Chapter 180: Blocking the Door
At this particular moment, Francis even felt it was finally time for the old man to abdicate from his position!
He could feel just how incredibly powerful he had become, and even solving the problem of the old man by going deep into the Warp would be easy enough for him.
Swish, swish, swish!
More and more Ork Attack Moons appeared next to the Ork Planet, each one filled with fanatical Ork Boyz, noisy mechanical devices, and battle engines that were constantly spewing black smoke into the void.
On the ground below, countless Ork Boyz crowded every single corner of the planet, all of them gathered before Francis, awaiting his upcoming speech with anticipation.
On a towering giant platform, Francis wore a cloak made of countless Ork battle banners that had been stitched together, and behind him there stood a colossal statue that the Ork Boyz had just recently completed.
Francis raised both of his arms high, his gaze sweeping over the excited sea of Orks gathered below, and then he roared in a loud, slightly hoarse voice that carried across the masses.
"Brothers! Family!"
"Do you see that?"
Following the direction of Francis's pointing finger, they all looked towards the Eye of Terror in the distance, their faces filled with visible confusion.
The Ork Boyz, scratching their butts with one hand and their heads with the other hand, roared back at him in unison.
"WHAZZZ THZZAAT!!!"
The massive roar was like rolling thunder across the landscape, and Francis continued to bellow at the top of his lungs.
"That's the way we came from!"
"Do you want to get a good Waaagh going? If you want one, then go find it! YOU go find it! They put all the Waaagh there!"
"Let's find them!! and give them the WAGHHHH!!!" As the sound of his voice gradually faded away, the surroundings fell silent instantly, and all the Orks stared blankly at him until they finally reacted to his words.
"Waaaaaaaagh!!!"
The Orks completely descended into absolute madness, whether on the Attack Moons or on the ground, every single Ork was roaring loudly, jumping wildly, wishing they could rush towards the Eye of Terror immediately without delay.
Francis finally waved his hand again, pointing directly to the Eye of Terror, and roared with renewed fervor.
"This will be the home of us brave ones, building a pilgrimage road that belongs only to us!"
"Waaaaaaagh~"
The Ork Boyz cheered with immense fanaticism, their voices echoing across the planet.
Right at the entrance of the Eye of Terror, countless Ork Boyz were busy building an epic super fortress of unprecedented scale.
The fortress was astonishing in its scale, its core being a giant metal castle whose outer walls were pieced together from countless armored plates of plundered warships, all glowing with green Waaagh energy. The fortress was surrounded by massive defensive turrets on all sides.
At the edges of the fortress, countless teleportation nodes were being reinforced by the Big Meks with their tools.
Swish, swish, swish!
Around the fortress, Ork warships poured into the Eye of Terror like a rushing torrent of green metal.
Before long, screams like slaughtered pigs emanated from deep within the Eye of Terror, and an epic, long-lasting green crusade began in earnest.
However, Francis did not enter the Eye himself; instead, he sat in the Hall of the Throne on the Ork Planet, constantly compiling something with intense focus.
For the development of the Orks, he could not afford to stop; he had already compiled "On the Sustainable Development of Orks," "On the Importance of Diverse Competitions in Ork Sports," "Standard Squig Rearing Manual," "Ork Capital," "The Holy Book of Green-skinned Orks," and more titles besides.
As he continued compiling his works, Magnus walked into the hall. He looked at the other's diligent work before him, and a strong sense of incongruity struck him immediately.
Is this Francis? He's like a completely different person entirely!
Seeing the other's confused expression on his face, Francis rubbed his shoulders and said earnestly to him.
"Magnus! Do you know why my shoulder hurts so much?"
Magnus stared at him blankly. "???"
Shoulder pain? He had never heard of such a thing; how could a Primarch ever have shoulder pain!
Seeing that the other did not speak in response, Francis continued with his explanation. "Because I carry an entire Ork Empire on my shoulders!"
Magnus. "...."
Seeing that the other still did not speak at all, Francis explained with immense kindness in his tone. "You don't understand the situation Brother. In the Imperium, I was just an employee, so of course, I would slack off!"
"But now...now it's different; I've started my own business! At this time, I must be one hundred and twenty percent focused on success!"
Magnus. "..."
Hearing this explanation, he really wanted to hit someone; he knew that Francis's proper behavior wouldn't last a single Terra hour at all.
But thinking of the urgent message he had just received, he finally spoke up.
"Actually, I...." Before he could finish his sentence, Francis waved his hand dismissively, gave the other a firm look, and said with conviction.
"Don't rush things, my beautiful brother. I will make you the crown prince in the future!"
"Don't be anxious about it!"
Hearing this declaration, Magnus's eyes instantly widened in disbelief, and his finger trembled as he pointed at the other accusingly. "You! You!! You!!!"
He felt as if all his psychic power had rushed to his head, and he was about to explode the very next second!
Finally, he roared in genuine anger at Francis. "You're full of complete nonsense! I came here to tell you that the Mechanicum has rebelled against us! They've created a bunch of abominable intelligences and are attacking Terra right now!!"
Hearing this news, Francis frowned and pondered the situation. After a brief moment, he stood up from his seat. "Let's go! I already have a plan to repel the enemy!"
"That fast? Tell me about it," Magnus asked with curiosity.
Magnus was very curious; how could another Primarch think so quickly about such matters?
"It won't work if I say it out loud! Let's go!" Francis replied evasively.
