"Nice try, but it looks like the fun's over," the young man said, still a little breathless but angry.
He was running out of patience and had already gone too far that night, and he didn't intend to back down.
But he still had that strange feeling from the night — the whole experience in the room was still fresh in his mind.
And something told him that this stranger was to blame. His intuition was almost always right, and he wanted to know what the hell had happened.
In his mind, Jaiden held the advantage there. He had experience in street fights, and he had cornered the intruder in a dead-end alley.
At worst, he still had the powers of the Supreme Lord System. Even without having tested them, he knew how to activate the skill that boosted his physical strength.
"Who are you?" Jaiden said in a controlled but threatening voice.
At that moment, the sky above the alley began to change. The dark cloud that had been covering the moonlight slowly gave way to the large silver sphere.
The pale blue light of the moon gradually illuminated the narrow corner where Jaiden stood, and for the first time, he finally saw who he had been chasing. The sight left him surprised.
Jaiden couldn't believe what he was seeing. He had imagined the intruder would be a classic thief.
'I expected a guy wearing pants and a hooded jacket…' Jaiden thought, furrowing his brow.
He had a simple plan in mind: he'd run after him, give him a good beating, and then hand over whatever was left to the police.
That would be the expected end for that night. But that's not what happened.
He didn't expect it to be a girl, much less dressed like that.
She had straight, dark blue hair, its color resembling the night sky, and her beautiful strands fell down to her shoulders.
She had two black, curved ornaments with pointed tips on top of her head that resembled horns.
Her fair skin looked flawless under the moonlight, almost hypnotic, and her beautiful eyes had irises of a purple hue, like two amethysts.
From that distance, it seemed to Jaiden that the girl was slightly shorter than him, probably around 1.70m (5′6.9″).
But what surprised him was her outfit from the neck down.
"What is this? Some kind of cosplay?" Jaiden asked the girl standing in front of him.
A sort of black cloak partially covered the upper part of her body, but it was open in the middle.
Under the cloak, the only thing covering her from the waist up was a kind of sexy black bikini.
From the waist down, she wore a short skirt paired with thigh-high stockings, connected to the bottom of the skirt by what seemed to be a garter belt.
For a moment, Jaiden was frozen by the girl's stunning curves, but he took a breath and forced himself to focus on the situation.
Despite her revealing outfit, the expression on her face didn't quite match her appearance.
There was nothing in her expression.Even though she had been running from him, her face showed neither fear nor anger. If her face truly reflected her feelings, one could say she felt nothing at all.
Jaiden had no intention of doing anything sexual with her—he wasn't that kind of guy—but it was strange how she didn't show even a hint of embarrassment about her body in a situation like this.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!" Jaiden said again, his impatience growing. "What's your name?"
The girl stared straight into the boy's face, and after a few seconds of silence...
"Suzanne Einz Heartzard," the young woman said.
Jaiden's eyes widened. He had never seen this girl before, nor had he ever heard that name, but he recognized her voice.
"Who are you?" Jaiden asked, still in shock.
"As I said, my name is—"
"That's not what I mean," Jaiden cut her off.
He stared at the girl in front of him. He remembered that voice.
How could he ever forget it?
A monotone, almost robotic voice — the same one he had heard from the Supreme Lord System.
"What are you?" Jaiden asked, changing his question.
For a moment, the girl looked at him, tilting her head slightly as if she were trying to understand what he meant.
"Isn't it obvious?" the girl replied in an expressionless tone.
"Not even close," Jaiden said, starting to get irritated. "What the hell are you? And why do you have that voice?"
"I've always had this voice…"
"Are you, like, mentally challenged or something?"
"My brain works perfectly fine."
"Sure doesn't sound like it!" Jaiden snapped, exhaling sharply. She had the same voice as the Supreme Lord System — and she was also the same person who had been in his room.
But he could tell she wasn't being malicious or hostile. The only issue was… she seemed completely clueless.
"Suzanne — that's your name, right?" Jaiden asked, as if talking to a child.
"Yes, I literally just told you," the girl replied flatly.
Jaiden tried to ignore how obnoxious she was. At least she didn't seem to be dodging his questions on purpose.
'So it's all about how I ask, huh?' Jaiden thought.
"Let me ask you a few questions. First of all, what were you doing in my room?"
"It's my function, so it's only natural that I was there," Suzanne said, as if Jaiden should already know what she meant. Of course, he had no idea.
"And what exactly is your function, my dear Suzanne?" Jaiden asked, trying to keep his composure.
The girl looked at him with mild surprise, scanning him from head to toe before speaking.
"Sir, do you not know who I am?" she finally said — with a hint of emotion in her voice. Confusion.
"I have no idea. Never seen you in my life. The only thing I know is that I've heard your voice from the System," Jaiden said.
"I don't know of any… system. My function is to provide assistance to the heir of the Supreme Lord," the girl finally said, giving an answer Jaiden could actually relate to.
