Chapter 162 - Chapter 160: There's Never a Shortage of Accidents in Charm Class

Watching Conna turn and walk into the Charm class, Kael was stunned. He truly didn't expect that Conna would take his previous words seriously.

This is Felix Felicis after all!

If it were the Weasley Brothers, not to mention a joke, even if they really turned into Crup, they probably wouldn't care!

Kael wanted to say more, but Conna was already seated in the classroom, chatting with her roommate.

Seeing this, Kael could only put away the bottle of Felix Felicis and followed into the classroom.

This class was about learning the Engorgement Charm, a very practical household magic that Hagrid often used.

The pumpkins in his field became huge because of the Engorgement Charm.

That's the most magical part; while magic can't conjure food out of thin air, it can enlarge existing food without altering its taste.

For reasons unknown, few people eat food affected by the Engorgement Charm.

Hagrid's pumpkins ultimately became Halloween decorations.

"Gesture is important..."

Professor Flitwick stood at the front, earnestly saying, "Remember what I said, keep your arm steady, draw a circle with your wrist... And absolutely don't say the wrong spell..."

Although the Engorgement Charm is taught in the second year, it isn't hard, at least easier than Levitating Spells.

Kael looked at the button on the table before him, gently rotating his wand.

"Engorgio!"

Instantly, the button began to rapidly swell like an inflating balloon, soon becoming as large as a plate.

"Oh, well done!" Professor Flitwick clapped and shouted, "Everyone look, we have a successful student, five points to Hufflepuff!"

Kael found it easy, but it was different for others.

Mikel and Ryan imitated Kael, rotating their wrists repeatedly, yet the button lay motionless on the table.

In frustration, Mikel jabbed with his wand... and with a bang, the button flew off, grazing Professor Flitwick's hair and hitting the wall.

Across the room, Gryffindor had similar issues.

"Engorgio... Engorgio!" shouted a young Gryffindor wizard, completely forgetting Professor Flitwick's instructions, waving his arms like a windmill.

The button stayed inert, but due to his large gestures, he accidentally jabbed Katie Bell beside him.

"Merlin's beard..." Professor Flitwick seemed to foresee something, covering his face with his hand.

The next moment, Katie Bell ballooned and floated leisurely to the ceiling.

She appeared terrified, wildly swinging her arms and shrieking.

"Don't panic, Miss Bell, don't panic."

Professor Flitwick quickly ran over, soon restoring her, and had someone escort the shaken Katie Bell to the Hospital Wing.

Such mishaps were common in Charm class, and he handled them deftly.

"Mr. McLeod, your arm movements are too large, it's very dangerous."

Professor Flitwick angrily said, "Ten points from Gryffindor!"

After Charm class, Kael intended to find Conna, but she had already left ahead of him.

Nor did she mention the matter afterward, as if it wasn't precious Felix Felicis, but just a bottle of ubiquitous pumpkin juice.

...

There are no secrets at Hogwarts.

The incident of Gryffindor's McLeod inflating his classmate spread by the next day.

"That's incredible."

At the dining table, Harry ate toast, curiously asking Ron beside him, "How do you think he managed that..."

"Let's not worry about that."

Ron clearly didn't want to discuss it, eagerly asking Harry, "Is it true, did Professor McGonagall really make you Seeker?"

"That's what Professor McGonagall said."

Harry replied, "She also took me to meet a fifth-year named Wood, said he would train me."

"Oliver Wood?" Ron asked.

Harry nodded.

"He's Gryffindor's Quidditch Captain, it's incredible, you're only a first year."

Ron shoved the pie he was holding into his mouth, saying, "Harry, you must be the youngest House team player in many years."

"In a century." Harry picked up a pie, "Wood told me."

"A century..."

Ron sat there, dumbstruck, staring at Harry.

"My training starts tomorrow." Harry said, "Don't tell anyone, Wood wants it kept secret."

At that moment, Fred and George entered the Auditorium, spotting Harry and walking over quickly.

"Good job." George whispered, "Wood told us, we're on the House team too, we're Beaters."

"Let me tell you, we're sure to win the House Cup this year." Fred said excitedly, "You wouldn't believe how surprised Cedric and Kael were when they heard."

"They're on the Hufflepuff team." George said, "Before this, they thought Gryffindor would surely lose, huh... two foolish top students."

"Has Kael joined the Quidditch team?"

Harry was a bit shocked, he always thought someone as accomplished as Kael would only care about studies like Hermione, yet he didn't expect him to enjoy Quidditch too.

"Technically not yet." Fred said, "But he has the final tryout tomorrow, if he passes, he'll be on the team."

"You could go check it out, get a head start on knowing the opposition insights..."

"Can I?" Harry's eyes lit up, "I mean, isn't that a Hufflepuff tryout?"

He was currently interested in everything related to Quidditch, and if he could see how others play first, that would be great.

"Go ahead." Fred chuckled, "Slytherin certainly wouldn't allow it, but Hufflepuff wouldn't mind."

"We have to go, Lee Jordan thinks he's found a new secret passageway leading outside the school."

"I bet it's the passage behind the Gregory the Smarmy statue, we found it on our first day here."

"Good luck, see you."

"See you!" Harry waved to them, turning to ask Ron, "I'm planning to go check it out tomorrow, want to join?"

"Let's do it." Ron thought for a moment, "Though I'll likely deflate your spirits, I've watched Kael and Fred play Quidditch, he's really talented."

"Really..."

Harry's curiosity burned even more with Ron's words, like a cat itching to see it come tomorrow.
