All the players were dumbfounded.
Of course, everyone expected Youyu's Contribution Points to be high, likely leading the leaderboard by a mile. However, when players looked down at their own few hundred or a few dozen points, or even a measly ten points for the more relaxed ones, their first reaction was...
...Holy crap!
No help for it, after all, they're all idiots with no culture, and this was the limit of their reaction.

"Holy crap, isn't this different from the anime plot? Wasn't Dartz taken down by Yugi? I thought Yugi would be at the top..."

Indeed, right behind Youyu on the leaderboard is Yugi.
Yugi's Contribution Points are just over 1.1 million. Given the massive scores of both, it's really just a tiny difference.
The amount of Contribution Points reflects the damage characters have dealt to the enemy in the faction war. Just taking down enemies from Doma earns points, but the value differs hugely based on the level of enemy defeated.
Most players have taken down only the lowest-level minions of Doma, with only a select few elite players having defeated slightly higher-level Dark Duelists, therefore their points can't compare with mainline NPCs.
The most standout players are those around Youyu. For instance, Youyu's supporter group leader Xue Lang, and the shut-in spending big local bigwig Nora Tatsu, both have over 2,000 points that intimidate other players.
Following closely behind Yugi are the other two main players in this plotline, Jonouchi and Kaiba.
However, while their points are miles ahead of regular players, compared to the top two on the board, they're nowhere in the same league.
Other NPCs on the leaderboard can't see the scores, but Youyu can. He roughly knows the reasons why their points are as they are.
Youyu himself, no need to say more. He had a fair fight against Dartz, Doma's behind-the-scenes boss, twice, and during the second, Dartz was in a state merged with the Evil God. Knocking down Dartz head-on twice, just that accomplishment alone earns him enough points to leave others in the dust by a wide margin.
Even the three main original protagonists can't compare to him here. After all, Yugi and his group only fought Dartz once, and it was three against one, so their points can't compare to Youyu's.
Additionally, Youyu took down Amelda, who originally intended to go for President Haima. Being the top Doma swordsman just below Dartz in rank, this point surge is something players can't even dream of matching.
Not to mention in the final moment of world destruction, Youyu, with the Three Egyptian Gods and a massive army of spirits, descended to clinch the final victory decisively...
So even Kaiba and Jonouchi are completely outclassed by his Contribution Points.
Although Yugi seemed to achieve less, he also defeated Dartz head-on in a duel, and later personally commanded the Three Egyptian Gods to deal the finishing blow to the God of Orichalcos.
More importantly, Yugi used his own heart's vessel to completely seal the source of the God of Orichalcos, the embodiment of darkness on this planet. This achievement added immeasurable points to his score.
Youyu surmises, if Yugi hadn't given away his advantage against Rafael earlier, and even lost AIBO, diminishing his style value significantly, his final score might have been higher than Youyu's.
So everyone's final scores and rankings seemed entirely reasonable to Youyu, but not so to the players.

However, NPCs topping the leaderboard is pretty much useless, the only effect is bragging rights, building reputation amongst players, letting everyone see who's the real VIP support.
After all, NPCs can't access the system panel or use Contribution Points in exchange menus to get actual prizes. So no matter how high the rank, it's just decoration.
...At least, that's what the players think.
Thinking this way makes them feel a little better.

Yes, with the same system as the players, Youyu naturally can browse the shop just like them.
Over 1.2 million Contribution Points, this is a massive haul other players can only dream of. Now for Youyu, he can pretty much get anything he wants from the shop, clicking on whatever he fancies without a second thought.
That's how it is, yet there really wasn't much that caught his eye.
In his past life, Youyu participated in all kinds of faction wars, and by the end of these events, the shop rarely had good items to redeem.
What could be exchanged were mostly Physical Cards, definitely not animated cards, and most were of no significant use.
The 'no signficant use' here is quite literal, feeling purely like filler, with some cards that even after racking his brain, Youyu couldn't figure out what purpose they could serve.
Exchanging for Crystal Stone or experience points might be good for regular players. But for Youyu, who has endless crops of newbies to exploit, Crystal Stone isn't worth much. Using hard-earned Contribution Points to exchange for something easily obtained elsewhere feels like a waste... (Heard, have you heard?)
As for those worthless rare headgear...forget it.
Though he had once been quite passionate about quirky outfits when he was a player, reminiscing about how he once roamed about in unicorn gear as a big shot. But now...we'll pass.

Yet, with zero expectations for the Contribution Points shop, Youyu, after randomly browsing it, was very astonished to find that his shop had a unique section that no one else had.

Special item? What could it be?
Youyu was stunned.

In his past life, he'd never heard of anyone with over a million Contribution Points in a faction war, and thus never heard of such a special item system.
This means it unlocks only when Contribution Points reach a specific requirement?
