Chapter 599 - Chapter 576: Ally of Justice

Tongshiyi City.

The sunset poured like molten gold across the horizon, turning the sky into a gentle orange-red. A jet pierced through the radiant dusk, leaving a long trail across the sky that interwove blue and orange like a silver comet.

Yugen—or should I say Revolver—is in this cabin.

Kurosaki respectfully handed him a tablet device.

Yugen took it and casually swiped the screen to look through it.

"Soul Eater." Yugen looked at the information on the screen, "Is that what they call this guy?"

"Yes."

Kurosaki nodded.

"A newcomer who appeared in the last two months, mainly active around Tongshiyi and nearby areas," Kurosaki explained, "Over the past two months, there have been thirteen serial murders, all targeting women with similar appearances.

The common characteristic is that the cause of death cannot be determined by modern science. But according to some reliable intelligence, those with extraordinary powers can instantly see similar dark power fluctuations within the deceased."

"The power of the Dark Game, huh." Yugen said indifferently.

"Yes, if you ask me, it's likely a newly risen power user."

Kurosaki shrugged.

"These incidents are not uncommon. The world is so big, every now and then, an ignorant fool pops up.

Perhaps they accidentally came in contact with some artifact or card and thus gained extraordinary powers unheard of before.

Then, they assume this newly acquired strength represents the ultimate power in the world, and in their inflated ego, they naturally begin to think of wreaking havoc."

He shook his head while speaking.

"Heh, those who can do such things are mostly unrefined individuals who get a bit of prowess and believe they can operate without restraint—truly laughable beyond measure."

Yugen understood what he meant.

If they were truly cultivated by an organized system into Dark Duelists, it's unlikely they'd be so ignorant. Anyone knowledgeable about the extraordinary world should understand there are always greater powers beyond what they know.

The truly formidable bosses can destroy worlds and overturn time, and even when reaching such heights, they don't dare to inflate their egos casually. After all, even the real powerful Evil Gods have long been buried under five meters of earth by now.

Thus, those who know more in the Dark World should realize that truly being able to do whatever they want is nearly impossible. Only those frogs in the well who haven't seen the vast world dare to take pride in their little puddle.

"I still don't understand, boss."

Kurosaki said curiously.

"Why are we going to... uh... I mean, target these guys specifically?"

This wasn't the first time.

Since this Revolver leader returned from the Dark Web, he seemed rather interested in these opportunistic abusers of duel powers, even setting up an intelligence network to gather information on such individuals.

Kurosaki didn't understand why.

Yugen simply smiled slightly at him.

"Because we are partners of justice."

Kurosaki almost choked.

He recalled the leader's duel filled with evil aura and contrasted it with various cunning and ruthless tactics observed during field missions with the leader—more vicious than any drug lord he had ever seen.

"If you're a partner of justice, then this world's justice sure is dark..."

Kurosaki muttered softly.

"What did you say?" Yugen raised his eyebrows.

Kurosaki shivered.

"I... I said the leader's insight is remarkable!"

Fortunately, the voice from the front row pilot interrupted their conversation, saving him.

"Approaching destination."

The pilot in the cabin spoke.

"Alright, open the cabin door."

Yugen got up and stood beside the wall. A white mechanical glider folded up like a backpack was fitted onto his back.

"Need our people to assist?" Kurosaki asked.

"No need. Have the team stand by outside, enter to help clean up after I finish," Yugen waved his hand, "Wait for my signal."

With that, he jumped directly into the turbulent winds outside the cabin.

The gale struck against his goggles, making a slight sound. As a Dark Duelist and with Elf-enhanced physical abilities, he could easily focus on his destination even mid-air and maintain balance.

His arms positioned alongside his body, free-falling and accelerating, then abruptly igniting mid-way. The metal glider unfolded behind him with a whoosh, two tail flames accompanied by engine roar erupted, carving a magnificent arc through the atmosphere.

Below lay an abandoned warehouse, housing several armed subordinates. Originally local mixed-race thugs, they were subdued by Soul Eater's extraordinary means, serving as his henchmen.

Of course, they could only handle ordinary officers. In battles among Dark Duelists, they're insignificant.

Just like now.

Boom!

A roar from the ceiling. The warehouse roof was blasted by monstrous force, collapsing as fiery remnants descended from above, landing in a semi-crouch at the center of the field.

The gangsters were shocked, hurriedly raising their guns to shoot.

Countless bullets clanged around Yugen as he slowly stood up, not even glancing at the henchmen, just uttering carelessly.

"It's your turn."

"Alright!"

A loud shout, as the Black Scorpion Thief Gang charged forth!

The Black Scorpion Five-man Team rushed in, immediately spreading out.

Zarug drew his revolver and aimed with one eye, two shots fired, causing two men to fall from the second-floor walkway, crashing to death.

Mina wielded her long whip, flicking her wrist, the whip came alive like a serpent, snatching the guns from their hands and hurling them back like projectiles, knocking the two out cold.

Cliff pressed a hand against the railing, flipping over some containers where thugs hid, slicing one's throat. Two men retreated quickly, firing shots as bullets sparked around Cliff. Cliff ducked low, Zik propelled off his back, leaping swiftly towards the retreating thugs, delivering a swift spinning kick flipping them over.

Don't underestimate these comedy figures; they are Monster Spirits, more than capable against these gun-toting mortals.

The Black Scorpion Five-man Team managed the warehouse situation smoothly, Yugen didn't glance back even once, walking straight through the cacophony of battle cries filling the warehouse.

Boom!

The locked door thundered open violently, and Yugen stepped into the innermost room, facing his target.

A man appearing in his thirties, bare-chested, with muscles covered in scars, exuding a ferocious and frightening aura.

"Soul Eater?" Yugen raised an eyebrow, scanning him up and down, "Quite an inflated title."
