[ Knight Trials commencing in 30 minutes. ]
" Where's Hudson? " Enmei asked worriedly as she walked around looking for her friend.
" He might not want to be a knight." Venus flew down to talk to Enmei and the human girl scowled.
" I know , but he's never the one to run from his problems. He'd rather search for answers than just leave." Enmei said and while the other players had practice fights and arguments Jack came flipping onto the scene.
The bushes rustled as he somersaulted through them.
" Hudson's strange, Hudson's odd, Is he strong enough to kill a God ? " Jack asked and Enmei furrowed her brows at him.
" What are you talking about ?" Enmei asked the tall creepy man and Kaito walked over to them looking frustrated.
" Why isn't Hudson here? " He asked.
[ All Female Players please line up on the other side of the dome. Your games will start soon ]
" I'm gonna go. Tell Hudson that I wish him luck." Enmei said to Kaito and the dark- haired man gave her a soft smile.
" Bye, Enmei." he said and the human girl left.
Venus flew off to the other side of the dome.
[ Knight Trials Commencing in 3 2 1]
The Dome transformed into a place that looked like a jungle , there were trees and plants everywhere.
Most of the land around them was now covered by water .
" A swamp ?" Kaito scoffed , then he pulled his pole out of thin air and spinned it.
"I have no intention of swimming."
The hums of sirens created a creepy yet calming atmosphere and the players zoned out after hearing the sweet sounds.
Only Atarro , Kaito and a pink haired boy in the distance seemed unbothered by the Siren's singing.
Attarro was constantly turning the Rubik's cube , staring at it with undivided attention as if nothing else existed and with every twist of the cube his hands trembled nervously and he seemed to be on the brink of panic.
" Attarro are you ok ? " Kaito called after him but the boy didn't even look at him.
" Everything should be in it's rightful place but this is .... all mixed up." Atarro complained in dispair.
" The boy with the Rubik's cube seems to be protected from the Siren sounds by his fixation." The pink haired boy observed Atarro then he turned slowly to look over at Kaito.
" I wonder what his fixation is ." The pink haired boy said , he had brown skin and wore headphones that were shaped like a curved horn over each of his ears.
He walked towards Kaito , reaching into his torn backpack and handing him a pair of headphones.
Kaito furrowed his brows looking questioningly at the pink haired stranger.
He was about to refuse the headphones when Attarro twisted the cube quickly and it fell right out of his hands and onto the ground , rolling away into the water just to be grabbed by a siren who smirked mischievously and swam away with it.
Atarro stood still as if frozen with fear , horror covered his face then he panicked as his body grew larger , his eyes changed into large slits that resembled a cold blooded reptile's and then suddenly he transformed into a dragon.
Kaito stared at Attarro in awe as he dived into the water desperately to get his Rubik's cube back.
" He's a dragon ?" Kaito asked in disbelief thinking of how weak and non threatening Attarro seemed in his human form.
"Well that explains why he was so obsessed with the Rubik's cube. It seems it might be a magical object that keeps him from turning into his true form." The pink hair boy observed to himself and Kaito stared at him.
" Who are you ? " Kaito asked and the pink haired boy smiled before he replied.
" My name's Sonata. On my planet music kills people." He said and Kaito felt chills run over his body and when Sonata reached the headphones to him again Kaito took them without hesitation and put them on.
Attarro suddenly came from under the water in his human form, throwing a magical weapon onto the land and then clutching his Rubik's cube like his life depended on it as he laid on the ground breathing heavily and coughing.
[ Game detects a promising player! ]
[ Attarro just leveled up! ]
"Attarro just got recognized by the game. I can't believe he's this amazing." Kaito said to Sonata as they both watched the chaos around them.
" My name's Kaito by the way." The dark haired boy said and Sonata smiled.
" Not trying to be mysterious anymore? "
He asked and Kaito scowled at him.
" Listen I want to get the Katana from over there and I do NOT have time to waste. I need to save Lure."
" That's your fixation? A girl ? Is she your girlfriend ?" Sonata asked and Kaito acted disgusted.
" She's my cousin and she's not my fixation."
" Oh she definitely is." Sonata said then he walked away.
" A person's fixation can make it harder for Sirens to mess with their head. The stronger the fixation the less effect Sirens have on them. You didn't seem even a bit affected so I assumed you had been fixated on something....or someone." Sonata said as he walked away from Kaito .
Kaito didn't reply and instead stared down at the ground.
He knew he was overprotective when it came to Lure but he wasn't ready to admit that.
