After Mokgetsu saved the injured Konoha ninja, the disciples also took action to assist the Konoha ninja and attack the Hidden Rock ninja.
They didn't have Mokgetsu's strength, so the three of them acted together without straying too far from Mokgetsu.

When the flaming kunai hit the Hidden Rock ninja, explosions occurred immediately, engulfing his body in intense firelight.
The high temperature and explosion of the Fire Release, combined with the piercing power of the kunai, reduced the attacking Hidden Rock ninja to a charred corpse, falling from the sky under the consecutive attacks of Obito and Might Guy.
"We can just fight like we used to, right?" Successfully eliminating an enemy, the confusion in Obito's eyes disappeared.
"You shouldn't have used ninjutsu just now; just throwing shuriken and kunai would have been enough." Kakashi shook his head and said.
He was originally going to attack with shuriken, but seeing Obito use ninjutsu, he dropped the idea. After all, the usual ninja definitely couldn't withstand a Fire Release bombardment.
"Why? Just using ninja tools doesn't seem like it can kill in one strike," Obito asked in confusion.
He believed that if an enemy could be dealt with, they should be completely incapacitated in one go to prevent any unexpected occurrences in battle.
"It's okay if it's a regular spar or if there are only a few enemies, but just look at how many enemies there are here. You need to conserve your chakra as much as possible," Kakashi explained his insight.
Although he had never experienced a large-scale ninja battle himself, Kakashi felt that on the battlefield, conserving strength, and using the minimum effort and chakra to achieve the greatest results was necessary.
For instance, what Obito did earlier would have resulted in a heavily injured enemy even if Fire Release wasn't used. Such an injury on the battlefield is nearly equivalent to death.
"And you too, Guy. Don't overexert yourself," Kakashi continued, addressing Might Guy.
Full Concentration Breathing and Eight Gates are excellent skills to enhance strength, but they also consume a lot of energy.
Obito glanced over the seemingly endless battlefield and had to acknowledge that Kakashi was indeed making a valid point.
War was entirely different from the battles they had fought before. It was a certainty that exhausting too much chakra and energy here wouldn't be a good idea.
Might Guy nodded in agreement with Kakashi's perspective, deciding not to use Full Concentration Breathing or the Second Gate unless faced with an overwhelmingly strong opponent.
Actually, Kakashi had one more point he didn't mention: if the enemy was strong enough and their identity significant enough, expending more energy to eliminate them would be worthwhile. But that wasn't something their current strength should be concerned with.
Kakashi drew the White Fang Short Blade from his back; using a blade to finish off enemies was evidently more efficient than using ninjutsu.
In his mind, he had already banned using Purple Lighting and Pseudo-Darkness, both high-consumption ninjutsu. Though powerful, using them twice would leave him without any chakra.
Obito took another standard kunai from his ninja pouch, preparing to reserve his chakra for crucial moments to use ninjutsu.
He actually had the birthday kunai Mokgetsu had given him with him, but Obito worried it might get damaged in battle, so he didn't take it out.
Even without using ninjutsu, the three's taijutsu skills were not lacking, and combined with their tacit teamwork, they easily defeated the Hidden Rock Chunin of comparable numbers.
Compared to their side, Mokgetsu's efficiency was notably greater. With a single Mighty Dragon Fire, he easily obliterated a Hidden Rock Jonin and then swiftly took down several more Hidden Rock ninjas with a standard kunai as though slicing through vegetables.
"Teacher Mokgetsu is really impressive, but why didn't he use that wide-range Fire Release earlier? Was he worried about hurting his allies?" Obito wondered aloud, impressed at Mokgetsu's swift enemy dispatch but slightly puzzled inside.
"Teacher Mokgetsu must have his own considerations. Let's worry more about ourselves; it seems like we've been noticed." Kakashi quickly alerted.
Kakashi focused more on their surroundings, suddenly noticing a few Hidden Rock ninjas intentionally or unintentionally moving towards them.
Just as Kakashi finished speaking, five Hidden Rock ninjas suddenly charged at them.
One of the Hidden Rock ninjas was intercepted by a Konoha ninja in the way, but four more continued rushing towards them.
"Being so young and already this skilled, they must be Konoha prodigies; let's eliminate them first!" shouted the leading Hidden Rock ninja.
