Chapter 16 - 16 – Farewell X Hunter

"Stop!"

A daily shout.

Kevin was lying on the ground again.

But this time, Wing was also sitting cross-legged on the ground, panting and recovering his strength.

More than two months had passed since Biscuit's last formal lesson. All told, they had been here for three months.

Biscuit would bring over the necessary daily necessities.

But even so, Kevin and Wing now looked like savages.

"You've finally made some progress," Wing said, panting.

The progress here didn't refer to the timing of calling "stop," but to Kevin's combat skills during the fight.

As for the duration of combat, it was increasing steadily along with Kevin's growing Nen.

Wing had also learned various Nen Ability application techniques during this period and had mastered them proficiently.

Of course, compared to Kevin's innate and effortless control, he was still far behind.

"Why isn't Master back yet?" Kevin asked, lying on the ground.

He needed the Nen Ability called 『Miss Cookie』, which was Biscuit's Nen Ability. Without it, the hellish training later would kill him.

Previously, Biscuit would come once a day, but as time went on, the interval had become once every two or three days, mostly just to deliver daily necessities.

"Missing your master?"

Biscuit arrived right on cue.

"It's really hard to get used to hearing a beautiful young girl who looks much younger than me call herself 'master,'" Kevin grumbled.

Before, Biscuit used to call herself things like "beautiful young princess."

"Really?"

Biscuit's eyes widened and sparkled, her expression showing she was extremely pleased.

"You can call me Sister Biscuit."

She clasped her hands together at her chest, looking like a shy young girl.

Wing shook his head seriously. "No, that would be too disrespectful."

Biscuit's face immediately fell, and she flicked her hand.

Both instantly dodged.

"Hmph, still acceptable."

She put her hands on her hips and said, "Pack up your things. We're leaving. This stage of training is over."

The two sprang into action. Were they finally returning to civilization after three months of living like savages in the wild?

They drove back to the city.

After a thorough wash-up at the hotel, Kevin threw himself onto the soft bed.

"Ah~"

A comfortable sound escaped from his soul.

"It's a bed. A soft bed that lets you sink in. I almost forgot your touch."

At that moment, the door was pushed open.

Wing and Biscuit walked in.

Kevin sat up and looked over.

Wing had obviously tidied himself up well, shedding his savage appearance.

But why did he still look a bit disheveled?

Messy hair, white shirt, dress pants, and leather shoes.

But half his shirt was hanging out, the tag was still attached, and a small section of his underwear was exposed from his waist.

Had he been changed by the wild world? Had he stopped caring about his appearance? You're still so young!

Kevin grabbed Wing, filled with indignation.

"Don't be defeated by the savage world, Wing. Pull yourself together. Don't lose your dignity!"

Wing was confused at first, then looked at himself.

His face flushed slightly with embarrassment, and he quickly tidied his appearance.

Biscuit, standing nearby, was already so used to it that she didn't even sigh.

Alas. Enhancement.

"Alright, now I have something important to say."

Kevin and Wing immediately became serious.

Biscuit looked at Kevin and said, "This stage of training is pretty much done here. You must continue to maintain your physical training, but it's best to keep it at a certain level so you don't injure your body."

Kevin sensed something was off in her words.

Sure enough, she continued, "Next, we will part ways. Although I came to teach you at Ging's request,

there's no doubt that I'm very happy to teach you and become your master."

"But…" Kevin wanted to say something, but she interrupted him.

"But your training isn't over. I'm giving you a long-term task. Once you complete it, I will continue your advanced training."

Kevin quieted down and listened carefully.

"In this city, there's a place called Sky Arena. I want you to reach the 200th floor without using Nen Ability attacks."

After speaking, she quietly looked at Kevin and added in a calm voice, "During this period, fully understand your Nen Ability. Think about the Nen Ability you want and construct it using what you've learned."

Kevin nodded. He understood.

Then he looked at Wing.

Unexpectedly, Wing said, "Uh… I've already completed this process, and I learned Nen during it."

He thought for a moment. "This process will indeed be very helpful to you. Very helpful."

"Is that so?"

"Yes."

Wing nodded with certainty.

After giving her instructions, Biscuit took Wing and left directly.

There was not much sadness in parting, just a brief separation. It wasn't as if they wouldn't see each other again, and they had exchanged phone numbers.

Kevin regained his freedom and lay on the bed, silently staring at the ceiling.

Then he suddenly got up and opened the hotel's built-in desktop computer.

He began to search for information.

Sky Arena.

The fourth tallest building in the world.

It has 251 floors and reaches a height of 991 meters.

A landmark building in this city and a world-renowned tourist destination.

The entire building is used for combat, making it a sacred place for all martial artists in the world.

Is this reasonable?

After thinking about Nen Ability in this world, he understood.

Finally, he studied the combat mechanism of this building and roughly grasped Biscuit's intention.

Due to his poor learning ability, Biscuit had given him a clumsy but effective method to improve his combat skills.

Let his body remember. Let his body get used to it through countless battles.

He inexplicably thought of the sea-of-questions tactic. Truly a persistent haunting.

The task was to reach the 200th floor without using Nen attacks. The building had 251 floors.

Starting from the 200th floor upward, there would be significant changes.

If there were no surprises, above the 200th floor would likely be a battlefield for Nen users.

This meant that below the 200th floor, the probability of encountering Nen users was very low.

Not using Nen attacks but still being able to defend himself would allow his body to learn through combat without risking his life.

After understanding this, Kevin immediately began searching for other information.

Such as the Hunter.

He hadn't forgotten that both Biscuit and Ging called themselves professional Hunters.

Hunter License

The first thing he saw was the Hunter Association and the privileges each professional Hunter possessed.

The item representing a Hunter's identity was a certificate called a Hunter License.

A symbol of two X's.

With this item:

One could enter 90% of countries that generally prohibited entry and 75% of restricted areas.

One enjoyed bank financing equivalent to a top-tier company, could secure high loans with it as collateral, and could stay in countries other than one's birth country even without a passport.

One could use computer networks and 95% of public facilities for free.

Many famous individuals were Hunters. Sixty of the top 100 on the rich list were Hunters.

This was still a civilian organization. How did they manage it?

Nen Ability. Right. Nen Ability.

To obtain a license, one needed to pass a process called the Hunter Exam.

Held annually in early January.

The current date was May 17, 1994.

He still had to wait more than half a year.

Good. It's decided.

I'll use these six months to complete the task, construct my true Nen Ability, and fully understand and use A Moment of Dream.

Kevin was full of motivation, having planned out his goals.
