Chapter 251 - Chapter 251 Two Divine Authority Crystals

An intangible force surged towards Yusei.

Yusei, already prepared, took out the crystal ball provided by the system.

Guided by Yusei, the power of the Authorities that once belonged to Verethragna was drawn into the crystal ball.

Finally, the crystal ball changed color, settling into a sun-like hue.

Yusei stuck a note labeled [God of Victories] on it and stored it back into the system space.

His system space was opened during specific periods for placing the crystal balls.

Initially, it was just a small backpack, but now, he could open up an additional one square meter of space.

Beside him, Erica was still processing the fact that Verethragna had been slain.

"This... this is it? He's dead?"

"Yes." Yusei nodded.

"Is slaying a god really this easy?" Erica had never truly witnessed a Campione slaying a god before.

But for it to happen so calmly, without earth-shattering scenes, made her feel as if she were dreaming.

She even had the illusion that Heretic Gods were weak.

But soon, her intelligence told her this was a special case. It wasn't that the Heretic God was too weak, but that the one beside her was somewhat strong.

Verethragna's sudden demise immediately drew the attention of his opponent, Melqart, towards Yusei.

"And now it's my turn for the second lightning javelin? The behavior of a Campione?" Melqart said solemnly.

Yusei knew Melqart had expended immense energy fighting Verethragna, so he wasn't foolish enough to fall for the other's provocation.

This was a lightning javelin imbued with the Lightning Authority. Each strike possessed the power to damage a Divine Core.

While Melqart and Verethragna certainly had defenses, in their current state of near-exhaustion, it was difficult for them to resist Yusei.

Melqart continuously dodged the lightning javelins in a panic, but his gigantic body was like a target.

Even while vigilantly watching Yusei, several javelins pierced his defensive spells and wounded him.

The colossal body stumbled and fell sideways after a javelin struck its knee.

Seizing this opportunity, countless bolts of lightning flashed down from the sky.

The combination of Sunshine Girl and Takemikazuchi's Thunder Authority made Yusei's lightning power purer and stronger than ever before.

Melqart, already heavily injured, couldn't withstand the overwhelming lightning at all.

His defenses lasted merely a second before being shattered.

His body charred black, he roared furiously, his massive hand slamming hard onto the ground. Countless skeletal undead and vengeful spirits emerged from beneath the earth, swarming towards Yusei.

This was his Authority: The Netherworld Legion.

Yusei chuckled darkly. With mischievous amusement, he amplified the power of his right eye, enhancing the ability to control the Netherworld Legion to its maximum.

The legion of undead that had been charging towards Yusei suddenly stopped, then turned around and attacked Melqart instead.

This was originally Melqart's Authority, but after being enhanced by Yusei's right eye, Yusei's control over the Authority surpassed Melqart's own.

The strength of the abilities copied by Yusei's eyes was calculated based on his own energy.

It must be said that after obtaining Takemikazuchi's Authority, his overall energy level had risen by a significant stage.

"What?!"

Melqart couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't expect to see the legion he had summoned was attacking him.

But Yusei had no intention of explaining. The upper body of the Susanoo Armor formed around him. A massive hand condensed a lightning javelin, radiating a terrifying aura several times more powerful than before.

The lightning javelin cut through the air, unhindered, and pierced straight through Melqart's head.

The power of the Authorities surged towards Yusei. Yusei repeated the process, sealing the Authorities into a crystal ball.

The colorless crystal ball shifted through several hues before finally settling on a deep, solemn white. Faint dragon roars seemed to echo from within.

'Does this represent the dragon? Melqart is a mighty dragon-slaying warrior. Does this mean his strongest Authority is a special attack against dragonkind?' Yusei wondered, 'A pity I'm not a dragon, so I won't have the chance to witness its true power.'

The gigantic Melqart vanished, leaving behind a large crater and the surrounding land scorched black by the lightning explosions.

Erica stared dumbfounded at the distant battlefield, "It's... over?"

Yusei put away the two Divine Authority Crystals. Additionally, the Prometheus' Grimoire was also stored inside.

'Using other people's abilities has restrictions, requiring at least a god-level. At that level, most abilities are already obsolete.'

"Let's go. I'm a bit tired after fighting for so long." Yusei's voice carried a hint of fatigue.

Erica quickly said, "Of course! Everything has been prepared. Please, Yusei-sama, come to the car, and we will return to the villa."

"Mhm."

As Erica led Yusei towards the car, she felt hesitant but still asked, "May I ask... did Yusei-sama gain any new Authorities?"

"Mhm." Yusei responded casually. He hadn't actually gained the Authorities himself, but from an outsider's perspective, a Campione who slays a Heretic God naturally obtains their Authorities. Erica was somewhat confused.

She knew the Authorities involved. On one side were the Ten Incarnations, and on the other were Melqart's Authorities. The Copper-Black Cross had intelligence on these, though details on Melqart's Authorities were somewhat lacking. So, she was very curious to know which ones Yusei had acquired.

Yusei stopped walking and looked at Erica with a faint, ambiguous smile, "Do I need to report to you?"

Erica was taken aback, her expression instantly becoming awkward, "N-No, of course not! I was just curious. Please forgive my presumption, Yusei-sama."

Yusei didn't pay her any further mind and walked towards the car by himself.

Regarding the Copper-Black Cross's overtures, including sending this woman to his side, he wasn't nearly so self-important as to think it was unconditional.

Take Erica, for example.

In the original work, when dealing with Kusanagi Godou, she quickly grasped his heart by 'prescribing the right medicine'.

Now, after her initial 'hints' failed because Yusei showed no interest in her, she immediately changed her strategy.

Yusei wasn't interested in the so-called 'female leads' of the original work. Because he knew that a woman who could change her attitude so easily would, one hundred percent, betray you.
