Chapter 572 - Chapter 549: Thanks to Your Bonds

"Then it's my turn, draw a card."

Yugen draws a card, then reveals his hand.

"Magic Card 'Monster Recycling'. Return all cards from your hand and on the field to the deck, then draw five cards from the deck." (Original effect)

A card often used by Muto Yuugi in the anime, known for its strength, and its value is evident without needing much explanation.

So Yugen draws a new hand of five cards.

He then looks up and smiles mysteriously.

"It seems this turn might just show you...," he pauses, then says in a deep voice, "the true power of the Black Scorpion Thief Gang."

Zarug is taken aback.

Huh?

The true power of the Thief Gang?

He almost bursts out laughing.

"Kid, do you know who we are?" Zarug says with arms akimbo, chuckling, "Do you think you know the Black Scorpion Thief Gang better than we do?"

"Well, who can say for sure?"

Zarug laughs out loud.

"Alright, then I'd like to see it for myself," Zarug says, "Go ahead, show me this so-called true power of yours!"

"As you wish."

Yugen says.

"Activate Magic Card 'Reinforcements'. Add a Warrior Race monster card of four stars or less from the deck to the hand.

I add 'Black Scorpion Thief Gang' from the deck to the hand."

A Monster Card of the Thief Gang, 4-star Warrior Race, the card depicts a group photo of the entire gang.

"Then perform a Normal Summon of 'Black Scorpion Thief Gang'."

[Black Scorpion Thief Gang, Attack Power 1000]

It's still the five members of the Thief Gang but now squeezed into one Monster Grid, used as a single monster.

"Hmm, our five-person united card," Zarug says with arms crossed, smiling, "So what?"

"Next, activate Magic Card 'Purple Flame Intermediary'. Till the end of the turn, transfer the control of one monster on your side to the opponent.

I give 'Black Scorpion Thief Gang' to you."

He pauses and smiles.

"You're welcome."

Zarug: "??? "

Thieves: "??? "

Giving us to ourselves?

What is he doing?

Seeing the five-person group jump to Zarug's field, the thieves are baffled.

This guy is being way too polite.

Even before this, his cards' effects are just too courteous.

Why would anyone have a card in their deck that gives monsters to the opponent? Is he that nice?

"Magic Card 'Double Summon', allows me an additional Normal Summon this turn.

I summon 'Army Dragon'."

[Army Dragon, Attack Power 700]

"Battle! Army Dragon attacks 'Black Scorpion Thief Gang'."

The crowd is even more puzzled.

Using a weaker monster for a suicide attack!?

"Even though I don't know what you're trying to do..." Zarug shouts, "Thief Gang, counterattack!"

As expected, Army Dragon is crushed by the five members of the Thief Gang.

[Yugen, LP 2000→LP 1700]

"When Army Dragon is destroyed by battle, I can Special Summon another card with the same name from the deck. So, I Special Summon another Army Dragon."

[Army Dragon, Attack Power 700]

"Still meaningless," Zarug frowns, "Moreover, you lost Life Points..."

"No, it's not meaningless," Yugen smiles, "You haven't forgotten your own effect, have you?"

"Huh?"

Zarug is stunned.

Then suddenly realizes something.

"Oh right, when the Black Scorpion Thief Gang deals battle damage to the opponent, the opponent must send a Magic Card from their deck to the graveyard..."

"Yes."

Yugen smiles.

"I just received battle damage from your Thief Gang, so I send a Magic Card from my deck to the graveyard.

I am sending this card to the grave."

Yugen smiles while drawing out the card automatically found from his deck.

"Magic Card 'Jackpot Pot 7'."

Zarug freezes instantly.

Jackpot Pot 7, he has heard of this card.

Issued by the International Fantasy Association, a commemorative card from a major tournament event, thus it was limited to just those few issued during that tournament, as rcan someone tell me what to do with the rest of the text too or is it almost done? appreciate it.e cards that alter victory conditions, it is quite famous.

Yes, in this world, there are other rule victory cards besides Exodia, and there are even many versions that don't exist in reality but are original creations for the anime.

For example, like the Tennis President Ayakoji's tennis-themed deck in Duel Academy, which features effects with special rule victories.

And Jackpot Pot 7, designed personally by Beckas as a prize for a tournament, is quite well-known. However, most have only heard of it and have not seen it firsthand.

"Jackpot Pot 7, when this card is sent to the graveyard by the effect of an opponent's card, it is removed from play."

Yugen says.

"Moreover, when three 'Jackpot Pot 7s' are removed from play through this effect, you immediately win the duel."

It needs three Jackpot Pots sent to the graveyard, and it must be done with the opponent's help. At first glance, it seems like a highly restrictive effect that's almost impossible to accomplish. Anyone seeing it for the first time might think it's easier to try and collect five Exodias than use this card since that doesn't require the opponent's help.

However...

"The opponent's effect..."

Zarug blankly stares at the Black Scorpion Thief Gang forcibly given to him on his field.

Then his face turns pale.

Since it was forcibly given, this card, originally Yugen's Black Scorpion Thief Gang, has become the "opponent's effect".

Every time the Army Dragon self-destructs, the Black Scorpion Thief Gang's effect forcefully activates, allowing Yugen to send a Magic Card of his choice from his deck to the graveyard.

Then, after the Army Dragon self-destructs, he can search for a new Army Dragon from the deck.

In other words, when three Army Dragons self-destruct, Yugen can choose three Magic Cards from his deck and send them to the graveyard, and this effect counts as the "opponent's effect".

Now he understands.

But it's already too late.

"The second Army Dragon attacks the Black Scorpion Thief Gang."

Another self-sacrificial attack. Of course, the Army Dragon is defeated by the Thief Gang once more.

[Yugen, LP 1700→LP 1400]

"The second Army Dragon is destroyed, and I Special Summon the third 'Army Dragon' from the deck," Yugen says, "Of course, the effect of the Black Scorpion Thief Gang activates as well.

I choose the second 'Jackpot Pot 7' from my deck and send it to the graveyard."

The audience is dead silent. Zarug stares at him, unable to speak. The other thieves have completely forgotten to cheer, each struck dumb watching an unfolding that seems to surpass their understanding of duels.

"The third Army Dragon attacks," Yugen says calmly.

"No... no, you can't..."

Zarug struggles.

"I certainly can, and I'm about to do just that... However, I couldn't have done it without you," Yugen smiles, "All thanks to the cooperation of your Thief Gang.

This is the power of the thieves' bond, isn't it amazing?"

Zarug: "..."

With a casual talk, the third Army Dragon self-destructs as well.

"Black Scorpion Thief Gang, for the last time, activate the effect. I send one Magic Card from my deck to the graveyard."

Yugen reveals that final card.

"The third 'Jackpot Pot 7', send it to the graveyard and remove it from play due to its own effect.

At this moment, three removed 'Jackpot Pots 7' are collected."

Yugen says calmly.

"Sorry, it seems like I've won."