" I'm going to get a weapon from the Sirens. Make sure you get one so you can protect Lure. We should team up but right now I'm heading for that ." Sonata told Kaito then he pointed across the swamp to a large magical sword that floated above the swamp.
Kaito nodded then he felt something pull at his leg.
It was a siren and so he instantly pulled his pole out of thin air, jumping into the water and attacking the siren that teased him.
Sonata started humming back , singing a tune that could protect him and suddenly his shoes glowed and he stepped onto the water and walked on it like it was a bridge.
A few sirens grabbed at his feet but he simply jumped, dodging their attacks and continued walking across the water.
" Fuck ! You could do that and you just let me get wet ? " Kaito asked frustratedly after coming up on the surface again, brushing his hair out his face with his hands.
" I thought you'd like a surprise." Sonata said then he grabbed at the weapon that floated above the water but as soon as he touched it it exploded.
[ Can't get a siren weapon if you're afraid of the water ! ]
The system shrieked
[ That's against the rules, Sonata ]
The brown skinned boy fell into the water as the system suppressed his powers.
" It's not my fault that my powers are Insane." Sonata complained then he swam towards Kaito .
The water was angry as the sirens attacked the players.
For a second the players were all struggling being beaten brutally by the Sirens and then all of a sudden some one sprung out the water with a flawless presence.
" I flip to fight , I flip to flirt if I fight my flips might make you hurt! " Jack shouted as he sprung in and out the water. His teeth gritted as he sliced through a siren.
[ Game detects a Great Player! ]
[ Jack just leveled up ]
The players all looked on shocked as Jack revealed a large sword that glowed .
" I can't believe the circus freak is the strongest of all of us. " Kaito said frustratedly as he tried to fight of a siren.
" Man came out here saying nursery rhymes and killing people." Sonata replied and then he groaned in frustration.
" If only Hudson was here. It would atleast be fun." Kaito remarked and the water calmed down for a second.
The place was a picture of chaos , it looked like a battle field of an amusement war that was wrecked and ended up underwater.
The system analyzed Jack more than anyone else , testing his strength and agility and of course the circus vampire had outstanding agility.
He proved to be a good player both on land and off it which made him even more valuable in the eyes of the system and the greedy politicians.
Just outside the central battlefield a news reporter fan girled about Jack and the possibility of him overpowering the system then she found something else about him to talk about.
" Jack has been a fan favorite, proving his strength and showing us that he's not only strong but flexible....I wonder what the girls will do with this information." She said then she paused suddenly as Hudson approached the scene .
" Hey arent you supposed to be a player in the game ? I thought they said the barrier would keep you trapped." Se said but Hudson just looked on at he battlefield angrily.
The camera man pointed the lense at him and he finally turned to faced them.
" I remember you fighting with Eros. What is your name?"
" If I can't save anyone then I don't deserve to have people know my name." Hudson said bluntly then he jumped le beating into the air then teleported onto the Central battlefield just a short walk away from Kaito.
Kaito was struggling to stay above water while fighting with a siren when Hudson stood behind him and aimed an arrow at the water loving creature and killed it.
Kaito turned around quickly.
" Hudson ? You're back ! " He said as he rushed towards his friend but the green eyed boy stopped him.
" What's the rules of this game ? " Hudson asked and why are they're so many of us. Do they need a whole army to protect the bride? "
Kaito frowned.
" We have to get a magical weapon to level up. Once you level up you're transported to another part of the battlefield. "
" So Jack's already gone isn't he ?"
" You think that freak would still be here with the rest of us ? He's literally a jester with the strength of a God."
" And Attarro? "
" Get this ..Atarro's true form is a dragon. There's no way we're making it to the top 12 knights if that's all Eros' bride will need."
Hudson furrowed his brows at the black haired man.
" It doesn't matter if we make it to that level as long as Enmei and Lure are ok right? So we just have to make it to another level where both genders are on the same battlefield and I'll save her. And I don't think I need to play this game to save the world. I just gotta find the right girl for Eros."
[ System detects a great player! ]
" Finally ! " Sonata remarked then he held up his new magical weapon and turned to Kaito .
" Look at that , you've got Hudson. Now it's your turn to get a weapon." The pink haired boy said them he disappeared.
[ Sonata just leveled up ]
With the pressure of getting a magical weapon and making it to the next level Hudson and Kaito found themselves battling against Cole , Elias and some of the strongest players for a spot.
The water became troubled as if the foreshadow even greater danger than just sirens and the battle field expanded to make room for a more horrifying opponent.
