"Gomen ne sumimase!" Obito clasped his hands together and bowed apologetically to Nohara Rin; indeed, it was his mistake.
"Alright, I forgive you. After all, you're Obito. If there's ever a day you truly don't need my care, now that would be surprising." Nohara Rin smiled as she looked at Obito's formal apology.
She was just teasing him; she wasn't really upset, as this was within her expectations.
"Hehe, doing missions with Little Rin." After his apology, Obito showed a silly grin, already fantasizing about Rin admiring him heroically saving her.
The happiness came too suddenly, and Obito even doubted if he was dreaming. He pinched himself, felt the physical pain, and confirmed his fantasy had come true.
"Whoever assigned the teams, good job!" Obito praised the ninja who assigned them in his heart. Such insightful choices, pairing him and Nohara Rin together among so many people.
If he knew who did the assignments, Obito would gladly give them an award for the Best Team Assignment of the Year.
"Isn't it supposed to be teams of three? Who's our other teammate? Is it Guy?" Obito curiously asked Nohara Rin.
If it was Might Guy, Obito felt it was good since Guy was strong and could be a great help in battles. Plus, he thought with Guy around, Rin's attention would be more on him.
It wasn't that Guy looked bad, just that his "death green" outfit wasn't to everyone's taste.
"Nope." Nohara Rin shook her head.
"Then who is it, Uchiha Tekka? Or Murai Kazuya?" Obito rattled off several names of classmates, all of which Nohara Rin denied.
"None of them, so who is it? It wouldn't be someone from another class, right?" Obito's mind flashed through names of acquaintances from other classes.
"Well, it's someone quite unexpected in many ways." Nohara Rin thought and answered.
She felt no matter how Obito thought, he wouldn't guess their teammate was Kakashi, who had graduated a few years ago.
Even Nohara Rin was stunned for a while when she saw the team list, and other students were shocked too. No one expected such team arrangements.
Nohara Rin specifically asked Iketani Isamu, who told her such situations usually occurred when the original team of a person had issues, so they joined a new team. During times of war, this happened almost every year.
"Little Rin, you saying it like that makes me more curious. Who is it?" Obito continued to press.
"You'll know tomorrow. We meet at Training Ground 12 at 8:30 in the morning." Nohara Rin didn't tell Obito that Kakashi was their teammate but mentioned the time and place.
The choice not to reveal was because she thought the scene would be interesting.
Recently, Obito and Kakashi were taunting each other about how being teammates would be bad luck, and now they happened to be on the same team.
"Does that mean I'm taking double the bad luck?" Nohara Rin had a strange thought but couldn't help but smile brightly when thinking about Obito and Kakashi's expressions upon meeting.
"Alright then, Little Rin, why are you smiling so happily? Are you thinking of something fun?" Obito was attracted to Nohara Rin's bright smile.
"I suppose it's something fun, but I can't tell you for now." Nohara Rin's eyes flashed mischievously as she smiled.
Obito nodded blankly.
"Alright, the stuff's delivered. I won't bother you anymore. Don't be late tomorrow and make a good impression on the teacher." Nohara Rin waved goodbye to Obito.
"Okay, Little Rin, take care." Obito waved goodbye, his heart filled with anticipation for tomorrow.
"Hehe, finally going on missions with Little Rin." Obito jumped up and down and punched the air in celebration.
Having been grouped with Rin, it didn't matter who the last person was, as long as it wasn't Kakashi. If the teammate was strong enough, great; if not, he could protect Rin himself.
Obito just didn't believe that Kakashi, a veteran who graduated so long ago, would end up on their team. The last internship was just an anomaly.
"Good times are ahead." Obito hummed an unknown song as he walked back home.

[Disciple Uchiha Shisui diligently trained and achieved perfect scores in academic assessments, earning a reward: Chakra +300, Ninjutsu Proficiency Scroll]
[Disciple Uchiha Obito diligently trained and achieved perfect scores in the graduation assessment, earning a reward: Chakra +600, Ninjutsu Mastery Scroll]
[Disciple Might Guy diligently trained and achieved excellent scores in the graduation assessment, earning a reward: Chakra +450, Ninjutsu Proficiency Scroll ×3]
Perhaps due to graduation, the system was particularly generous this time. Not only was there a significant increase in Chakra, but they also received an unprecedented Ninjutsu Mastery Scroll; before, he'd only ever gotten proficiency scrolls.
[Ninjutsu Mastery Scroll: Elevate any mastered ninjutsu to master level]
The effect, similar to the proficiency scroll, was straightforward and crude: a direct upgrade.
"If only it were a Skill Mastery Scroll," Mokgetsu thought.
These scrolls couldn't be used on Nature Transformation, only on substantial ninjutsu like the Great Fire Extinguishing or Mystical Palm Jutsu.
Previously, he wanted to use proficiency scrolls to enhance Nature Transformation for other attributes, only to find he couldn't select it.
Of course, this didn't diminish the value of mastery scrolls; on the contrary, they were potent items since Secret Techniques and Kinjutsu could use mastery scrolls.
Master Level Skills were never too abundant for Mokgetsu; he wished every ninjutsu he had was at master level, with high proficiency Nature Transformation, turning him into a versatile artillery.
Besides the mastery-level scroll, he received four proficiency-level scrolls in one go this time, which wasn't bad, with a total of 1,350 points in Chakra gained.
[Name: Habu Mokgetsu]
[Chakra: 53,200]
Over one academic year, his Chakra increased from an initial 4,300 points to 53,200 points, with an annual growth of 48,900 points.
This Chakra growth was quite considerable; the first time he met Minato, Minato had only 40,000 Chakras, equating to approximately 1.2 Minatos in a year or about 19.5 Kakashi units.
"See you later, Teacher Mokgetsu, I won't be seeing you for a while." Anko waved goodbye to Mokgetsu.
Because of Shadow Clone attending school, in Anko's perspective, the third semester appeared much the same.
"You can get your fill next semester; I'll be responsible for special training then. For five straight months, you'll see me several times a day," Mokgetsu replied with a grin.
Next semester, he'll focus more on Ninjutsu, aiming for A-rank evaluations to acquire more Ninjutsu, since merely attending classes for Chakra was too slow; Ninjutsu would be better.
Simultaneously, he'll expand the special training levels, striving for higher and better rewards.
"That's great! Without you, Teacher Mokgetsu, the special training is no fun," Anko beamed with joy.
The second semester's special training wasn't under Mokgetsu's guidance, making her feel uninspired, learning little yet feeling exhausted.
"Our chance, brother, is here," Hagane Kotetsu said solemnly to Kamizuki Izumo.
"Indeed, this time we must break into Group B," Kamizuki Izumo smiled.
"At this rate, by the fourth grade, we might achieve results like Senior Obito and Senior Guy!" Hagane Kotetsu envisioned, accomplishing A-Class Missions like Obito, shocking the entire school.
"Maybe Shisui and I can do it, but you guys better forget it," Anko pointed out; when it came to practical skills, she and Shisui were a solid one and two, unchanging.
In theory, she was demure; in practice, she was a knockout.
Watching the group messing around, Mokgetsu smiled—this academic year had been rewarding in many ways.
