Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: MAD

"STOOOOOP!"

A loud voice arose from a building, before Todd leapt up into the air, landing on the Witch and knocking her into the darkness, ending the flow of darkness from spreading, entirely on accident, before landing on the same roof as Damien and the King family.

They were all immediately on guard, with Karen raising her hand and taking a random planet out from the universe and bringing it to her grasp, able to be used as an explosive.

"Ah~ah~ah~!" Todd teased, unzipping his jacket and revealing several lines of grenades, strung around his body.

It was an obvious threat: "if you hurt me, you'll die."

It went unspoken, and Eugene ordered Karen to stand down. Todd smiled playfully and nodded his head.

"That's it, good ol' buddy ol' pal. Anyways, I have good news for you all."

The family was tense, and the major fighting stopped, as Todd, the commander of one side, ordered them to stop, and the weakened faction of African dragons were hesitant to pounce due to them still dealing with the thought of Arthur's continued existence.

However, they all immediately noticed that the Scent of a Traitor was gone, adding some relief.

Todd stood up on the ledge, seeming quite tall and smiley. "Damien, you've provided me with a reeaaally good opportunity. So that's why, I ask, that we end this war right here and now."

Damien's eyes widened. After all, he was worried that Todd was going to try and kill the entire King family upon his arrival, as a way to get rid of his most powerful adversaries. Yet, despite that, it seemed that he'd turned his sights on a more peaceful approach.

"You're not to be trusted," Eugene told him outright. "What do you want in return for this battle's end? Or shall we all kill you, right here and now?"

Todd kept a stupid grin on his face, before shaking his head and taking a singular step forward.

"Can you really do such a thing? I've got several allies, and they're all loaded to the brim with guns and explosives. I'm choosing peace, not for my sake, but for yours."

"Hmph. Quit being such a douchebag. Trying to sound all cool," Eugene told him. "I'm just being honest. Take a look at the situation surrounding you. Sure, you are the strongest in Africa, but your family isn't. You've got a human wife, two teenage children, and your sister. None of them could withstand direct gunfire, could they? Not like you, Eugene."

"I've got no doubts that you could do some crazy shit. But as it stands, you're held back by your family right now. You alone could definitely beat most of these dragons, if not all of them. I was only able to 'beat' you cause I pulled out weaponry that dragons simply refuse to use."

He continued.

"So, you could win. But your family cannot. Not to mention, you've used up your Ace's ability, gotta wait a bit, man."

Eugene closed his eyes and exhaled softly. Without pride or arrogance, he looked dead on at Todd.

"I want you to know, Todd, that this will not make us allies again in the future. However, if it's to protect my family, I'll go along with your whims, up to a certain point."

Todd nodded his head.

"Thank you. No, seriously, thank you, I'm grateful. If you didn't agree, this would've gone a whooole lot rougher. Anyways, my requests are not just for you, but for every other dragon in Africa."

The silent city, where all civilian cries were literally drowned out in mind-erasing darkness, wasn't too hard to hear in, after Todd took out a microphone from his bag.

"Surrender both in this battle, as well as surrender your Bloodline Ace's. That is my request to all African Dragons. Whichever family does not comply shall be killed, and their Ace's taken by force. That's our deal."

Eugene looked at him with confusion.

"What's the point in that?" He asked. "Anyone outside of the family cannot use that clan's Bloodline Ace."

Todd turned towards him.

"Well, it's because I'd rather not leave Africa, then get immediately beat up by several different families using their Bloodline Ace's. It's just the tax you gotta pay for me sparing your life."

Eugene scoffed. "Perhaps it's my older age getting to me, but my mind can't wrap around the idea. Every dragon in Africa went against it? You don't have the capabilities to kill all of us, as long as we all unite."

Todd paid no mind, before taking his phone out and calling someone.

"Hey, Marie, get Number… let's say Number 5, get Number 5 to target…"

Putting his mouth away from the phone, he asked if anyone would be willing to volunteer if they had any problems with such a request. Immediately, one dragon spoke up, confident in their ability to withstand any conflict.

Todd recognized them as a member of the Disease Dragons. He put the phone to his ear once more and gave their name.

"Show her Alastor, from the Disease guys. Yep. Mhm. Does she have MAD? Okay, get her to lop her head off with it. Thank you. Oh, and get ready to have all of the Numbers kill everyone on the list. Thanks."

Todd kept the phone up to his ear. Then, the dragon of disease had their head lopped off their shoulders. They regenerated their body, gasping for air.

"Oh, he healed. Do it again."

Their head was lopped off once more. This time, they could not regenerate.

"Do you understand what's going on now, everyone?"

