Chapter 983 - Chapter 76: The Jellyfish That Should Not Exist

As Adebayor was instantly swept up by the raging air currents and shot out of the plane, newspapers, magazines, meal trays, and blankets all rushed toward the breach.

Nearby passengers weren't spared either; they quickly grabbed the armrests of their seats, uttering terrified screams from their throats.

Accompanied by the howling wind, a piercing cold rushed in with the thin air, causing the cabin temperature to drop rapidly below freezing, making those in short sleeves and shorts feel as though they had fallen into an ice cave.

The passengers' emotions shifted from brief shock and remorse to extreme fear.

But this time, the panic was suppressed by the immense physical force; everyone felt it was difficult to breathe, their lungs seemingly gripped tightly by a cold hand, and the violent airflow left them unable to converse, forcing them to grip the armrests in vain with their faces written in the despair of suffocation.

Lupin had just helped Sirius up from the floor when he saw Adebayor leap out of the hole and immediately shouted in anger:

"That guy's getting away!"

Moody, limping and yet running fast, charged toward the breach drawn by the airflow, roaring, "I'm going to kill that bastard!"

"Take this with you!"

Vid pulled out a pencil case, shook it in the air, and the pencil case instantly turned into a wardrobe space, from which two brooms flew out.

Moody, nearly falling out of the breach, quickly reached out to summon one of the brooms, while Lupin silently released Sirius, grabbed the broom that swept by him, and mounted it, surprisingly charging out of the breach before Moody.

"Ahhhhh——Help me————"

Thomas O'Brien let out a heart-wrenching scream.

He had just tried to help a female passenger who was almost sucked out, only to dislocate his own shoulder and be swept swiftly toward the breach by the current.

The man's shoulder slammed against the seat back with a thud, his head poking through the breach with half of his body outside, when suddenly an immense force pulled at his ankle.

Meanwhile, the screams in the cabin climbed to a new peak, as if the passengers had seen ghosts.

Thomas O'Brien had no time to think; his mind was entirely occupied by fear and a will to survive, his hands flailing randomly in the air, grasping at nothing, screaming continuously.

Various small objects flying from the cabin kept hitting his body like countless bullets, yet O'Brien felt no pain, praying that the person behind him wouldn't let go.

Fortunately, the person holding him was incredibly strong, managing to win the tug-of-war with the air pressure and the fierce wind, pulling Thomas O'Brien back into the cabin bit by bit.

Finally, the man stepped back onto the solid floor of the plane, trembling all over as he knelt, nearly breaking into tears.

As he caught his breath, Thomas O'Brien's first instinct was to express his gratitude to his savior, no matter what.

"Thanks, friend. You saved my life, if we survive this, I'll definitely…"

He spoke while looking up, but before he could finish, his hoarse voice suddenly halted.

Thomas O'Brien finally understood why the passengers had screamed so terribly earlier—

Dozens of long tentacles were swaying gently in the air, each one thicker than O'Brien's arm.

Seeing these tentacles, Thomas O'Brien realized why his savior had won the "tug-of-war" just now…

The one holding him wasn't a human at all, but rather those terrifying tentacles!

Not just O'Brien, but the passengers and seats near the breach were almost all held by the tentacles, preventing them from being sucked out, leaving only some small items to be hurled into the void.

And behind the tentacles, an even larger body slowly squeezed out from a narrow doorway—

A giant jellyfish that, at a glance, would cause one's SAN value to plummet!

Thomas O'Brien was stunned, frozen in place, watching as the jellyfish floated in the air, gliding past him, and then with a "plop," it fit snugly into the breach, filling the hole in the plane perfectly.

At this point, its tentacles waved as it released the other passengers.

This time, the passengers didn't scream; they looked on with expressions of stupefaction and confusion, faces still frozen in screaming poses, their eyes wandering like sleepwalkers at the jellyfish that shouldn't be on the plane, much less exist at all.

Thomas O'Brien turned his head inch by inch, looking toward the entrance of the economy class.

Harry was kneeling on the ground, barely supporting Sirius's upper body. Hermione was trying hard to hold back her tears, carefully feeding a bottle of magic potion to Sirius.

Then Vid emerged from the wardrobe space with two more bottles of magic potion in hand.

"This is the best antidote, a custom version by Professor Snape." Vid crouched and handed the potion to Hermione, saying, "Give this to him as well, and he'll make it to St Mungo's just fine."

Hermione nodded vigorously, clumsily opening the cap.

Hearing Snape's name, Harry instinctively frowned and asked, "Vid, can this be trusted? How did Snape's antidote end up with you?"

Vid replied, "Because I'm not in Gryffindor? Professor Snape wouldn't target me on purpose."

Harry was speechless.

He still couldn't accept the idea that "for some students, Snape might be a good professor," but seeing the dreadful dark blue fading from Sirius's face, Harry breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a bit of gratitude toward Snape.

"I say—"

A voice came from behind them.

Victor gestured forward and said, "Shouldn't we deal with that as well?"

A young man, half-kneeling on the floor, stood up; his face was blackened by smoke, yet he wore a relaxed smile.

Putting away his drill, he pointed to a finger-thick hole by his foot and said loudly:

"The entire cargo hold below has caught fire! Nearly all the luggage inside is probably burned to ash! The fire's pretty scary, and if left unchecked, the important lines will soon get destroyed as well!"

Thomas O'Brien blankly watched him—how could he speak of such a terrifying thing with such a relaxed tone?

The expressions of the other passengers bore some similarity to his; their emotions, exhausted from the roller coaster of ups and downs, had no strength left for screams, only an acceptance of "Ah… we're doomed for sure now."

"Is that so…"

Vid sighed and said, "These guys are even crazier than I expected…"

Victor raised an eyebrow and laughed, "Good thing you were prepared, right?"

Vid shrugged: "No choice, I can't fall into the same pit twice."

While speaking, he raised his palm and snapped his fingers with a "pop."

Instantly, dozens, if not hundreds, of stone poppets, bearing sandbags, dirt, or dry ice on their heads, poured out from the wardrobe space!
