The evening was cool and calm.
A gentle downpour had washed the streets of Tevilla City clean, and a mild breeze carried the scent of wet earth — perfect for rest, for reflection. But tranquility had no place at Trafford Manor.
Inside, chaos reigned.
Five massive, merciless men surrounded a bloodied figure — a man in his mid-twenties — pummeling him with ruthless precision. Every blow landed with a sickening thud, echoing off the cold stone walls like the toll of a funeral bell.
"Enough."
The command cut through the violence like a blade.
A woman's voice — sharp, poised, and chillingly composed.
Melissa Trafford.
The newly acclaimed heiress of the wealthy Trafford family stood at the edge of the scene, untouched by the brutality, cloaked in elegance and authority. There was no remorse in her eyes, only calculation. Beside her was a male figure exuding elegance, and an aura of nobility.
"Are you going to sign the divorce papers or not?" she asked, her tone void of emotion.
For Damian Kane, the words struck harder than the fists.
This — this — was the woman he had devoted his life to. Orphaned young, Damian had found purpose and belonging in Melissa. He had pledged loyalty not just as her bodyguard and personal assistant, but as the man who had stood by her through every challenge, every corporate war, every threat to her life. He had helped carve her path to power.
And now, she cast him aside like a broken tool.
The weight of her question didn't just sink in — it crushed him. A storm surged in his mind, louder than the thunder outside. The woman he loved… saw him as nothing.
"But why do you want a divorce", Damian managed to say still recovering from his beatings.
"Don't you get it, I the heiress of a wealthy family and you --- you're nothing. I need a real man not a scumbag like you." Melissa said sarcastically
Just then Melissa's mother Evelyn Trafford came in exuding elegance befitting a noble lady. "I always told you that Damian was a good for nothing gold digger. Back then you didn't believe me now you can see it for yourself."
Melissa still showing a measure of indifference said callously, "What matters now is that in a moment he'll be out of our lives"
Damian was completely shattered. For 3 years he had endured humiliations from the Trafford family, had sacrificed a scholarship just to assist Melissa and help her become the heir to the Trafford family and now she was throwing him away like he didn't matter.
Then came a masculine voice of Richard Palmer interrupting his thoughts and bringing him back to reality. "For the sake of my calm nature, I'm giving you one more chance, sign the divorce papers and get your ass off Melissa. I'm giving you just a minute, any further delay and I'll make you pay with your life".
Damian seeing the situation was lost obliged their request. "Melissa you're going to regret this". Melissa instantly hissed," My only regret is marrying you in the first place, but now with Richard here I now have a real man. Just take a glance at the Trafford Manor for this is the last time you're going to see the interior of such a luxury villa"
"Okay then I'm going, but mark my words you going to regret everything."
" You still talk big huh, then guards make sure break his legs"
