Later, princesses from different kingdoms arrived with their friends and relatives. The party was bigger than I expected. Every family was showing off their daughter's beauty.
I stood at a corner, watching them while waiting for the queen to come out.
"Are you jealous, my queen?" I suddenly heard a whisper near my ear. I flinched and turned. My heart skipped, it was him, dressed in his royal attire. His hair was neatly combed, and his aura felt even more powerful, almost matching his father's.
I quickly looked around. "You shouldn't be here."
He chuckled and slipped his hands into his pockets. "Just wanted to check if you're okay. Don't worry." Then he bent slightly, his voice softer. "My heart is always for you." He straightened up and walked away, six royal guards following behind.
I watched his back and sighed, He's already a king… just not announced yet. I sighed in relief, glad no one noticed us. Ethan wasn't afraid of anyone, not even his mother. That's the confidence of a true king. But me? I'll have to face the consequences.
My eyes followed him. One of the princesses smiled and bowed at him, but he didn't even glance her way. I couldn't help but chuckle. "Ethan is so arrogant," I murmured.
"What's funny? I've been looking for you!" Rosie said, appearing beside me. "Let's go meet the queen."
I nodded and followed her. Soon, we found the queen. She was wearing a heavy black and gold royal dress, almost like ours, just more elegant and expensive. "She's beautiful," I whispered to Rosie.
The queen raised a brow and glanced at me. I quickly bowed my head.
"I knew it," she snorted.
Rosie and I burst out laughing. We didn't even know why. Maybe because we both realised, Ethan got his arrogance from her. I shook my head and glanced at her, then I saw her smiling.
We followed behind the queen toward the throne. I was holding my breath, this is my first time meeting the other royal families!
"Hi, my queen," a beautiful princess with long brown hair said, bowing dramatically.
The woman beside her tapped her hand and whispered, "This isn't the city, Elena."
The girl giggled. "Oh, I'm sorry, Your Majesty."
I rolled my eyes as the queen smiled at her. Wait, the queen is smiling? Rosie and I exchanged a look. We both knew Elena had already won her heart.
"Ah, forgive her," Elena's mother said, smiling. "It took us ages to prepare her for today."
Queen Susan chuckled and creased Elena's cheek. "So beautiful," she murmured.
Elena smiled shyly. "I told you, Mom, I'm beautiful without makeup," she said, making both women laugh. She definitely said that on purpose.
Suddenly, the guards blew their trumpets. Another group of royal guards in blue uniforms entered from another kingdom.
"King Clifford Peyton is here!" our guard announced.
A tall man walked in, and everyone bowed.
"Father!" the spoiled brat, Elena, ran to him immediately, hugging him. "The queen said I'm beautiful!" she whispered, giggling.
The king raised a brow. "Really? And you're happy? Did you hear it directly from Ethan?"
I chuckled. One thing about those kings, they're always honest. They aren't afraid to tell the truth.
Elena held her father's arm as they walked toward King Ambrose's throne. Ethan was sitting beside his father, on the queen's throne with a bored expression. Judging by his expression, the queen must have forced him to sit on her throne. Thomas sat beside Ethan, as usual, looking uninterested.
King Ambrose stood when Clifford reached him. "You're shameless. Sit down!" he said.
Elena laughed. She must know her father and King Ambrose are close.
King Ambrose sighed and sat down. "You're hard to please," he muttered.
" Johnson won't be coming, but his son Elijah will come," King Clifford said.
I leaned toward Rosie and whispered, "Are they always like that?"
I've never seen another king act so casually around ours.
"That's the second most powerful king, the other king he mentioned is the third most powerful king," Rosie explained. "King Clifford rules the Wales Kingdom and is also the king's best friend, just like Prince Ethan and Prince Elijah."
Later, Elijah entered with his mother, another beautiful queen, dressed as a crown prince. I frowned. "Elijah is a crown prince too?"
"Of course. Like I said, his father is the third most powerful king out of the top five. They probably want to find him a wife too," Rosie said with a giggle.
I was shocked. " You didn't tell me it's Elijah's father!" I never knew my childhood friends were this powerful. Elijah's face was serious as his mother pulled him along.
"He's also the second most handsome prince. Prince Thomas is third," Rosie whispered, blushing.
When Queen Susan saw him, she immediately spread her arms and hugged him. He must be her favourite or maybe she just likes him because he's Ethan's friend.
"Prince Elijah used to live here with Prince Ethan," Rosie added. "He even followed him to live with his grandparents once."
"Oh… so the queen has raised him before?" I asked. Rosie nodded.
Elijah looked my way and winked. I sighed and muttered, "Oh please, I don't know you."
"Hi, Elijah," Elena said with a smile.
Elijah ignored her and went straight to greet Ethan. Elena's smile faded instantly.
"Welcome to the Giant Silver Party!" the queen announced, raising her glass.
"Giant Silver?" I asked in confusion.
"That's the name of this kingdom," Rosie whispered.
"Weird name."
" Giant' stands for their strength among other kingdoms, and 'Silver' was their ancestors' favourite colour, even their hair. That's why it's called the Silver Kingdom. Back then, everyone wore silver or gold, but things are more modern now."
"Oh…" I nodded. There was so much I didn't know about this place. It doesn't matter anyway, I'd be leaving next month.
"I can see many pretty faces here, son," the queen said, glancing at Ethan.
Everyone went quiet, waiting for him to speak or make his choice, but this boyfriend of mine focused on his phone, after some seconds, he raised a brow and glanced at his mother.