As soon as they stepped outside the hall, he saw several burly Ork Boyz making various strange poses with serious expressions on their faces.
"What are they doing?" Magnus asked with confusion.
Magnus was very curious; he had also studied Ork psychic abilities extensively, so he understood some Ork habits fairly well.
But this scene before him, he truly did not know or understand.
Francis was a bit conflicted, wanting to say it but knowing that such things are like farts from the old man, they can't be held in!
Just as he was about to speak up, he saw the Ork Boyz squat down forcefully, letting out a loud "thump" sound as they did so. One by one, glowing green "eggs" were produced from their bodies.
Afterward, they started competing to see whose egg was bigger, whose egg was rounder, and for this competition, several Ork Boyz watching the competition argued fiercely, even breaking into a physical fight.
Seeing this scene unfold before him, Magnus mechanically turned his head, saying with a look of utter despair on his face.
"Don't tell me that the artificial eggs sent out by the cult and the eggs in the holy communion are all produced this way!"
Because the Son-Soldier had told him that the artificial eggs in the cult were very delicious, he had just devoured a small basin of them when he first arrived. Now he was being told that the artificial eggs were not actually artificial at all!
He was a bit on the verge of breaking down mentally; he hoped Francis would lie to comfort him about it.
Unexpectedly, Francis did not lie....
"Yes! Think about it! How could I possibly have so many artificial eggs to feed them every single day! These are all from the egg-laying competition I organized for them. This way, the supply of artificial eggs is guaranteed, and the Ork Boyz won't be idle."
"How good is that!" Francis didn't even look at the other's face, only to see tears of pain streaming from Magnus's eyes in response.
He shouldn't have been curious about where the food he ate came from in the first place!
...
Soon, they gathered the legion and arrived at the command deck of the Ork Attack Moon together.
A Big Mek covered in paint ran onto the deck, shouting and waving a strange wrench that was filled with gears and lightning symbols all over it.
"Boss, the Attack Moon's teleportation device is ready! We can 'zoom' to Terra anytime you want!"
Magnus, with a complex expression on his face, frowned slightly and said with doubt, "Is this really going to work properly?"
"You'll know soon enough! This is even faster than a psychic phone!" Francis replied confidently.
Before Magnus could react to this, Francis slammed his fist on the button.
Whoosh!
The Attack Moon instantly vanished from its original location in space.
Konrad Curze on Cadia didn't notice their departure at all, and even the Night Lords didn't move from their positions; they were all intently watching comic books and movies with focus.
"Why is this Batman always whining! Just kill the Joker already!" one Night Lord complained.
"Exactly! What kind of justice is this?! He just said he wouldn't kill anyone, and then his own kidney gets stabbed, sigh~" another agreed.
"Don't say that! We're about to start performing our duties for the Inquisition; if we kill everyone, there will be no followers left!" a third pointed out.
They didn't notice that Konrad Curze's gaze towards Batman on the screen grew brighter and brighter, and he muttered under his breath.
"Do you bleed?"
On Terra itself.
Boom!!!
Soaring flames erupted from the core of the hall, a massive shockwave swept all around in every direction, accompanied by the sound of metal and stone cracking apart, and the entire building instantly turned into a smoke-filled ruin.
Malcador instantly teleported out of the building, but his psychic shield hadn't fully solidified yet, and the aftershocks of the explosion still rushed at him like a violent torrent.
Bang!!
His figure was thrown dozens of meters through the air, crashing into a hard wall, leaving a deep indentation in the surface.
"Pfft!"
Malcador coughed up blood; his old bones couldn't take much more punishment. Fortunately, he had escaped in time, otherwise, it wouldn't have been just a few broken ribs for him.
But he couldn't understand why the Adeptus Mechanicus would rebel against the Imperium!
It clearly shouldn't be possible with just them alone!
He had even observed their movements during the entire Horus Heresy, and the current situation seemed off to him!
"This..... isn't right... ah..... the plan wasn't like this...." a voice said weakly.
Static came from inside the ruined room; a High Lord, whose body was crushed by debris, stared blankly at the ceiling above. Hearing this, Malcador's frown deepened with concern.
Before he could think too much about it, Terra's entire defense system began to blare an ear-splitting alarm throughout the planet.
Beep!!!
All radars and orbital monitoring devices detected a massive fleet emerging from a Warp rift above.
In the void above Terra, countless points of light gradually revealed themselves as Mechanicum warships approaching. These warships were entirely covered in rust-colored panels and flickering red runes; their huge and grotesque hulls resembled steel beasts from nightmares.
Immediately following this, from the bellies of these warships, swarms of landing craft and massive drop pods began to detach from their motherships, rapidly plummeting towards Terra's surface below.
Swish, swish, swish!!
The surface of each drop pod was carved with Adeptus Mechanicus runes, emitting a dazzling red light as they fell.
As they crashed to the ground, their steel shells quickly opened up, and countless mechanized soldiers poured out like a tide, repeating their commands mechanically.
"Hand over the Void Dragon! Hand over the Omnissiah!"
"Hand over the Void Dragon! Hand over the Omnissiah!"
"..."
These soldiers were tall and cold in appearance, their bodies composed of complex gears and alloys, wielding glowing red weapons in their hands.
Accompanying their descent were giant Titans of war.
These behemoths stomped across the land, emitting deafening roars, each step causing the ground to tremble violently beneath their weight.
Malcador steadied himself against the rubble around him. However, what horrified Malcador the most was a snake-shaped spaceship in the sky above.
