Chapter 579 - Chapter 556: Air Circle

Demon Cavalry, absorb!

Changeable Air Hummingbird, as one of the only three Air Hummingbirds to be made into a physical card, has an effect almost identical to the manga. Compared to the manga, the physical card seems to only have one additional phrase.

"Once per turn."

Yes, after being made into a physical card, Changeable Air Hummingbird was given a "once per turn" restriction, but this phrase wasn't in the original manga. As long as there are enough hand cards to discard as COST, and the opponent's monster is in Defense Position, its effect to absorb the opponent's monster can be activated as many times as desired in one turn.

It is well known that many old cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! defy expectations due to lacking this "once per turn" prerequisite...

"Changeable Air Hummingbird, direct attack!"

Seeing the Air Hummingbird flying directly with the absorbed cavalry, Titan remained calm and shouted, "Then activate the Cover Card!

Trap Card 'Blast Armor'! Destroy the monster declaring an attack!"

"A futile struggle," Kagemaru said coldly, "Activate Trap 'Atmospheric Barrier'.

As long as a 'Hummingbird' is present on your field, during the turn it is activated, opponent's monsters cannot attack, and no card effects can destroy the monsters on your field." (Original Card)

The Hummingbird's exclusive shield. A strong airflow emerged from the trap, forming a transparent defensive vortex in front of the Air Hummingbird. The light beam from the opponent's trap struck the vortex barrier, but was deflected back with no damage dealt.

"What?" Titan's expression finally changed, "The trap is useless..."

"Changeable Air Hummingbird, continue the attack!"

"Ugh!"

Manipulated by the airflow, his own Demon Cavalry's lance pierced through his chest, causing Titan to groan and clutch his chest, half-kneeling on the ground.

[Titan, LP 4000→LP 2000]

"This is the power of the Master of Seven-Star," Tania couldn't help but say, "An impeccable attack combining offense and defense, truly impressive."

"The Air Hummingbird."

Daichi isn't unfamiliar with this deck. But watching Kagemaru use this deck, he couldn't help but show a hint of recollection in his eyes, as if reminiscing about the past.

Yugen found this development quite interesting.

The Air Hummingbird, a card with the ability to absorb opponent's monsters, sounds pretty intriguing...

"At the end of the battle phase in which Changeable Air Hummingbird attacked, it switches to Defense Position," Kagemaru said.

[Changeable Air Hummingbird, Attack Power 2000→Defense Power 100]

"Cover three cards, end turn."

Kagemaru's voice remained muffled.

"But at the end of the turn, the monster absorbed by Changeable Air Hummingbird returns to its original owner's field. I'll return your Demon Cavalry to you first."

[Demon Cavalry, Defense Power 0]

Titan seemed to catch his breath and stood up again.

"My turn, draw!"

He reached for a card that ejected from the Duel Disc's card deck at his chest. After looking at the card, he squinted his eyes.

"Let me test the newly acquired power here.

Activate Ritual Magic 'Bullfighter's Descent Ceremony - Dark Entry'!" (Original Card)

Darkness surged across the field, gathering beneath his feet, then transformed into a vortex that shot into the sky.

"This card is the Ritual Magic required for the descent of the 'Demon Bullfighter,'" Titan declared, "From my hand and field, totaling Level 6 or higher monsters as sacrifices to perform the Ritual Summon of the Ritual Monster 'Demon Bullfighter'!"

Back then, Titan originally used a pure Demon Card Deck. The ritual series of Demon Bullfighter was a new card he obtained after embracing darkness and becoming a true Dark Duelist, symbolizing the dark power he acquired.

"Using the Level 6 monster 'Legendary Demon' from my hand as a sacrifice for the ritual summon! Appear!

Warrior of the Demon Realm, Dark Hero—

—Demon Bullfighter, Ritual Summon!!!"

The demon sacrificed disappeared in the sky-high vortex, soon followed by claws tearing through darkness! A demon emanating an evil aura appeared from the chaos, raising its head and issuing a hoarse roar.

[Demon Bullfighter, Attack Power 0]

This was Titan's new power, which he hadn't used in front of the other Grade-A members of Seven-Star, so even the people present didn't know its details.

Seeing him summon this apparent ace monster with such fanfare, emitting a remarkable aura yet standing at 0 Attack and Defense, was truly unexpected.

"A monster with 0 attack?" Mina questioned, "Expending so many resources for a ritual summon..."

"Don't underestimate it," Zarug warned, "Monsters with 0 attack are virtually never to be taken lightly."

There's a saying, zero-attack monsters often possess the strangest powers.

"Heh, Ritual Summon is a Special Summon, I haven't even done a Normal Summon this turn yet."

Titan chuckled sinisterly, revealing another card from his hand.

"I sacrifice 'Demon Cavalry' on the field for an Upper-level Summon!

Using Dark Power, ride the thunder—powerful demon from the Demon Race—

—Demon's Summoning, descend!"

Dark clouds amassed, a golden lightning bolt descended from the clouds. The demon seemed to ride the Celestial Thunder, crashing down amidst the rumble, its skeletal body clad in armor entwined with electricity, letting out a screeching roar.

[Demon's Summoning, Attack Power 2500]

"Oh, two ace cards summoned consecutively in one turn," Zik remarked, "This guy has some capabilities."

"After all, he is one of the Seven-Star," Mina acknowledged, crossing her arms, "Being this capable is as expected, otherwise, he wouldn't be worthy of being our colleague."

"Indeed," Zarug nodded in agreement.

In the group chat, Yugen silently listened, amused.

This Thief Gang may not have great skills, yet they exude overconfidence. Clearly, they were the weakest of the Seven-Star, all five together couldn't match any single executive from another group...

"Battle!" Titan shouted, "Now, release the Dark Power here!

Let the Demon Bullfighter attack! Attack 'Changeable Air Hummingbird'!"

The bullfighter charged forward, moving swiftly and silently, an eerie demeanor.

"Using a 0 attack monster to attack?" Zik questioned.

"Heh, the bullfighter's effect!" Titan sneered, "Demon Bullfighter cannot be destroyed in battle, and any damage inflicted by battle with this card is completely 0 to me.

But any monster it battles with is directly destroyed!"

Zik gasped, "Such a formidable ability!?"

By now, the bullfighter reached the Air Hummingbird. The Hummingbird struggled to counter with gusts and wind blades, but they were as ineffective as stones sinking in the sea.

The bullfighter's claw slashed, causing the Air Hummingbird to explode on the spot, shattered into pieces.
