Chapter 144: The Journey to Greenworth
One month later
Medias Sector, Greenworth
This is a planet with an atmosphere unusually suitable for human habitation. Sixty percent of the planet's surface is covered by seawater and five scattered, enormous continental landforms. The diverse topography has created different ecological environments.
Looking down from the sky, you can see a variety of environments: forests, grasslands, mountains, and high peaks. Hundreds of cities have been built across several continents. Skyscrapers stand tall in each city, and air transportation is readily available. The cities are connected by a network of high-speed trains, and countless airplanes fly overhead.
The huge harbor is filled with numerous ships, coastal and ocean-going vessels, warships, and a few other craft sailing on the sea. The entire planet is incredibly beautiful and prosperous.
Over the past few decades, hundreds of millions of people have transformed it into a wonderful human home. Trains and airplanes connect the continents, forming a unified whole.
The entire planet has bid farewell to its early pioneering era and established a republican government similar to that of the Alpha Sector, where everything is orderly and predictable.
The changes on the planet over the past few decades have been witnessed by everyone. Rapid development and a bright future have filled countless people with hope, renewing their outlook. Everyone cherishes the miracles they have created with their own hands.
With the establishment of its starport, Greenworth entered the space age ahead of the other Medias worlds and is now mining the star system's resources and minerals.
In the planet's outer space, there is a vast, sophisticated starport, with numerous small spaceships and nearly a hundred space warships over a thousand meters long for defense.
This starport handles troop transport for the Alpha Legion and the planet's exploration of outer space.
Space rippled through the galaxy as numerous massive spaceships leaped from the Warp, led by a colossal vessel over thirty kilometers long bearing the prominent Imperial double-headed eagle emblem. Hundreds of warships appeared in the starry sky in succession, each reaching ten kilometers in length. This fleet flew straight toward the starport.
The appearance of the starship attracted the attention of smaller spaceships in the star system.
After being notified, the starport personnel, knowing that such a huge warship could only belong to high-ranking figures from the Empire, immediately sent a message to inquire and welcome them to Greenworth.
Inside the massive bridge, Curze looked at the star system model and the small fleet in space and exclaimed in surprise, "These things weren't here last time. Now you even have a starport and warships. You've developed quite quickly."
Omega explained, "The Medias Forging World established its troop transport system long ago, and Greenworth is a key planet for development, so it's natural that it has a starport. Personally, I've never been to the surface of this planet, so I don't know how developed it is."
Horus said, speechless, "You're in charge of this sector, and you're telling us you've never been there? How is that possible?"
Omega replied, "The city's construction and development are entirely the responsibility of the Legion's officers. How they handle it is their business, as long as they abide by the Alpha Sector's regulations."
"I understand the specific development process and provide instructions for subsequent plans. As for governing personally, I don't have that much time. I trust the wisdom of these officers. If a rebellion breaks out, they can come to me."
Upon hearing this, Jaghatai Khan laughed. "Brother, there's really nothing wrong with what you're doing."
"But I think Guilliman's comments about your behind-the-scenes planning and guidance are seriously flawed. The story you're telling is too far removed from reality, so don't blame us for having objections later."
Omega glanced at Malcador and smiled easily. "Malcador has also sent people to keep an eye on this sector for me, so I'm quite at ease."
Seeing everyone looking at him, the grey-robed Malcador scrutinized Omega and spoke calmly.
"You should be thankful that these officers were very dedicated. Their efforts made up for your crude and ambitious plan. If there's any merit to it, it's their achievement, or rather, it's part of your plan."
"I really didn't expect that much. I'm relieved to hear that," Omega said with a smile, sensing a glimmer of hope.
Malcador looked incredulous. Omega had orchestrated all of this, ensuring the entire sector's development followed his plan. The others' ideas were somewhat ahead of their time. If it weren't for that story, he wouldn't have been able to understand what Omega was trying to do.
Their conversation aroused even more curiosity among the assembled Primarchs.
It seemed that Omega had never even been to the surface of the planet, yet things were surprisingly going quite well. This was incredible, and Guilliman became interested in seeing it for himself.
The Emperor's arrival caused a huge commotion among the starport guards, and the massive fleet gradually approached the starport.
As soon as they disembarked, they were warmly welcomed by the starport soldiers. Some were even incredulous when they saw the Emperor, Chancellor Malcador, the Custodian Guard, the Primarchs, and many other important figures.
Alpharius was relieved to see that the soldiers were ready as always.
Omega stepped forward and introduced himself, and the soldiers then realized that he was the genetic prototype of the entire Alpha Legion.
After exchanging a few words of small talk to comfort the soldiers and ease their minds, all the soldiers gave the Primarch an excited salute, clearly showing that they were already very eager to serve him.
Omega explained to the officers and soldiers that the Emperor and his entourage had come to visit the planet Greenworth, and asked them to contact key figures to help the visitors learn more. The soldiers were immediately excited upon hearing this.
Omega made detailed arrangements, having each city send a representative and planning the Emperor's route based on available planetary information.
He then had the leading officer accompany them to introduce the planet to the Emperor and his entourage, buying time for the representatives to arrive.
Meanwhile, Alpharius secretly and quickly gathered detailed information about the planet to avoid any problems.
Horus and the others were speechless as they watched the two Primarchs bustling about, while the Emperor and Macardo didn't mind, instead asking the officer about the current situation on the planet.
Primarch Fulgrim of Son of the Emperor watched all this and exclaimed in astonishment. "I can't believe it. These soldiers don't even know who Omega is. It's unbelievable."
Rogal Dorn, who wished he could have built every brick of his fortresses himself, remarked, "I wholeheartedly agree with Malcador. The successful governance of this planet is all thanks to these officers, not Omega."
The other Primarchs exchanged glances and nodded in agreement, secretly marveling at Omega's good fortune. Governing this world was practically like getting a planet for free.
Angron, brandishing his great axe, asked, "Lorgar, are those two Alphas lying to us again?"
Lorgar said calmly, "This is entirely Omega's plan. Alpharius can't understand his brother's thinking either. One planet might be a coincidence, but if the entire sector is like this, then it's inevitable. Our brother might have pulled off a move we didn't expect. I'm quite curious about his thought process."
Konrad Curze said with a laugh, "The more you know, the more you overthink. Malcador himself said it was the officers' doing. These soldiers don't even know Omega. How can you attribute it to Omega's governance? He himself admitted he'd never been to this planet!"
Lorgar, too lazy to explain after being rebuffed, added, "Curze, I also suggest you go to the Ministry of Justice to study Imperial law and refine your path of justice."
The starport was a place where the Primarchs had much to observe. After a while, representatives from hundreds of cities on Greenworth were transported to the starport.
Upon seeing the Emperor, they were extremely excited, some even shedding tears. Seeing the Emperor filled these people with immense honor.
The Emperor stepped forward to comfort them, while Omega introduced each distinguished guest to them. After the introductions, these people were alarmed to discover the Alpha Legion Primarch had arrived.
With Omega as their core support, these representatives cooperated with him, suppressing their inner excitement to solemnly welcome the Emperor's arrival.
Horus, seeing that these people didn't recognize Omega, grumbled from the sidelines, "Even I feel sorry for you, brother. They worked so hard to build this planet, and what did you do in return?"
Omega replied, "My methods are only suitable for pioneering areas like the Media Sector. They wouldn't be appropriate for other, more populated human sectors."
"I didn't do much, but I'm grateful to them for fulfilling their responsibilities and building up this planet."
