Chapter 608 - Chapter 334: Visitor

The newly purchased land is divided into two types: one is mountainous, the other is flat.

The flat ground is covered with lush grass, which seems perfect for grazing.

Then, Naoki climbed up the small hill and gazed into the distance from the top. From there, he could see the back of the mountain in the distance, and even a corner of the Abundant Shrine faintly appeared.

Naoki was thinking about planting a bunch of apple trees on this little hill in the future, just like Apple Hill in Kitakami.

Some Pokemon also inhabit this land, like the light and airy Hoppip family.

This kind of Pokemon has a small, round, pink body with two long green leaves sprouting from its head.

Their small yellow eyes looked at the world with innocence and liveliness, their tiny arms and legs waving gently in the air, and a little pink tail swaying like a cat's.

When the wind blows, these Hoppip and Jumpluff are swept into the sky, drifting gently with the wind, and then flying away.

"Indeed, just like recorded in the Pokédex, the bodies of Hoppip are very light," Naoki murmured as he observed the scene.

They move around with the wind. It's said that there were no Hoppip in the Paldea Region initially until one day some Hoppip were blown across the sea, reaching the Paldea Region.

From then on, the Paldea Region also had Hoppip.

Besides Hoppip, Floette and Flabebe also inhabit this field.

The place where Floette resides is a wildflower cluster.

They are very small, not even as big as a palm, holding a flower in their arms and flying around the blossoms.

For some reason, seeing these Pokemon reminded Naoki of the Thumbelina from Andersen's fairy tales.

His presence disturbed the group of Floette and Flabebe.

These little guys immediately hid behind the flowers, cautiously watching him.

When Naoki made eye contact with them, Flabebe and Floette would immediately tuck their heads in, quite like covering their ears while stealing a bell.

Naoki couldn't help but chuckle. He didn't disturb the group of Flabebe and Floette. After inspecting his domain, he turned and returned to the ranch.

Early the next day, Naoki found Keri and ordered a wooden fence from her, also asking her to help build a bridge on the ranch.

Keri happened to be free, so she simply pulled up the building materials and drove the big truck, carrying Naoki to the ranch.

Machamp and Conkeldurr were sitting in the back compartment alongside a pile of wood, stones, and cement.

Naoki sat in the passenger seat and curiously asked, "Do you need a driver's license to drive this kind of vehicle?"

"Of course," Keri nodded. "You need a driver's license no matter what kind of vehicle it is. Why? Are you thinking of buying a car?"

"Yes, the ranch has expanded, so I'm thinking of buying a vehicle for transporting goods," Naoki replied honestly.

Keri said, "In that case... you don't need to buy a big truck like mine, a pickup should be enough. It's just right for carrying berries, corn, carrots, and such crops, and it's not expensive either."

"Of course, if you want to go out and don't feel like riding Koraidon, you could drive a pickup and take your Pokemon on a trip outside."

Hearing this, Naoki imagined himself driving a pickup truck loaded with Pokemon down the highway.

And indeed, it was quite an appealing thought.

Capturing a Revavroom wasn't feasible at the moment, and he didn't know the modification method either. So for now, it was more convenient to just buy a pickup.

But first, he'd have to get a driver's license.

He just wasn't sure if this world had driving schools or similar places...

With a slight thought, Naoki voiced his question aloud.

Keri answered one by one, "You don't have to go all the way to the Pokemon League Headquarters; getting a driver's license isn't like getting a Breeder certification. There's a vehicle management office here in Porto Marinada Town. You can take the test there, and if you pass, they'll issue your certificate directly."

"Hmm... the exam content is simple, mostly basic tasks like driving around obstacles, which is very easy compared to becoming a Breeder."

"That's good," Naoki breathed a sigh of relief. This way, he wouldn't have to go to a driving school or similar place.

He had taken driving school exams in his previous life and could drive. Now he just needed to take an exam to get his driver's license directly.

Keri looked at the road ahead, full of sentiment, "Life is full of uncertainties!"

"Hmm?" Naoki raised an eyebrow.

Keri smiled and said, "I was reminded of some past things. Back when I learned to drive, I just wanted to drive and take my Pokemon to travel around the world. But who would've thought I'd never go anywhere, always staying in this place as a carpenter."

"Road trip, huh?" Naoki imagined it and nodded, "Sounds great. Do you plan to go out later then?"

Keri sighed helplessly, "I'd love to! But I can't leave these Pokemon behind. Not just Machamp and the others but everyone in that forest as well."

"If I'm not here and they get hurt, there'd be no one to treat them. So, as they say, plans can't keep up with changes!"

Naoki pondered carefully and realized it made sense.

If he had to leave the Pokemon on the ranch to travel, he couldn't do it either.

"What about you? Do you plan to go out again?" Keri turned to look at Naoki and asked.

She remembered Naoki was only in his early twenties, still very young, and becoming a Trainer seemed to have more prospects than being a farmer in the countryside.
