"You've gotta be kidding me?" Levi stared at the phones in shock.
She just singlehandedly bought the newest model of Samsung for every single one of them.
"No need to thank me." Kelly smiled. Her modesty was enviable, if it someone else this would have somehow found it's way to the internet.
"Says who? Although I have second thoughts about the twins having phones now. They'll only be using it when they get home, I don't want them to be distracted in school." The excited looks on the twins faces disappeared immediately. They were planning on showing off to their friends.
"Hmph..." Becky's annoyance was obvious.
"You have to be such a kill joy." Reggie said.
"You can have the phones for now." He handed the phones to them and the excited looks on their faces returned.
"I know you would absolutely kill me for this." Kelly said, looking down on the back of her palm nervously.
"What's that?" Levi was curious.
"I ordered a car" Levi stared at her in disbelief.
"My mom was really excited when I told her all about Clover and you guys. She has offered her assistance through me."
"This is too much." Levi took a deep breath.
"No amounts of thank you can show our appreciation." He was more than stunned.
"It's alright. You know I and Clover go way back, she has gone through a lot. She deserves better." She hugged Clover.
"Whoever is a family to Clover, is a family to me."
"Now let's have some pizza."
.
.
"Clover!" They were in the middle of Maths class.
"What?" Clover whispered back to Kelly.
The whole class was quiet, so much that if a pin dropped it would be heard.
"What club are you choosing?" Clover rolled her eyes. Kelly wasn't being serious at all, they could have this conversation after the class.
"Seriously?"
"Miss Clover!" Hearing her name from the teacher's mouth made her heart race.
"Yes, Mr Barton!" She answered nervously.
"Do you have something to say to the class?"
"No." She said simply.
"It seems like you're interested in solving this equation." He finally turned to look at her; he did a hand gesture for her to stand up and come to the board to solve the equation he had just written.
"I'm gonna so kill you after this." She said to Kelly before going up to solve the equation.
When she was done, she handed the marker back to him and went back to her seat.
"Albert Einstein the second." Kelly said in a taunting manner.
"It's good to know you're following up." The math's teacher said to Clover.
At that moment the bell rang, signalling the end of his math's class.
"I might give a test this week. Like a pop quiz, so expect the unexpected." After saying that he left.
"Time for the gym!!! Whop whop!!!" One of her classmates shouted, which resulted in an uproar for the jocks.
"Yay!!!" Kelly was equally excited for the gym. It wasn't like it was the first time they were going to the gym, but today was going to be girls versus boys in every activity they were going to do.
Clover was indifferent, she just sighed in frustration because attendance was mandatory and she couldn't sit this one out.
"I'm not cut out for any of this." She slumped on her desk, looking miserable.
"Let's go." Kelly stood up and dragged her out of the class.
After changing in the girls locker room, they all headed to the school field/stadium rather than the usual school gym.
"Gather round!!" The gym coach said and they all gathered around him on the field.
"We'll have a total of six events. Some of which will be carried out in the school gym.
It'll start in this order, A race; which has to do with the 100metres race, relay race, sack race and three legged race; soccer and finally table tennis which will be carried out in this field. Then, basketball; swimming and dodgeball will be carried out in the gym."
"We are all aware that it's girls versus the boys, so y'all do your best. I leave you all to form teams for the events." The girls went to the right side, while the boys went to the left side.
"Which activity should we do?" Kelly asked.
"The three legged race." Clover said.
"Nice."
.
.
After a while of arguing and selecting of who should partake in whatever event that suits them, they were finally ready to start.
"On your marks, get set, ready, go!" And with that the first race started.
The boys won the first race.
The relay race commenced and this time the girls won, the boys lacked coordination which led to them being behind.
The sack race was worn by the girls again and finally it was Clover's and Kelly's turn.
"Go!" The gun flared and they started running. They practiced which leg they would start with and their coordination was superb. The boys were close behind them and they used that opportunity to push them leading to them losing balance and tumbling down to the ground.
The coach blowed the whistle and the race was immediately cancelled.
"Are you guys alright?" Belle was the first to come check on them. She untied the rope that was used to tie their legs together.
"We are fine." Kelly replied, not exactly accepting her concern.
"Stupid boys. All muscle and no brains." Belle snared at them.
"Are you girls alright?" The gym coach asked them.
"Do you need to go to the school clinic?" They both shook their heads.
"We want to finish our race." Kelly said with determination.
"You sure?" They both nodded.
"Go girls!" Belle said hyping their spirits.
They got up and went to the starting line, ready to win the race. The fierce look on their faces show they weren't ready to lose.
"Can't wait to wipe the smug look off your pretty faces." One of the guys said with a grin.
"As if." Clover smirked.
"Go!" They ran like their lives depended on it. The boys took the lead at first but they were more focused on speed rather than coordination, towards the finish line, they fell down woefully and the girls were the first to make it to the finish line.
"From the results, the girls are the winners of the race." The girls shouted in excitement.
"I hope you boys do better next time." After saying that they coach dismissed them so that they could prepare for the next event.
Clover stood by the table where bottles of water were placed. She took one and gulped down, regaining her strength.
"You did great out there." Someone said from behind her. He took one of the bottles then turned around and left.
"Thanks." She said to his disappearing back.
