Chapter 115: Machine Soul?! This is a Machine Soul?!
The psionic palm swung violently, sweeping towards the corrupting power of the four gods at an unimaginable speed. The chaotic runes and vortexes collapsed instantly, and the whispers of the four gods were abruptly cut off.
The golden psionic flames, bright as the blazing sun, shattered the dark energy corrupting Titan and Francis. The chaotic runes on Titan's body were torn apart layer by layer, revealing the original active metallic luster beneath.
Ahha~
Francis even heard Titan let out a soft moan, a sound no machine should make.
He dared not think about anything now. It all happened so suddenly.
The psionic palm did not stop. It rushed straight towards the warp rift and slammed down, pressing the expanding crack closed with the weight of a god's will.
The entire void of the solar system trembled, and countless chaotic daemons were instantly vaporized, without even time to utter a wail.
A brief silence fell over the battlefield.
The enormous psionic palm slowly retracted and disappeared into Terra's radiance.
Horus stood in the center of the control room, his figure tall yet twisted, his armor writhing as if alive. Chaotic runes emerged on its smooth surface as he stared at the projection screen displaying the Titan Abyss Howl and the Emperor's massive psionic hand shattering the corruption of the Four Gods.
"Enough! Enough!" Horus's voice boomed through the control room like a wild beast on the verge of madness. His fists clenched, and the golden-red light in his eyes intensified.
His rage erupted like a volcano, threatening to shatter the entire bridge.
"Why! Why did you go to save Francis?!"
His voice was a mixture of anger and sarcasm.
"You're still the same, wanting to control everything, wanting it all to go according to your will! But don't even think about it! I will personally crush your pride and destroy your Imperium!"
At that very moment, the whispers of the four gods rang in Horus's ears once more, an indescribable low hum and sharp hiss, each word carrying irresistible temptation and corruption.
"Great King... Dark Emperor... You are the true ruler of this galaxy."
"Accept more of our strength, and we will open all doors to victory for you."
"Let that hypocritical Emperor see how laughable his glory is in the face of Chaos."
Horus tried to resist, but the chaotic patterns on his body grew increasingly hot, as if they were merging into his soul. He felt his own thoughts slipping, drowning beneath something vast and hungry.
"Wait! Wait a little longer...I can do it!" he gasped, but his voice cracked with despair.
"Ughhhhh~"
Unfortunately, the power of the four gods surged into his body once again, turning his rage into an endless desire for destruction. His consciousness was wholly and gradually suppressed, and his body became a vessel for the will of the Four Gods.
Horus's pupils were completely filled with dark light, and the cloak on his back burned into black flames. He raised his head, his eyes devoid of any personal light. His voice was low and distorted.
"That's enough. This game should end."
He suddenly stretched out his hand, and a dark wave of psionic energy instantly enveloped the entire Vengeful Spirit. The chaotic barrier that had surrounded the warship began to crumble, as if his will had forcibly removed it.
"EMPEROR!" Horus's voice pierced through the void, reaching the depths of the solar system. "I'm here! Drop your pretenses and schemes! Put everything into this battle."
From the depths of the Warp came the maniacal laughter of the four gods, their will infused into Horus's body. He was manipulated like a puppet, a feeling that brought them pleasure.
The Chaos barrier of the Vengeful Spirit completely dissipated, revealing the warship's menacing steel hull.
Horus stood in the center of the bridge, psionic flames burning fiercely behind him. His body had become a vessel for the power of the Four Gods, but he still outwardly maintained the pride and anger that drove him to confront the Emperor head-on.
When Sanguinius, who had been keeping a close eye on the Vengeful Spirit, witnessed all of this, his eyes gleamed with intense anger like two burning stars.
He gripped his longsword tightly, and the strange runes on its blade trembled slightly, sensing their master's anger and emitting a dazzling light.
"HORUSSS!!"
Sanguinius let out a deafening roar that pierced through the clamor of the battlefield and could even be heard by distant fleets. His voice was filled with endless pain and anger, as if it could tear the entire void apart.
Rage made Sanguinius move with lightning speed. He spread his blood-stained wings, and holy light suddenly burst forth around him, as if a new star had been ignited in the void.
He leaped forward, transforming into a blazing golden meteor, hurtling towards the Vengeful Spirit with unstoppable force. His figure trailed a long golden streak in the void, like a sacred spear piercing the enemy's heart.
Chaos daemons and fallen warriors along the way tried to stop him, but his holy light burned like flames, and everything that came near him was instantly reduced to ashes.
With a sweep of his sword, even the small warships around him were cleaved in two.
Bang!
