His actions just now were indeed meant to establish his authority… to put on a grand show and let everyone know he wasn't to be trifled with.
Even without Kayneth, Yusei would have found some pretext to show off. If it weren't Kayneth, it would have been Matou Zouken. In short, someone was bound to be used as an example.
Originally, he only wanted to demonstrate his 'speed'. But he didn't expect that the moment he appeared behind Kayneth, a sharp spear thrust came at him.
Yusei had no Noble Phantasm as a weapon, so how could he dare to block it directly? He had no choice but to activate the Ruler's class ability… immunity to damage once every twenty-four hours.
That was how he managed to block the spear tip with his finger. In reality, he wouldn't dare to touch a Noble Phantasm with his bare finger.
As for the 'speed resembling spatial movement' earlier, it was indeed spatial movement. Yusei had utilized his authority to use two Command Spells per Servant, using a Command Spell to teleport himself behind Kayneth.
He wanted to establish his authority but nearly failed and wasted one damage immunity opportunity.
Yusei mentally noted this down, 'Time was still long, I could deal with Lancer slowly.'
Now, aside from the Caster faction, the other six factions were all gathered. Some had their Servants accompanying them, while others did not.
These magi were all cunning and calculating, secretly considering whether to take the opportunity to kill the Masters without Servants present.
If such an attempt failed, and the other party used a Command Spell to summon their Servant, they would face not only the wrath of the other Masters but also the judgment of the Ruler Servant.
After weighing the options, figures like Kayneth, who had just been subdued by Yusei in one move, abandoned the idea.
Similarly, the Saber Faction's Kiritsugu, remotely watching the scene from hundreds of meters away, also gave up on the notion.
However, while he gave up on having Saber act, he wouldn't give up entirely.
Such a good opportunity was naturally better handled with a sniper rifle.
Magi were, after all, still human. A shot to the head would still kill them.
Each Master harbored their own schemes, but for now, they sat exceptionally obediently, waiting for Yusei's address from the platform.
Yusei didn't have much to say.
Today's goal was simply to show his face, distribute some Command Spells, and let them understand what kind of existence this Ruler was.
The main purpose was still to establish authority and subconsciously cement in their minds that the Ruler was a fair entity, a Servant not participating in the Holy Grail War, only responsible for management.
Only then could Yusei carry out his subsequent plans.
After all, he wasn't just the Holy Grail System's Ruler, he was also dispatched by the system's mission.
If he guessed correctly, his ultimate goal was still to obtain the Holy Grail.
For now, he would secretly incite these factions to fight amongst themselves, and finally, he, the 'fisherman', would reap the rewards.
The so-called meeting ended quickly. It simply stated that this Holy Grail War would be witnessed by him, and that he was a fair and just individual who rejected deceit and trickery.
Of course, him saying this was one thing, and whether the seven Masters listened was another.
However, there was a minor incident as the meeting concluded. A bullet, from an unknown source, flew directly towards Tokiomi.
Yusei had previously guaranteed that during the meeting, he would be responsible for all Masters' safety, so he intercepted it for Tokiomi.
There was no need to guess who would use a sniper rifle… it was undoubtedly Emiya Kiritsugu.
Yusei didn't mind and didn't concern himself with it, merely watching indifferently as all the Masters left the Holy Church's grounds.
Once they left this area, life and death were no longer his concern.
It's worth mentioning that Saber's expression wasn't great, likely because she understood who fired that sniper rifle.
As the King of Knights, she undoubtedly despised and felt ashamed of such assassination attempts. She said nothing, silently leaving with Irisviel.
The others did the same, but one person did not leave.
Yusei sat on the roof of the Holy Church, gazing at the crescent moon in the sky, and said, "Shouldn't the elderly return home early?"
"Kekekeke."
A strange, cackling laugh sounded. A gaunt, withered old man emerged from below.
Yusei withdrew his gaze from the sky and looked down at Matou Zouken standing in the shadows of the trees.
"Ruler, how about we make a deal?"
"A deal? I am the Ruler. What could I possibly want? Besides, I am the Ruler. Aren't you afraid I'll disqualify you for openly attempting to bribe me?" Yusei glanced at him and spoke indifferently.
"Kekekeke. I was a bit worried before, but not anymore. You didn't directly rebuke me. Instead, you explained you have nothing you want. This proves your commitment to fairness isn't absolute," Zouken said.
Yusei smiled faintly but didn't speak, looking at Zouken with interest, "Let's hear it. What can you offer me?"
"The chance to wish upon the Holy Grail. How about that?" Zouken's tone was full of temptation.
"The Holy Grail's wish? Hah." Yusei gave a noncommittal laugh.
Zouken assumed he didn't believe him and explained, "I am the Master of the Berserker Faction. A Servant who has lost their sanity can only be used as a tool for battle. I offer you that unused wish opportunity. How does that sound?"
"Among the seven standard classes, only the Berserker Faction can provide such an opportunity. It's a rare chance. Even as the Ruler, you must have a wish you want to fulfill, right?"
Yusei looked at Zouken and said, "You're not even the real Master. How can you negotiate such terms with me?"
"So, if you want to negotiate, have the real Master come find me."
"I didn't expect you to discover that. Kekekeke. Very well, I will have the real Master come find you tomorrow. I hope you consider it carefully."
After speaking, Zouken's body dissolved into countless insects, dispersing into the shadows.
Yusei watched, feeling nauseated, inwardly sneering repeatedly.
'You think you can cooperate with me? Just watch how I screw you over so badly you won't even recognize your own mother. So, it's Matou Kariya coming to find me tomorrow? Perfect timing to put my plan into action.'
Yusei didn't plan to act personally. Since he was the Ruler, he needed to minimize his direct involvement at this stage to avoid detection by others.
If the others realized this Ruler intended to participate, all the Masters might likely unite to hunt him down.
Even with the 24-hour damage immunity ability, he couldn't withstand that.
For now, prioritizing the elimination of some Servants was more important.
