Chapter 13 - Suite

[Please make your way through to your room, the food will be served in your own room]

'This is a dream for introverts. Eating in your own room?'

Room?

Suddenly, like the translucent papers which appeared infront of Dorian in the first entrance. Something similar came infront of his body. It seemed to be a translucent key. The key was yellow in colour and transparent in nature.

[DORIAN. ROOM NO 200 A]

Dorian made his way through to the number and, after half an hour, finally found it.

The entrants were still too large. There were still 5000 entrants, from which only 100 would even be selected.

After Dorian and the entrants were provided with their own suite, which was nearly identical for everyone.

The suite had a spacious room, and the bed was comfy. The temperature was regulated, optimised for the environment outside.

The suite only allowed for one entrant to stay at any given time. This was to prevent some 'shady' business, which would only become a problem 9 months later. These teenagers were in the hormonal prime of their lives; it was an obvious addition that the Academy had added.

Dorian looked around.

He saw the large bed, the huge, spacious room and the luxurious accommodations provided by the Academy. There was a table which was black in colour, and had a rune-like tablet at the top of it. It seemed to be an artefact to call for room help.

None of this impressed Dorian.

Dorian was mainly interested in the best attention-grabber in the suite

The large window formed the side of the suite. Dorian was lucky enough to be placed in the sides of the Airship.

A large window?

This was the best thing that Dorian could ask for.

When he was a child, he wished to be seated in the window seat on the plane. It was somewhat similar when he was older and when he was in another world. You can take the soul out of one world, but you can't take the childhood.

He spent the majority of the night looking at the land below and admiring it.

This world was truly beautiful than what Dorian had imagined.

Dorian, when he looked at the geological structures of massive volcanoes which could tower over two mountains combined from the earth. When Dorian looked closer, he could see a hermit-like old man meditating on the slope of the volcano.

'Weird. Is this a hippie from another world?'

The volcano could have been 30km in height from the base. This could not have been possible on Earth because the tension that the granite could withstand would have been too large, but this was not Earth.

The area around the volcano seemed to converge into several other ecotones because of how massive the volcano actually was.

When the airship passed through the cloud, jellyfish-like organisms would fly right beside the airship. Their massive blue bodies glowing in the ominous dark were rejuvenating and mesmerised the onlookers. With each stroke of their tentacles, they propelled themselves through the air.

Sometimes, there were jellyfish birds, while other times, there were massive balloon-like animals. The animal seems to have evolved into a balloon-like form to sustain itself in the air.

Dorian assumed that this world shared some of the same principles of biology as that of Earth, but this was not true. It was only that Dorian had a human body, while the other than some animals, the other animals were different.

As the airship moved through the clouds, he saw a vast lake where the light of the small fish, like animals, illuminated the entire lake. The vast trees across the entire land constituted breathtaking scenery.

The airship passed through the snowy biome, which took several hours to cross.

Even though the land was snowy, the biological animals which were present were abundant. A large snow monkey and a lobster-like animal battling in the middle of a floating iceberg was the least thing that Dorian saw.

All of these structures and lands were just in a single region of the entire continent. No matter the large mountains which made the massive airship look like an ant, or the snow monkeys which always seemed to be fighting, they were all in the central region of the continent.

The central continent is the most abundant in resources, but the conditions for living in the continent are too risky except in the major cities, so migration and overpopulation were sustained on their own. The central continent is the home of the palace of the king, or Wallace's home.

Though Dorian smiled, thousands more entrants did not.

Today was the day that half of the entire entrants were going to be eliminated.

The Canon Academy let the entrants spend the night on the airship, one of the largest produced by humans on the continent.

It was because it was to soften them for when half of the entrants were going to be eliminated.

What the entire air-ship used to propel itself is purely wind artefacts, but the resources to run these artefacts are expensive.

Because the continents and the competition between races were just major things in this world, humans were united much more.

Because of this, the truly capitalist society where there are accommodations produced for entire profits or extravagant services for seemingly no reason did not exist.

It was so that the Canon Academy does its best for the entrance to be taken in the tallest tower and an evening trip, for free, to the next generation of Ascenders.

It was a treat given to the next generations of innovators, the next generation of Ascenders and the next generation of young people who will bring prosperity to the entire world.

A few of the entrants rarely spoke with each other. They were only strangers for a single day. Except for a few of the overly extroverted entrants, hardly anyone spoke with one another.

BUZZZZ! BUZZZZ! BUZZZZ!

Dorian woke up to the sound of what seemed like an alarm. It was played by the rune-like artefact on the table to the side.

Dorian had spent most of the night looking at the view, so he woke up tired.

'Fuck me. I should have slept well.'

Dorian stretched his hands out and yawned in a loud voice.

'Where did this noise come from?'

Dorian looked around the room.

BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ!

The noise was coming from the rune in the table.

A soft girl's voice spoke through the other end of the rune.

"Everyone, I hope you had a good night's rest, because we've officially arrived at the tower of loom"

Dorian quickly ran towards the window. What he saw next got his eyes wide open....

'WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THAT----------'
