any other form to train in, but even if i did, I wouldn't train in it as all the Saiyan forms are boosts to your base strength.

I started with the basic warm-ups that Roshi explained were best as this gravity training is startlingly similar to his hermit style that included wearing a weighted Turtle shell and weighted clothing.

I had no plans to focus on anything but destroying my body with the strain of gravity and even using Vegeta's method of hitting myself with my own Ki blasts to damage my body even more to get a Zenkai boost although I'd hoped to be able to get one even before that point.

Realizing the strain wasn't that much, I upped the gravity to 30 and by that time I definitely felt the strain.

I knew it was now the perfect environment so I began my training.

I was punching and kicking the air imagining fighting an opponent (essentially shadow boxing), I was doing basic push-ups and sit-ups, and even did sprints to help with my stamina.

I also practiced every move that Roshi taught me and that I already knew to get the most out of my training.

(12 Hours Later)

I was laying on the chamber floor panting heavily and sweating profusely. I was currently experiencing 60 times gravity and the weighted clothes had helped immensely in training my strength just as I'd planned.

I hadn't gotten to a point where I could abuse the Zenkai as I knew I'd have to suppress my power and then deal with this gravity and I could then take a senzu bean.

As scarce as Senzu beans are, i refused to use them to simply recover from fatigue.

I wanted to rest before I tried to attempt a Zenkai. So I got up slowly due to exhaustion and turned off the gravity, but just as it was starting to turn off, the Chamber malfunctioned and the gravity was immediately increased to 200×.

I collapsed heavily onto the floor and I could feel my body being crushed under the weight. The pain was excruciating and my body started to bleed heavily and my eyes and ears felt like they'd burst. I felt like my insides were being smashed and squashed.

I knew I didn't have a choice so I took a senzu bean out and ate it.

A few minutes passed and I quickly recovered but i was still under the strain of the increased gravity and I knew what I had to do. I used Max Power and my body quickly expanded and my strength increased threefold.

*pant*

*pant*

*pant*

"Phew, that was close. I'm just glad it didn't jump to 1,000× I might've been squashed to a pulp." I said aloud.

I then walked over and tried to turn off the gravity again, this time it worked and I could fully relax.

[AN: I'm going to call Max Power simply Max or Max Form for the foreseeable future.]

I left my Max form and quickly got out of the Chamber and was sitting on the grass outside.

I then finally took a look at my power post Zenkai and I was shocked.

My power level without any boosts with the Zenkai had reached 150,000. I now had the base strength of my prior Max form which means with Max form my power would be 450,000 and with my Oozaru form it'd be 1,500,000. A power above Frieza's full power second form which is 1,200,000

This was really good but i honestly don't understand how Zenkai works. From what I remembered in the anime a character like Gohan's power level after the potential unlock from Guru and being enraged was 720,000 and after his Zenkai he reached 800,000.

This leads me to believe that depending on the highest level of power shown Pre-Zenkai would determine what the power would be Post-Zenkai.

I don't actually know what my power level was before the malfunction, but I'd be willing to bet it was still below 60,000.

Regardless of what happened, the results are very good. I will be telling Bulma about the malfunction though as if it had gone to 1,000× gravity at that moment, with my current power, I might've died.

I walked out and quickly found Bulma.

"Done training already, I guess not all Saiyans are able to train like Goku." Bulma said with a sly grin.

"It's not that I am too tired or need rest." I said.

"Then what is it?" Bulma asked curiously.

I then explained the malfunction and how it jumped over 100 levels and I nearly died. Bulma got mad, not at me, but that her creation wasn't working perfectly and proceeded to complete ignore me in lieu of trying to fix the situation.

She called her dad, explained the problem to him and he came over and they both began to work on fixing the issue.

Mr. Briefs had been the one who helped Bulma to create it in the first place so his input was invaluable.

They walked out after about half an hour and Bulma walked right in front of me.

"Well, you're in luck, we were able to rule out user error so at least I can confirm you're not as meatheaded as I thought. We'll need another week to fix the chamber and make redundancies so it doesn't happen again." She explained.

"That's fine." I replied feeling that maybe I could try and learn the techniques from the other Z-Fighters and train with them for a week then spend the next 2 weeks and 13 days training in the chamber to be ready when the Saiyans arrived.

I flew to where I sensed Krillin's Ki on Kami's lookout one of the places I most wanted to go.

I arrived at the lookout and saw the Z-Fighters sparing. Krillin, Yamcha, Chaotzu, and Tien.

I greeted Krillin and Yamcha and introduced myself to Tien and Chaotzu. I was currently suppressing my power to 15,000, but that was still extremely powerful and Tien and Chaotzu had already heard about my strength.

"Hey Krillin, Bulma is still fixing something for me to train so do you wanna spar? We can try and teach eachother some of our Ki techniques as well, but I don't think you'll be able to use mine." I asked then explained.

I actually liked Krillin as a character and he was the first to try and get to know me when I arrived here even if it was to get on my good side.

I also knew his personality, he was a little arrogant, but also passionate so he would want to get stronger to protect his friends and would want to prove he could use my Ki Techniques. He was also a little cowardly, but willing to step up for his friends.

"You're on! But you'll have to hold back." He said excitedly then concerningly.

"Don't worry, I have my power suppressed as low as I can, but I fear you still can't beat me." I said not trying to insult him, but explain that he is not my match.

"You don't have to worry about that. I felt your power the day you arrived I know how out of my league I am." Krillin said before walking across from me and took a martial arts stance familiar to me as it was the same stance that Goku often took and what I'd learned from Master Roshi and was currently utilizing.

"I see you trained under master Roshi as well." Krillin said with a grin as he pushed off the ground and rushed to attack me.

I stopped his kick to my head with my forearm effortlessly and pushed him away.

"Yes, and I'm glad to train with one of his original students." I said as I waited for him to attack again changing my stance.

The current fighting style i was using was very reminiscent of wait and attack. I would wait for the perfect opening and then strike.

This wasn't my main fighting style, I was normally more aggressive, but I wasn't fighting for my life, and I was channeling the principles of Judo, Aikido, and Wing Chun into my fighting style.

All these styles involves the concept of 'waiting' while not strictly passive, this "waiting" is a highly disciplined and active state of readiness, timing, and strategic patience.

The main reason I had been trying out this fighting style is I believed it was the closest to the mindset I needed to have to begin to even sense the bare elements of Ultra Instinct(UI).

UI isn't about being aggressive it is where a person's mind is empty and their body reacts instinctively without conscious thought. Although my approach with this style probably involves even more thinking than my normal fighting style, I am mostly trying to get rid of my aggressive nature and try to get used to 'feeling' the enemies attack and countering.

It is not easy and requires a lot of patience and this new style I am practicing is to cultivate that patience.

The rest of the Z-Fighters were intrigued by my style and wanted to figure out how I'd beat Krillin with it.

They noticed that this wasn't a carefree style like I was simply toying with Krillin, it was more like I was being reactive not proactive which they don't see that often.

Krillin came at me again, and as soon as he got into my guard I quickly side stepped appearing as if I simply flashed next to him, placed my foot behind his, grabbed his arm, kicked my leg back toward me removing Krillin's balance, then I flipped him off to the side.

Krillin didn't expect that but he isn't some normal human which this move would've at least knocked the wind out of, he simply rolled back up and looked at me.

"That wasn't a move from Master Roshi." He said with a grin.

"No, no it wasn't." I replied grinning back.
