The Quidditch craze at Hogwarts lasted for quite a while, and the related books in the library were quickly borrowed out, with people wanting to borrow them lining up until after Christmas.
"I should have come earlier."
At the entrance of the second-floor library, Harry said somewhat regretfully.
Tomorrow night at seven is his training time, and he was thinking about looking at the related books in advance to learn more about this subject.
But the librarian, Madam Pince, told him that there were no books left, and if he wanted to see them, he would have to wait until after Christmas.
And now it's still several months until Christmas, the wait time is too long.
"There's nothing we can do about it." Ron said with a smile: "Everyone is talking about Quidditch. If you don't know anything, you'll be laughed at."
While speaking, Ron couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth.
Knowing something about Quidditch, coupled with having two brothers on the house team, he has been quite popular these days, with a group of young wizards surrounding him wherever he goes.
This feeling of being focused on and valued by everyone is something he has never experienced before.
"Why don't we ask Hermione?"
Harry tentatively said: "I remember she has a copy of 'Quidditch Through the Ages', not sure if she's returned it yet."
"I think we better forget it."
Upon hearing that name, Ron's grin quickly disappeared.
He frowned and said wryly: "Since coming back from the fourth floor, she hasn't spoken to us for a long time.
And everyone in Gryffindor knows that Hermione's borrowed books never exceed three days."
With Ron saying this, Harry remembered... Hermione was indeed like that.
From the first day of school, she always carried two books with her: one was the textbook needed for class, the other was borrowed from the library.
It wasn't just for show, she was really reading.
Also, in the common room, she seldom interacted with other young wizards, always quietly sitting in a corner reading.
No one knows who first noticed, but she would basically change the library books she borrowed every three days.
Seamus Finnigan even vowed to bet with the two that she wouldn't last a month.
However, from the current situation, it seems he might lose. If Hermione changes books again tomorrow, he'll have to buy a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans for everyone in the dormitory.
Harry didn't care much about a box of candy, but he still couldn't figure out how Hermione managed to finish a book in two or three days.
To him, even finishing a book in two weeks would be a very difficult task.
"Let's forget it then." Harry sighed.
Actually, he was quite afraid of seeing Hermione, the invisible aura from a top student always made him nervous.
"How about, asking Kai?"
At this moment, Ron suddenly said: "I heard from Fred and George that he has books on Quidditch, and not just one."
Harry was somewhat tempted but still hesitated: "But, I don't know Kai, will he lend me a book?"
"Don't worry, I'm here." Ron patted his chest, then pulled Harry downstairs.
"Besides, whether it works or not, you have to try to find out... follow me, let's go find him now."
The two of them searched around the castle, from the underground classroom to the Astronomy Tower, but they couldn't find Kai.
Not only that, but even the twins and Cedric seemed to have disappeared.
Finally, it was while standing at the Astronomy Tower that Harry inadvertently swept a glance outside the castle, then he saw a few people fishing by the Black Lake.
…
"So, you're looking for me to borrow Quidditch books?"
By the Black Lake, Kai looked at the panting pair and asked: "Isn't there any in the library? The collection there is much richer than what I have here, you can directly borrow them."
"They're all borrowed out." Harry caught his breath and said somewhat nervously: "Madam Pince said you'll have to wait until after Christmas to get any."
On the way here, Ron suggested he could ask to borrow the books, but Harry thought it best to speak directly himself.
After all, he was the one who really wanted to read the books, not Ron.
"Quidditch books are so popular now?"
Kai looked at Harry's tense face and didn't say much, he directly took out his wand.
"Origin of Quidditch, come here!"
Soon, a thick book traced an arc mid-air and landed gently in Kai's hand.
"You can start with this book."
Kai handed the book to Harry, "There are some flight guides inside, suitable for newbies like you."
"Thank, thank you!"
Harry quickly took it, "I'll return it to you as soon as possible."
Kai waved his hand and said: "No worries, I don't need this book now, feel free to read."
After Harry thanked him again, he and Ron returned to the castle.
Once they left, Kai turned to Fred and George beside him and wondered: "What's wrong with you guys."
Ron had actively greeted them earlier, but the twins seemed not to hear, not even turning their heads.
This was quite unusual.
Fred and George always liked to tease their little brother, but they never ignored him; they would at least exchange a few words.
"Nothing, we just purely don't want to talk to him." Fred sighed.
"We used to think Ron wasn't smart, but never thought he was this dumb."
"How come..." Kai seemed to sense some drama.
George asked: "Remember the last time we ran into them on the fourth floor?"
Kai nodded, not only did he remember, he saw them in person.
"We've inquired."
Fred said: "They accepted Malfoy's challenge for a wizard duel, which is why they went to the fourth floor."
"Wizard duel?" Cedric instinctively said: "Slytherins don't easily issue wizard duels, it's clearly a trap."
"Who says it isn't."
George shook his head and said: "Curfew time, on the easiest-to-catch fourth floor, a wizard duel... combined, even a Goblin could see it's a trap."
"But Ron actually believed it..."
"Merlin, is he really a Weasley?"
"Uh..." Cedric opened his mouth, seemingly wanting to say something in Ron's defense, but didn't know what to say.
After all, Charlie, Percy, and the twins were all very smart, and compared to them, Ron's mind really wasn't that sharp.
"He fell for the simplest trick..." Fred shook the fishing rod in his hand: "He's even worse than the fish in the Black Lake!"
