Chapter 1001 - Chapter 475: Farfetch'd Strikes Gold, The Gambler's Spring! (Part 2)

Farfetch'd, brimming with fighting spirit, carried the five Berry Platters out the door.

Meanwhile, Naoki stayed in the kitchen to continue preparing lunch.

In the open space in the ranch.

With a determined gaze, Farfetch'd looked at the five Berry Platters before him.

The first one brought a familiar feeling; Farfetch'd felt he had forgotten Iaido Slash.

About such matters, Farfetch'd remained calm, neither panicked nor dissatisfied. He simply picked up the next Berry Platter.

From the second, Farfetch'd forgot Fury Cutter.

From the third, Farfetch'd comprehended meditation.

From the fourth, Farfetch'd learned Feather Dance.

The fifth.

As the last Berry Platter went down, Farfetch'd suddenly opened his eyes, feeling an unprecedented surge of power.

In the next instant, a layer of blue light appeared in his determined eyes.

A powerful psychic power flowed from Farfetch'd's body into the giant leek in his hand.

The leek began to glow.

"Quack!"

His right wing swung forward sharply, the huge glowing leek sweeping forward, as an invisible Psycho Cut followed, slicing the grass ahead perfectly flat.

"Quack?!"

At the end of the move, Farfetch'd looked at his wing in surprise.

His brain told him the move was called Psyblade, a Psychic Type move!

Realizing the significance of the move, Farfetch'd quickly found Naoki and dragged him outside to show off the newly learned move.

Looking at the impeccably trimmed grass, Naoki immediately recognized Farfetch'd's move.

It was Psyblade, the signature move of the Paradox Species Iron Leaves of the Legendary Pokemon Virizion!

[Psyblade: A Psychic Type move that slashes opponents with invisible blades. When in Electric Terrain, the move's power is enhanced.]

While not as potent as Palkia's Spacial Rend, it's still considered a powerful move.

Especially when the psychic power causes the leek to glow, transforming it into a lightsaber, which makes it look quite cool!

"That's Psyblade, the signature move of Iron Leaves, Virizion's unique Paradox Species. Very impressive." Naoki introduced to Farfetch'd.

Farfetch'd had always relied on melee attacks as his main offensive tactic; now, with a move capable of launching sword qi from afar, it was quite advantageous.

It just so happens to cover Farfetch'd's weaknesses, broadening his attack range.

As expected, upon hearing the word "legendary," Farfetch'd's face immediately radiated excitement.

At this moment, he suddenly felt a sense of vindication.

Thinking about it, he's indeed had a tough journey!

Previously, to master powerful moves, he ate Berry Platters endlessly, turning into a plump duck and nearly ate himself to death.

But now, he finally reaped the rewards of his hardships.

The dawn has come for the gambling duck!

Overwhelmed with excitement, Farfetch'd danced on the spot, laughing "quack quack quack."

Naoki: "..."

Farfetch'd isn't a pure gambling duck!

Normally, at times like this, wouldn't one be discontent with Psyblade being too weak, and instead pursue the stronger Spacial Rend?

After all, Farfetch'd originally came to the ranch in search of the way to cut through waterfalls.

Naoki wanted to remind him, but seeing Farfetch'd so ecstatic, he decided to let it be.

Otherwise, it might end up not mastering Spacial Rend, and even forget the Psyblade. That would be troublesome.

*

Outside the window, the sun burned fiercely, the glaring sunlight baking the earth. The crops in the fields wilted under the heat, and even the cicadas on the mountain behind stopped singing.

After lunch, Naoki lounged lazily at home, enjoying the air conditioning.

Meanwhile, the Pokemon, who weren't bothered by the heat, sat under the eaves leisurely nibbling on watermelon.

Just then, a Trainer with a backpack, sweating profusely, arrived at the ranch.

"Mr. Naoki, I've finally collected enough Badges. Can I challenge the Grass Trial now?"

Under the eaves, a young boy looked excitedly at Naoki, who opened the door for him.

Naoki: "..."

He still remembered this boy, who had come with a Fuecoco in the spring aiming to challenge the Grass Trial.

But he was just a novice, only possessing one Gym Badge, far from meeting the criteria for the trial challenge.

Thus, Naoki decisively rejected him back then.

Hearing he had now collected enough Badges, Naoki felt a bit surprised.

"Come in and rest a bit," he noted the sweat on the boy's forehead.

"Yes!" The boy, very excited, quickly followed Naoki into the living room, "Can I challenge the Grass Trial now?"

Naoki: "..."

Looking at the boy's expectant eyes, Naoki really wanted to say the Gogoat now was not what it used to be.

Achieving legendary status, this Gogoat was not one ordinary Trainer could challenge anymore.

But seeing the boy's enthusiasm and effort for the Grass Trial, Naoki paused for a moment, then had his sister Indeedee pour him a cooling mung bean soup.

The boy thanked him and gulped it down in one go.

Once he finished, Naoki asked, "Where's Fuecoco?"

Upon hearing Naoki inquire about Fuecoco, the boy immediately took out a Poke Ball.

With a flash of white light, a crocodile Pokemon with vibrant red scales appeared in the living room.
