I was ready to take this battle till the end. If it came to the point where I had to choose, my answer was quite obvious and needed not to be said.
'Of course, it's Sulin… Feather, White Feather. Gods, what the heck is wrong with me, Cade! Focus! Put your head here.'
It was a minor slip, but there was no heck way I was choosing Sulin over White Feather.
Resounding such words to myself, for some reason, my throat tasted dry. And so conveniently, the memories of the atrocities of the few days before with Sulin chose this moment to torment me.
To be honest, she offered a new world of pleasure to me. She released a monster that I wouldn't mind letting out.
And with her, I didn't have to be scared, not because she could take it. There was hell no way that anyone could. Rather, it was because she asked for it.
She wanted it desperately.
And I gave it to her.
So for me, I was getting to discover that perhaps there was something that I was searching for after all.
