Chapter 9 Part 2: Rising Tensions
Anna clenched her teeth and looked at Lu Fei.
Lu Fei nodded encouragement.
They had maxed out their growth
Efficiency demanded a change.
It was time to lay cards on the table face the witch.
"Sage, please help me prepare the awakening ritual. I want the witch's power!"
Anna's gaze was unwavering.

"Sage… did it work?"
"Of course, Anna. You did well. This time you've succeeded again."
His low voice brightened magnetic.
Anna frowned.
"And then? I don't feel any witch power."
"Of course not one last step remains."
"Last step?"
"Yes…"
Anna grew drowsy her body slackened.
The Sage's hand swept
She fell neatly into his arms
And he carried her away.
"Of course, Anna girl the last step is important."

Half-conscious Anna opened her eyes.
"Where is this?"
She lay on a snow-white bed.
At least her body felt fine
But she sensed no witch power.
The Sage had issues after all!
"You're awake, Anna."
In came a man in white robes, mask hiding his face.
"Sage you lied to me!"
Anna's voice was cold.
"No, no I did not. Every word I spoke was true."
"But I haven't awakened the witch's power."
"Because one last step remains."
"What step?"
She was more puzzled than ever.
The Sage smiled ripped off his mask revealing a handsome face.
"Become my woman, Anna."
Seeing the face Anna's eyes shot wide.
"You! Morgan!"
"How are you here? Weren't you… taken away?"
Morgan laughed.
"Yes carried off but now I'm back. That is fate each time you become my woman. This time too."
"I look forward to our happy days in the alternate space."
"Don't you dare!"
Anna gritted her teeth and glared.
"Dare? No use, Anna. Why do you think I'm here why I became the Sage?"
"Her arrangement so I could have you."
"All right time is short let's begin."

Anna kept her face cold and glared.
Morgan laughed ripped off his robe baring a level-9 adventurer's powerful torso.
