Chapter 340 - Special Feature: Love and the Young Woman (Part 1)

"I've made up my mind, I'm going to start a harem."

The young man, sleeping with his hood up, suddenly stood up and declared grandly to the teacher lecturing on the podium.

The previously murmuring classroom instantly fell silent in awe of his imposing manner and utterly shameless, righteous expression.

"Um... Lin? Is there something you need?" The teacher wiped the sweat from his brow, cursing internally at this guy who was always capable of causing inexplicably big incidents.

Lin, known as the Trouble Maker, had publicly thrashed the gym teacher during the entrance ceremony and then hung him up at the doorway of the equipment room during gym class after the teacher was released from the hospital. A subsequent investigation revealed that the gym teacher had a history of sexually harassing female students, and Lin thrashed him because the teacher had mistaken Lin for a girl...

In the two years since his enrollment, he maintained a frequency of a minor incident every two days and a major one every three, constantly creating trouble. He cursed teachers he disliked and, after they retaliated, greeted them with more abstract profanity. If the cafeteria food was bad and expensive, he'd hold the chef's head down and force them to eat their own dish. Students who smoked on the sports field were shoved into the dirt; those who smoked in the bathroom were...

Other incidents included shooting the dean of students, who had insulted him, in the butt with a homemade dart, using lab chemicals to create a small bomb that blew up the school's underground pipes, publishing rumors about the vice principal online, and blackmailing him when asked to delete them...

Normally, a student like this would be expelled, but the tricky part was that he not only had connections with the principal but also scored perfect marks in every subject, consistently ranking first nationwide. He had finished high school material before even enrolling. Geniuses like him usually skipped grades and went to advanced studies like their principal, so one who stayed in high school to bring glory to the school was a rarity.

Simply put, he was both a disgrace and the pride of the school.

He had finally calmed down significantly over the past month. Some people had witnessed him frequently visiting a local sanatorium, and his spirit was no longer as energetic or neurotic as before. He often slept in class, seemingly due to illness, and had finally quieted down.

But today, he seemed to have... started again.

Kevin, sitting next to him, whispered a reminder: "Hey, Lin, what are you doing! We're still in class!"

"Class? Hmph, can some rigid knowledge and boring test questions compare to my life's great matter?" Lin scoffed dismissively, causing the teacher's face on the podium to twitch fiercely. "Teacher, step aside. I have an announcement to make."

Before the teacher could say anything, Lin walked up to the podium and shouted with open arms, "I've decided on something big just now! Don't you think I'm... perfect?"

"..."

The students below shared a uniform expression of twitching.

Perfect? If God created the word perfect, you must be what he created according to the antonym of perfect!

"Think about it carefully. How strange is it that a perfect man like me hasn't experienced dating even once? Just based on appearance, I'm already at the world's apex, right? So why can those guys who are less than half as good as me flirt through a field of flowers while no girl has ever confessed to me?"

He touched his chin, perplexed: "This is truly strange."

"Since even they can do it, why can't I? A person like me is very suitable for a harem, right? There must be many girls who love me to death." He smiled brightly. "So from now on, I will accept every girl who confesses to me. First come, first served."

"Come on! I know many of you are secretly in love with me! Now is the time for you to rightfully express your affection!"

"..."

Kevin covered his face, unable to look at the reactions of the other students and the teacher.

"Hmm? No one?" After a long period of silence, Lin put down his hand and pondered in confusion, "That's not right... Hey, the bespectacled student in the first row. Yes, you. I ask you, am I outstanding?"

The bespectacled student who was called out went pale. His lips trembled as he wordlessly looked to the teacher beside him for help, but the teacher could only turn his head away with a look of distress.

"Think carefully before you answer, Four-Eyes." Lin smiled menacingly, staring at the student, who was shaking like a sieve.

Someone couldn't help but protest: "That's coercion! That's too much!"

"Huh? That's not coercion," Lin scratched his hair in confusion. "It's a threat."

The bespectacled student's eyes rolled back, unable to bear the pressure, and he instantly fainted.

"I really don't understand, Kevin, why did it fail? My plan was perfect, wasn't it?"

"That's probably because... you never had a plan."

Kevin, eating a yakisoba roll, sighed: "I'm telling you, Lin, why did you do that again today..."

"I just suddenly wondered why a perfect person like me doesn't have a girlfriend? Logically, my girlfriends should line up from the classroom to the school gate, but why is there not a single one?"

Lin held a coffee milk carton in both hands. He leaned out over the railing, looking down at the pairs of men and women walking closely together during lunchtime.

Kevin replied helplessly: "You are indeed great, whether it's your looks, cooking, grades, knowledge, talent, or wealth... But have you ever considered changing your personality?"

Lin frowned in dissatisfaction: "Isn't my personality great? I hate evil and I'm sincere."

"No... Sigh. Then why don't you try? Change to a cold, aloof personality of few words? I think many girls would like you that way."

"No. I am who I am. Why must I change into another person." Lin crushed the aluminum can in his hand and tossed it into the trash can below. "There will always be good girls who like me, right? No, good girls should like me!"

Kevin no longer knew how to advise his friend. He had been like this since they met. One could call it arrogance, but he didn't seem to exaggerate or overstate things. A more accurate description would be excessively flamboyant.

He expressed his inner thoughts too authentically, making him incompatible with everyone else.

"Let me ask you, if you really found someone, what would you do?" Kevin felt he should stop Lin appropriately.

"..." However, this question caused Lin to fall silent immediately.

"You haven't thought it through, have you?"

"..."

"Then how are you going to find a girl who likes you?"

"Ask them one by one."

"...Then you'll only face rejection."

"Only the strong are qualified to refuse!"

However, during their almost nonsensical conversation, neither of them noticed that on one floor of a distant teaching building, a person was holding binoculars, quietly observing Lin standing on the rooftop.