That was what Todd said under his breath, talking purely to himself. The King family, those who heard his words, immediately refused to fight, indeed understanding what was going on.

Todd put the megaphone up to his mouth.

"Such was the power of the Oppen Family Ace, 'MAD.' To those unaware, our Ace allows us to reflect any damage done to the user with the weapon onto the target. My family and I have been working quite hard, getting enough children to offer as sacrifices. I've given the order for everyone to be killed at my command, or if I hang up without telling her to stop. So, what shall you do?"

Damien's eyes widened at the implications of his words.

"Y-you…?"

Todd didn't bat an eye at the youth. Rather, he made sure to see everyone else.

Overwhelming victory.

Jack had been saved, the casualties were minimal, though Arthur had killed over 25 dragons in his rampage.

Yet, that overwhelming victory belonged not to Damien, but to Todd.

Damien, yes, had stopped the war, and his friend had been saved too. However, Todd, without question, came out with much more.

He'd successfully united a world which had been against each other for so long. He'd given them a rush of exhilaration, and they, in turn, trusted and looked up to, respecting him.

He'd taken the Bloodline Ace's of many families as well, crippling their power and holding them on a leash.

They still remained in Africa, so the governments within the continent held little interest in seeking revenge, as they still had a fair amount of battle power in their dragons.

…On the arrival home, Damien and Jack both went to Jack's room. It was fairly quiet between them, and they booted up a game, playing together in silence.

Just as they were about to die, they heard a knock on the door. They died in the game, and Arthur got up, opening the door with irritation, before seeing a very tall, muscular white haired man with red eyes and a pink "kiss the cook" apron, no shirt underneath and comically large, white underwear with red hearts on.

"H-huh? Who the heck are…?"

"Hey, you broskie's bro? Damien, yeah?"

Damien nodded his head. "I'm Chad. Chad Graves. Don't worry, I'm not here to kill nobody. If I was, all y'all'd be dead."

Chad walked in, bumping into Damien and knocking him back onto the floor. Damien looked up at him, and Chad looked down at him, an empty expression.

"Ah. Ya really look nuthin' like broski. Well, whatevs. I heard he got sent to some other planet or whatnot. That true?"

Damien stood up, nodding his head.

"Aight. Nk, what a shame, what a shame. And I heard he was really at the level where he could have killed every dragon."

"D-do you know… know my older brother?"

Chad nodded his head. "Yep, that was my broski. Our bromance was short lived, but dattebayo, it's alright."

Chad seemed to be a bit disheartened. He sat down on Jack's bed, to which Jack told him to get off. Chad shook his head, saying, "nah, the voices tell me to not do that. The voices are telling me to give Arthur's final wish some thought, too."

"T-the voices?" Damien asked. "And his final wish?"

Chad nodded his head, before smacking his ear. "Yeah, the dang voices. Awful noisy every now and again, but y'know, they're fine, and I listen to them cause, y'know, it's nice having them around. That said, about the last part, yeah, his final wish, to kill every dragon."

It was silent. Both Jack and Damien grouped towards the other, Jack drawing a bone sword from his ribs.

Chad snickered a bit. "Oh, stop it, stop it, you goof. I won't start with y'all, since there're bigger chickens to cook. Oh yeah, by the way, I brought home some KFC, if ya want some?"

"No thanks," said Jack, eyeing Chad. Chad scratched his head awkwardly, before shrugging his shoulders.

"Y'know, I was wonderin'. Maybe bro was right. It might not be a bad idea to kill every dragon."

"W-what? No, you, you can't."

"Eh? Why not?"

"B-because! That's, that's evil."

Chad snickered and waved his hand. "Now now, don't get me wrong. I don't give a hoot about no 'evil' or 'good.' I'd say this potential goal of mine is beyond good and evil."

"Huh?"

A wide smile plastered itself on Chad's extremely handsome face.

"It's not to honor my dead broski either. What I'm really after, is to get rid of annoyances. Sure, my family pays for all my stuff, but I don't really care. If need be, I can always beat the shit out of the president, and make him give me moneyz."

He continued.

"All I hear is about these 'dragons.' Suddenly, I got some nerds from the Oppen family annoyin' me. And it's all so dang irritatin'. Which is why, I think I shall kill every dragon."

Once more, he continued.

"Just for fun, and to stop so many dang annoyin' pests."

He snickered. "But right now, I'm kinda too lazy to be doing allat. Maybe one day, I'll get the motivation to finally kill all y'all. But you can sleep without a teddybear t'night, boys, cause the boogeyman ain't gon' be comin' for ya in ya sleeps. Cya! Konichiwa!"

And with that all said and done, Chad left.
