Chapter 295 - Chapter 2: News from the Headmaster

"This Gall is probably a wild wizard."

Moody noticed where Vid's gaze landed and suddenly spoke.

"Wild wizard?" Vid asked.

Moody tapped the floor with his cane and said, "Vampires are like werewolves, their bites are incurable. No magic school would ever enroll these creatures..."

He suddenly remembered that among his colleagues in the Order of the Phoenix, there was a werewolf.

A werewolf who graduated from Hogwarts.

So Moody corrected himself:

"...would enroll vampires. He might have learned some messy magic from magic books, but his level is inconsistent and uneven."

"So his magic is probably not very good?" Vid asked.

"Don't be complacent, kid," Moody said seriously, "Such people can sometimes be more dangerous than orthodox wizards...because he might not even know what terrifying consequences his spell could cause."

Vid felt helpless.

In the past ten days after the holidays, he had fully recognized how severe Moody's paranoia was.

In his eyes, even a little Muggle girl holding flowers could be a dark wizard in disguise.

The reason the Greys could get along peacefully with Moody was partly because they were introduced by Dumbledore and needed protection; on the other hand, the couple were completely non-magical, which seemed "safe" in Moody's eyes.

And the alarm that initially prompted the Greys to hide here had actually been lifted long ago.

The members of the joint investigation team all thought that the dark wizards stealing children probably hadn't targeted the Greys.

Even if they had once had bad intentions, the attention from the Ministry of Magic would have made them give up.

But Ferdinand chose not to move back.

In the six months they had lived here, they had become accustomed to the leisurely life of the small town.

Moody was quirky indeed, but not a lunatic who would harm others randomly, and sometimes he would even expand the concealment magic on his own house following the Greys' request.

This way, even during daylight, Fiona wouldn't need to draw the curtains to hide the magic items at home; several little dolls could move freely.

The Prophet Daily could also be left casually on the table without worrying about any visiting Muggle guests seeing it and causing a commotion to draw attention.

And even if a Muggle looked towards their house unintentionally when passing by, their brain would only tell them—

"Everything is normal, nothing special."

...

After seeing Moody off, Vid went back upstairs, organized his completed homework, then sat at the desk to reply to the messages he received in his Friendship Book.

Nowadays, his Friendship Book had already grown into a thick volume.

Machioni said the Flow Mirror had already been stocked in sufficient numbers, preparing to profit greatly during the summer holidays, and sales would begin simultaneously in seven countries in a few days.

The initial TV programs were also ready—

Video clips of Hogwarts students challenging the Ball Python.

The recent Quidditch matches of world-class teams.

Concert footage of the famous singer Sedina Wobek.

Footage of the Little Fire Dragon from hatching to adulthood.

And—

Muggle movies, Muggle TV shows, Muggle concerts, and talk shows.

There was no way around it— the magic world is usually very calm, rarely having major events; even when something does happen, Machioni lacked reporters to record it.

For wizards, magic is like eating and drinking, simply part of life, nothing particularly worth showcasing.

For the same reason, Muggle magic shows were scratched off Machioni's broadcast list, but he retained all those other exciting TV programs, believing they would bring in a large audience.

Which would then lead to the Flow Mirror selling out, Golden Galleons pouring into his treasury like torrential rain.

Vid expressed agreement with his optimistic expectations and suggested that Muggle magic shows are not necessarily worth discarding.

Such programs might be interesting for wizards as well; they could explore how Muggles achieve the show effects without magic.

Next was a message from Professor Morry.

He answered the alchemy-related question Vid had raised last time and mentioned receiving an intriguing invitation letter recently.

"...There will be many ancient alchemy items exhibited, and although the crafting techniques are outdated, the concepts are still greatly stimulating for us today and worth a look..."

"If you have no other plans at the time, you can join me..."

Vid naturally replied: "Of course, I'm very much looking forward to it."

Harry's message arrived shortly after, mainly expressing envy over the Weasley family winning the annual grand prize and getting to travel to Egypt while he was stuck doing homework.

Currently, Harry's greatest enjoyment was watching his godfather argue with Uncle Vernon every day.

During the holidays, Harry did not send SOS messages to any friends.

After Peter Pettigrew's prison escape was discovered, Sirius and Lupin immediately arrived by Harry's side. The Dursley family didn't have extra rooms, so Sirius went ahead and spent a large sum of money to buy the house next door.

With both of them keeping watch, the Dursley family naturally didn't dare lock Harry up anymore, and they returned his magic book and wand after Vernon had thrown them in a cupboard.

Moreover, aside from those two, the Ministry of Magic had also dispatched an Auror to guard nearby, claiming this achievement multiple times in the newspaper to show— they weren't shirking all responsibilities.

"Remus says, given Peter Pettigrew's nature, he might continue hiding. But if he feels he can't hide anymore, he might seek Voldemort out, which would be worse..."

Harry wrote in his letter: "If Voldemort makes a comeback, the wizarding world might face another war... I hope that day never comes..."

Vid echoed a few sentiments without mentioning he'd already dealt with Peter himself.

Others also shared their travel experiences or thoughts regarding the prison escape incident.

Vid's responses gradually became mechanical and similar. As he lazily flipped through the Friendship Book, ready to write, he suddenly noticed something unusual about this time's content.

Long and looping fonts outlined a sentence that snapped him into focus—

"The research on the Slytherin Pendant Box has concluded, and I'm preparing to destroy it soon—perhaps you would want to witness this moment too?"

"P.S.: I've already invited Kreacher and Sirius, and they generously forgave me for taking far too long on this matter."

Vid instantly sat up straight, staring at the message from Dumbledore.

New lines appeared—

"Dumbledore: Harry also requested to join, and I've agreed."

"I consider July 19th to be quite a suitable day."
