Chapter 744 - Chapter 388: The Lost Underground Kingdom, Mysterious Fossils? Are They Pokemon? (3)

It's just that the timing of Regigigas dragging the continental plates is still uncertain, and Naoki can't confirm if the earthquake in the Paldea Region at the time was affected by Regigigas.

"Right below us!" Raifort suddenly spoke: "Now we need to find a way to get down there."

After a brief contemplation, she took another Poke Ball from her waist.

With a flash of white light, a Braviary with sharp eyes appeared in the pit.

Raifort recalled Zoroark into its Poke Ball and rode on with Grumpig.

And Naoki also climbed onto Koraidon.

The two of them descended along the dark and vast abyss; the terrain inside was incredibly complex, with all sorts of cliffs and deep ravines.

After an unknown amount of time, Koraidon and Braviary finally reached the deepest part.

Here, Grumpig's illumination alone was no longer enough to let them see the full picture of their surroundings.

Just as Naoki was wondering how to find the ruins of the ancient castle, he saw Raifort pull out two helmets from her backpack.

"Put it on, it's equipped with night vision, allowing you to see the surroundings clearly!"

Naoki reached his hand out to accept it, and as he put on the helmet, everything around them instantly became clear.

They were currently positioned on the top of a protruding cliff.

A dilapidated ancient castle lay quietly beneath the cliff, nestled within the endless darkness.

Perhaps it was damaged during its collapse in the past, the once-majestic castle now only had crumbling walls, full of marks eroded by time.

"Found it!" Staring at the ruins of the ancient castle in the distance, Raifort's eyes lit up: "It's right there!"

She mounted Braviary and flew towards it.

Naoki had to chase after her on Koraidon, not as excited as Raifort; he wasn't very interested in the ruins of the ancient castle, his gaze turned to the surrounding terrain filled with an ancient aura.

This vast abyss seemed to have experienced multiple collapses.

Rainwater and groundwater eroded the soil and rock, causing numerous collapses over time.

Just then, Naoki suddenly noticed a few oddly shaped stones on the ground.

He signaled Koraidon to stop and landed to investigate.

Koraidon obediently landed, and Naoki jumped off, reaching down to pick up those stones.

After wiping off the thick layer of dirt and dust covering them, Naoki was able to see these objects clearly.

Is this... a fossil?!

More than just one!

Naoki's eyes wandered with surprise over these stones, quickly noticing something.

Other than the initial piece he excavated, the rest weren't intact fossils!

Either split in half or just a single corner remained.

What puzzled Naoki even further was that these stones resembled gems.

"Strange, is this a Pokemon fossil?"

But Naoki had never seen fossils like this before.

In his memory, neither Omanyte nor Aerodactyl fossils looked like this.

"Or could they be gems fallen from the ruins of that castle?" Naoki speculated randomly.

Come to think of it though, can gems turn into fossils?

Koraidon beside him also looked puzzled as it eyed the stones ahead.

Meanwhile, Raifort up ahead noticed Naoki hadn't caught up, so she called back to him: "Naoki!"

"Coming!"

Naoki answered, tossed away the broken fossils, kept only one intact stone in his pocket, and rode on Koraidon to catch up with Raifort.