Sanguinius descended like a blazing meteor, his wings unfurled like a vengeful angel, stepping onto the corroded steel deck of the Vengeful Spirit.
The longsword in his hand gleamed with dazzling golden light, reflecting off the deck's scarred surface.
Not far away, Horus stood, his armor like a dark abyss, wreathed in malevolent flames and crimson runes. His cold eyes were filled with endless madness.
"Sanguinius! Embrace the Blood God, and you will gain true freedom!" His voice was distorted, layered with countless consciousnesses speaking simultaneously. "Come! Humanity can only be plunged into Chaos in the end! Come and chant with me the blood sacrifice to the Blood God..."
"Carlos is dead, and I have no desire to question right or wrong anymore!"
Sanguinius's response was immediate and furious. "Horus! I will make you pay the price!!!"
His voice filled with rage, he launched the first attack. His sword sliced through the air, striking Horus like lightning.
However, Horus raised his hand and swung the Talon of Horus to meet the attack, resulting in a deafening metallic clang.
The brilliance of psionic energy and the darkness of Chaos exploded the moment they came into contact, sparks flying everywhere and tearing the surrounding air into a vortex of chaos.
"You can't stop me after all, Sanguinius," Horus growled, swinging his power claw forward with a force like a mountain pressing down. "Your faith is nothing but the Emperor's lies! It's just a child, we can have more!"
Upon hearing this, Sanguinius felt an incomparably violent power about to burst forth, and he roared with bloodshot eyes.
"He is not just a son! His name is Carlos Stufanos! He's the Apothecary of the Blood Angels Legion!!!"
Sanguinius's blade blocked the attack, but the immense impact forced him back several steps. He gritted his teeth, and holy light shone around him once more, dispelling the surrounding chaotic mist.
However, Horus's power was greater than ever before, and his movements were incredibly fast and violent, each strike carrying devastating force.
"Face reality, Sanguinius!" Horus laughed wildly, and his power claw struck Sanguinius's sword blade, sending him flying to the side. "You're nothing but a tool destined to fail!"
Sanguinius rolled to his feet, but a deep tear had been ripped into his chest armor by the power claw, and blood seeped from the wound.
He could feel the warp-taint in the wound, burning like acid.
Francis, who had witnessed the entire event, had bloodshot eyes. He frantically tried to control the Titan, but it hadn't moved an inch since the beginning.
"Get moving! Get moving now!" he roared, his hands pulling desperately at the controls. "Why did we stop? Now is not the time to rest!"
His voice was filled with boundless rage. He absolutely would not allow anything to happen to Sanguinius.
Before the Titan could respond, a new presence manifested before him, a virtual projection suddenly flickering to life.
The figure was female, with a striking and aloof appearance. Yet her eyes revealed a hint of weariness and despair as she looked down at Francis, her voice tinged with resentment and exhaustion.
"I...I'm really badly injured and can't move for the time being."
Francis froze. "A machine spirit?! This is a machine spirit?!"
All of this flooded into his mind at once. She was speaking, not through static or binary cant, but with actual emotion and personality.
"Those explosions nearly tore my core circuitry apart," the spirit continued, frustration evident in her tone. "Now I have to rely on active metals to self-repair just to maintain basic structural integrity!"
"Too late!!!" Francis roared, slamming his fist on the control panel. "I don't want to stop either!"
The machine spirit frowned, its tone tinged with grievance and dissatisfaction. "But my psionic coordination array is almost falling apart from all that chaotic energy. Do you know how difficult it is to operate right now? It's like running a marathon in high heels!"
She paused, her expression hardening. "If you want me to explode here, then go ahead and push it!"
Francis took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. He fell silent for a moment, then turned to roar at the Soul Drinkers stationed below.
"Blackstone elites, all of you follow me! The rest of you, wait for Titan to repair itself before launching an attack!"
At his command, Francis was the first to leap from the Titan's shoulder. His movements were swift as the wind, charging straight towards the center of the Vengeful Spirit.
The Soul Drinkers behind him were all armed to the teeth with blackstone. They carried giant blackstone coffins and followed closely behind, like black meteors streaking across the ruins of the warship.
During their descent, the forces of Chaos clearly sensed their presence. A horde of daemons swarmed towards them, their shrieks piercing the air.
"Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!!!"
The greater daemon of Khorne, Ka'bandha, returned to the stage. He looked at his opponents with a mocking gaze, showing no regard for anyone except Sanguinius.
Bang bang bang!
"Daemon! Times have changed!" Francis's voice cut through the chaos as several blackstone rounds were fired in rapid succession.
Ka'bandha's shrill scream followed immediately. "Aaaaaah~"
