If Mokgetsu hadn't arrived in time, Shisui and the entire squad might have perished there.
Though he hadn't fought against the Seven-Swords Ninja, Uchiha Nobuhiro had heard of this elite squad's ferocious reputation, and he figured he could at best take down one of them.
"It's really fortunate for you, Shisui, to have a teacher like Lord Mokgetsu," said Uchiha Nobuhiro as he ate.
A good teacher can provide a lot of help, not just in terms of cultivation guidance, but also in offering connections and resources.
Uchiha Nobuhiro found that Shisui resembled Uchiha Kagami in some ways, both geniuses, both with a good teacher.
Although Mokgetsu isn't the Hokage, Uchiha Nobuhiro believed that with the capabilities Mokgetsu had shown, he would definitely be a high-ranking figure in Konoha in the future, without a doubt.
"Meeting Teacher Mokgetsu is indeed my luck," Shisui nodded in agreement.
He couldn't imagine what he would be like without meeting Teacher Mokgetsu, whether he could shake off the extreme teachings within the Uchiha Clan, if he would have his current strength, or if his life would be this joyful.
Shisui briefly contemplated and found out he couldn't envision it at all because just thinking about it seemed like a bad story, which his heart instinctively rejected to explore further.
After Shisui finished speaking, Uchiha Nobuhiro shared his recent mission experiences until they were about to head for the clan meeting.
"Uncle, are you going to attend the clan meeting tonight?" Shisui asked, looking at the time proactively.
Seeing as Uchiha Nobuhiro just returned, Shisui wasn't sure if he was interested in attending the clan meeting.
"Yes, Shisui, are you going as well?" Uchiha Nobuhiro nodded in response.
When in Konoha, Uchiha Nobuhiro generally attended the clan meetings to observe the atmosphere within the clan, to prevent an incident like the one with Uchiha Setsuna from happening again.
"Sure, but I first need to call my friend to come along; we had an agreement earlier." Shisui explained.
"Then let's head out and go to your friend's house, the time's about right," Uchiha Nobuhiro suggested.
The two then proceeded to Obito's house to meet up with him.
"This is my uncle, Uchiha Nobuhiro," Shisui gave a brief introduction of Uchiha Nobuhiro.
"Hello, Uncle Nobuhiro," Obito greeted Uchiha Nobuhiro with a grin.
Before Shisui could introduce Obito, Uchiha Nobuhiro smiled and said:
"Hello, Obito, I know you, the great genius of the Uchiha."
"Hehe, not really, just an average genius," Obito scratched his head and replied with a smile.
He liked honest people like Uchiha Nobuhiro.
On the way to Nankai Shrine, the three chatted as they walked, becoming more familiar with each other.
As they neared Nankai Shrine, Obito spotted Uchiha Inabi, who was barely an acquaintance.
After entering Nankai Shrine, they casually found a few mats together and sat down.
There were no strict seating rules during clan meetings; only the clan leader needed to sit at the front facing everyone.
"Elder Seisei, please begin," said Uchiha Fugaku, looking at a stern-faced middle-aged ninja in the front row.
There are two types of clan meetings in Uchiha: the routine ones held at fixed times every month and the ones called by the clan leader or elders, or when there's a strong desire from a significant number of clan members for one.
This meeting was the latter, initiated by an elder named Uchiha Seisei.
Uchiha Seisei nodded slightly, stood up, and sat down next to Uchiha Fugaku, facing the many Uchiha ninjas.
"Today, first, I want to commend two members of our clan, who are the pride of Uchiha," Uchiha Seisei said with a smile.
The present Uchiha ninjas looked at each other, curious about who those two members were that deserved such praise from an elder at the clan meeting.
"Could it be Inabi? I remember he's been working really hard."
"I doubt it; such reasons are unlikely to get a commendation at a clan meeting."
The Uchiha ninjas started discussing with their familiar clan members.
Some Uchiha ninjas more focused on battlefield information turned their sights to Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Obito.
Though it sounded somewhat absurd, the latest famous Uchiha duo included Shisui and Obito, both featured in the Konoha Newspaper.
With the majority of Uchiha ninjas employed in the Police Department, only a few participated in the war, and even fewer were potent, leading to this situation.
"The two individuals are Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Obito. They have embodied the Uchiha Clan's spirit on the Hidden Mist Battlefield. One of the famed Seven-Swords Ninjas of the Ninja World, Suikazan Fuguki, was recently killed by Obito during the war," Uchiha Seisei declared firmly.
Some Uchiha, who hadn't paid attention to the recent war news, looked at Obito and Shisui in surprise.
While younger Genin might not know, most Chunin and Jonin with some experience were aware of the fame of the Seven-Swords Ninja, each being an elite among the Jonin, each challenging to confront, and terrifyingly powerful when combined.
"Obito actually killed Suikazan Fuguki," Uchiha Inabi thought with great astonishment.
Recently, he had been immersed in a routine of work and cultivation, paying little attention to external news, never imagining that Obito had reached such heights.
"Um, it wasn't just me who killed him; it was Kakashi and I together," Obito corrected.
Though his fellow clan members looked at him with astonishment, which felt pleasing, Obito didn't want to take all the credit; it was a joint effort with Kakashi against Suikazan Fuguki.
Obito took pride in his small vanity, but he wasn't so shallow as to claim all the hard-fought efforts of his teammates, even if it was Kakashi.
"Yes, I believe it must have been under your effort, Obito, that you led Hatake Kakashi to kill Suikazan Fuguki," Uchiha Seisei noted without changing his expression.
Obito actually wanted to say they shared the effort, but Kakashi led for the most part.
But when he thought about it, explaining more didn't seem essential, so he didn't pursue it further.
Shisui frowned slightly; he remembered the report clearly stating that Kakashi personally killed Suikazan Fuguki. Why did Uchiha Seisei emphasize Obito's contribution more, to the point of elevating one over the other?
"Now they have both become Konoha Jonin, with Shisui even setting a new record as the youngest Jonin in Konoha's history, being only eight years old," Uchiha Seisei continued after speaking about Obito.
"This is the testament of Uchiha warriors, which shows that our Uchiha Clan has never lacked talents; we merely lack the stage, the opportunities!" exclaimed Uchiha Seisei as he stood and waved his fist spiritedly.
The seated Uchiha ninjas couldn't help but applaud Uchiha Seisei.
"Our Uchiha has always been the strongest Ninja Clan, this is proof."
"Should the chance arise, our Uchiha will certainly regain the glory of the Warring States Period."
Many Uchiha ninjas began voicing their thoughts, causing Shisui to frown.
Shisui instinctively looked towards Uchiha Nobuhiro, seeing him also furrowing his brows, and felt reassured that at least his uncle remained a sensible Uchiha, unclouded by the rhetoric.
Obito also displayed some displeasure; when Uchiha Seisei praised him earlier, he thought the man was fine, but Obito now found Uchiha Seisei not only inadequate but somewhat obnoxious.
Clearly, it was the efforts of him and Shisui, but how did it become a testament to Uchiha's unbroken lineage of geniuses?
PS: There's another chapter coming later, but the time is uncertain, probably around three or four o'clock; after checking Baidu's neck problem, tried some warm compress, felt much better.
As for readers asking why I have so many issues, just imagine working till three or four in the morning for several consecutive days and then having to work a full day to understand...
Usually, when there aren't major issues, I don't take leave; it's just that when not feeling well, it's challenging to churn out extra updates.
After all, novel updates mean money, and the author is from Jiangxi; for those in the know, I'm still hoping the novel will earn some money for the bride price, so if I can update, I'll definitely avoid taking leave.
