Chapter 344 - Chapter 342: Fire Dragon Free-for-All

Now, Kael finally understood what Charlie meant just now.

A Hungarian Horntail roared and spewed dragon flame, completely shattering the surrounding calm.

Immediately afterward, various Fire Dragons took off like kites, roaring and spewing blazing dragon flame.

The dragon tamers took out their broomsticks at the fastest speed and quickly flew away from the field.

"Dammit, Norbert just laid a dragon egg!" Herman anxiously rushed out, "How come they're so ahead of schedule this time, don't they need rest?"

"Stay safe, Kael!"

Charlie shoved the pancake into his pocket and followed by riding his broomstick.

In the blink of an eye, more than half of the people were gone.

The remaining people also put away their smiles and quickly left the field.

"Let's go too." At this moment, Newt came up beside Kael, "Do you have your broomstick? If not, there should be spares here."

"I have one." Kael took out his Nimbus 2000 and asked in confusion, "But where are we headed, are we going along to negotiate with the Fire Dragons?"

Nearby, Edward Lima paused when he heard this and turned to glance at Kael.

Young man, this idea of yours is very dangerous.

Go negotiate with Fire Dragons?

This kid must be a Gryffindor!

"Of course not." Newt shook his head with a smile, explaining, "We can't stop the Fire Dragons from fighting, nor should we.

Fire Dragons are proud creatures; if wizards intervene, the battle will never end.

For the reserve, this is a necessary process."

Kael followed Newt into the depths of the reserve and stopped on a hill.

"So what are we supposed to do?"

"It's simple, heal those who lose the battle and have already admitted defeat, don't let them die."

Newt handed three large bottles to Kael.

"These are the magic potions needed to treat Fire Dragons, the instructions are on them, take a quick look so you don't mess up later."

Kael hurriedly accepted the bottles.

The largest bottle had a label saying, "Burns, apply."

There was also Dittany Essence, which Kael recognized; it should be for treating scratches and bites.

The last bottle's label read Sleep Potion... not Draught of Living Death, but a more potent beast-use potion.

Kael looked down at the potions, and Newt kept his eyes on the fierce battle in the sky.

Hours passed...

The sky grew darker, and by nightfall, the battle showed no sign of abating.

During this time, Kael had collected two bottles of dragon blood, a small bag of dragon scales, seven broken teeth, and half a claw.

These were all fallen from the sky, there were more elsewhere but too far for Kael to reach.

Moreover, he wasn't the only one doing this.

Very far away on another hill, a small black dot quickly moved, scooping up dragon scales and teeth from the ground.

It was a house-elf, though whose it belonged to was unknown.

Too far to see clearly.

Plus, house-elves almost all look alike, so even if Kael could see it clearly, he might not recognize it.

The mêlée lasted from the afternoon until midnight.

The Fire Dragon Reserve had no searchlights, but the dragon flames in the sky illuminated the surroundings brightly.

After about half an hour, a pale-blue Swedish Short-Snout suddenly fell from the sky, crashing into a nearby forest.

"Does this count as losing?"

Kael was just about to go check when he was stopped by a hand.

Newt shook his head, "Not yet, wait a bit longer."

As soon as he finished speaking, the dragon struggled to fly back up.

"We must wait for the Fire Dragons to voluntarily concede, or become unconscious in near-death for us to treat them."

Newt said, "Stay patient, this is bound to be a tedious process."

"But what if we encounter one of those stubborn ones that won't concede?" Kael looked at the Swedish Short-Snout in the sky who couldn't even fly steadily.

It was fighting an Antipodean Opaleye over a valley with a lake and its wings were almost broken.

Of course, the Antipodean Opaleye wasn't in good shape either, half of the dragon blood Kael collected came from them.

"Won't concede, then we can only wait for another situation." Newt said, "For Fire Dragons, losing consciousness in battle is equivalent to losing, though for us it might be a bit more troublesome."

After more than ten minutes...

The Swedish Short-Snout fell from the sky again, its left wing completely broken, hanging limply beside it, and its tail was missing a segment.

The Antipodean Opaleye followed it down, pressing its claw on its head, attempting to bite its neck.

The Short-Snout immediately let out a short and sharp cry...

"It conceded..."

Kael hadn't finished speaking before Newt left the hill, moving nimbly unlike a man in his nineties.

The Antipodean Opaleye released its grip, blew a victorious flame into the sky, and then spread its wings and flew away.

When Kael arrived, Newt was checking the Short-Snout's condition.

Actually, the task was not as simple as imagined.

Losing the battle was annoying enough... and a Fire Dragon in a bad mood doesn't care if they're there to help treat or anything else, it sneezed at Newt.

A burst of flame brushed his hair and landed on the tree behind him.

Newt had long been used to such situations, he adeptly pulled out his wand.

"Stupefy!"

The Short-Snout's head wobbled, though it didn't completely faint, it calmed down quite a bit.

"Now it's up to you." Newt applied Dittany Essence to its neck, speaking without looking back.

Kael sighed.

Looks like he's just a translator...

But you know, this isn't his first or second time, he's gotten used to it.

It's just that before he was chatting with Invisible Beast, Bird Snake, now it's changed to Fire Dragon, essentially there's no difference.

Kael walked over to the Swedish Short-Snout's head and said a few words to it.

Realizing it could understand this human wizard, the Short-Snout surprisingly lifted its head slightly.

Yet soon, it felt much better where it hurt, so it gently closed its eyes.

Its throat moved slightly, emitting a faint rumbling sound.

Hearing this sound, Newt laughed and said, "Sure enough, bringing you was much more convenient, otherwise I'd have to use magic potions to calm it down.

Was it just expressing thanks just now?"

"No..."

Kael's lips twitched, "Actually, it was cursing us for meddling, and very rudely."

Newt paused briefly with the bottle in his hand.

"I'd say we let it be."

Kael said indignantly, "Dittany Essence is so expensive, using it on this feels like a bit of a waste."
