Chapter 171 - Chapter 171 When Expressing Gratitude, Show Your Sincerity

Yusei waved his hand, "It's nothing. But I've heard that when expressing gratitude, one should show their sincerity."

"Huh?" Hina didn't understand the meaning behind Yusei's words.

The maid standing nearby gave Yusei a disdainful look and reminded her, "Yusei-sama means you should show your... assets when thanking him."

The girl's face turned bright red instantly. She glared at Yusei and spat out two words.

"As expected."

Yusei was just teasing the girl a bit. Seeing she seemed alright, he felt relieved.

"As expected what?"

"That you did it on purpose yesterday. Matsuko-nee said you didn't mean to."

Yusei chuckled lightly a couple of times.

"Let's go have breakfast. I'll go wash up first."

The maid nodded with a smile and led Hina away first.

After washing up, Yusei saw Hina was already waiting.

Yusei went over without any particular ceremony and directly picked up his chopsticks.

"Let's eat. Don't stand on ceremony."

'Then again, this isn't my house either.'

Hina had only had a bowl of porridge last night and was already very hungry. Hearing Yusei's words, she immediately nodded and started eating.

Perhaps it was her first time eating such delicious food, the girl's face was filled with a happy smile.

It was completely different from her weak, wretched state yesterday.

With her dirty appearance yesterday, it was impossible to tell what she looked like. But now, it was clear she was another absolutely beautiful girl.

Dressed in a kimono, her long hair smooth and flowing, her face flushed, eating with a happy smile.

She was a girl who could infect others with her smile. Looking at her smile, Yusei unconsciously felt his own mood improve considerably.

After breakfast, Yusei didn't forget to ask about the girl's background.

"Who are you? How did you end up unconscious there?"

The girl hesitated, "I... I told you my name yesterday, Amano Hina. I'm from the countryside in another city. I came to Tokyo to find work, but I lost my wallet, so..."

Yusei nodded. The girl's name was Amano Hina, that much was fine.

'But... coming to Tokyo to work?'

"How old are you?" Yusei gave the girl a strange look.

"Eighteen."

Yusei nodded slightly. In Japan, minors aren't allowed to work, and eighteen was reasonable. He just hadn't expected this girl to be two years older than him.

Yusei looked the girl up and down, making her feel somewhat uncomfortable. Her pretty face flushed slightly, and she couldn't help but speak up.

"What are you looking at?"

"I was just thinking you're actually two years older than me? You look just like a middle schooler."

"Is it strange for a high school student to be eighteen?"

"Well... I guess not."

Yusei didn't dwell on the issue. He then asked, "So, that means you lost all your money and identification?"

The girl nodded, her eyes somewhat evasive.

Yusei didn't pay it much mind. He turned to the maid beside him.

"Can you help her get an ID made?"

"It's a very easy matter."

"Huh?"

The conversation between the two made the girl pause, "It's easy?"

The maid, Matsuko, had taken a liking to the girl. So she explained with a smile, "This is the Shinomiya Residence. With the Shinomiya Family's influence in Japan, we can do almost anything. Something as simple as an ID is no problem at all."

Matsuko looked at the girl, "Your name is Amano Hina, right? Please wait a moment. I'll contact the Metropolitan Police Department. The ID will be ready very quickly."

When the girl heard the words [Metropolitan Police Department], her pupils contracted. She quickly spoke up to stop her.

"N-No, it's okay! I... I think I remember where I lost my wallet now. I can go look for it myself."

"Huh? But..."

"Please, don't go to the trouble. You've already saved me, and I'm very grateful." The girl forced a smile.

Seeing her insistence, Yusei could only agree.

"Alright. If you can't find it, just let us know. It's really no trouble."

After the maid Matsuko withdrew, Yusei looked at the girl.

"So, what do you plan to do now? Continue trying to make it in Tokyo? Or go back to your hometown?"

"By the way, if you want to go back home, I can kindly provide you with the money for the train ticket."

"N-No, it's fine." The girl seemed hesitant to look directly at Yusei. She said dejectedly, "Actually... I don't really know what to do either. I wanted to find a job in Tokyo, one where I don't have to interact with too many people... preferably working alone."

"Preferably working alone?" Yusei thought about his own manga project.

'Hmm, that is a solitary job. Hiring a manga assistant could work.'

Thinking for a moment, Yusei looked up at the girl.

"Do you know about manga?"

"Yes."

"Can you draw?"

The girl looked embarrassed, "I... I can't."

Yusei helplessly facepalmed, "Never mind. Let's have you try drawing first, see if you have any talent."

"Drawing manga can be the job I'm offering you. It's something you can do alone."

"Okay."

Soon, Yusei had a maid bring drawing tools.

Under Yusei's guidance, the girl started drawing, trying to copy the manuscript Yusei had drawn.

The girl was extremely serious and focused. However... it seemed she had absolutely no talent in this area.

Two hours later, Yusei looked at the 'manga' she had drawn and was speechless.

The girl also knew the huge gap between her drawing and the original. She couldn't help but lower her head in disappointment.

Yusei shook his head.

"You have no talent in this."

Hearing Yusei's words, the girl hung her head even lower.

She didn't blame Yusei, she was already very grateful. He had offered so much help, not only willing to help her return to her non-existent 'hometown' but also helping her find a job.

The fact that she had no talent here wasn't anyone else's fault.

She had deceived him, and on top of that, he had been so kind to her. The girl already felt very guilty.

Then, she looked up at Yusei.

"I... I should just go by myself. Thank you for taking care of me, Yusei-sama."

She didn't know what to call Yusei, so she could only follow Matsuko's way of addressing him.

Yusei glanced at her, "What can you do if you go out?"

Before the girl could reply, Yusei suddenly had an idea.

"Ah, right! You can be my secretary. Even though I'm just a small-time artist now, I'll grow eventually. Help me organize my manuscripts, serve tea, that kind of thing." Yusei said, "Fifty thousand yen per month, room and board included. It's low, but the work is mainly serving tea and water, very easy."
