Chapter 197: "Agricultural Planet"
As the drop pods approached the surface of the agricultural planet, what had initially looked like vast green fields, lush farmlands, and verdant wheat fields seemed to shimmer with the light of hope under the sun.
"Hahaha! Enough for us to eat for several months!" Abaddon was ecstatic. "Lord Francis is simply a genius; the grains can grow so big! Lord Francis's strategic deployment is nothing more than this!"
It seemed Francis was not a good strategist.
Their eyes were filled with greed until their shadows covered the ground below, and then they saw giant wheat ears raise their heads, revealing the Ork Boyz's heads underneath. They scratched their heads with puzzled expressions and said, "It probably won't hit me, right? The boss said we're organic Orks, zero emissions, and no pollution!"
Apparently, those "lush green" plants were not simple vegetation, but dense, swarming Ork Boyz; they had hair like green wheat ears, and their bodies were unusually tall, clearly much larger than typical Orks.
Immediately, Abaddon and the Chaos Warriors, seeing this scene, all roared with immense fury.
"Beasts! Using a planet as bait, just to lure us in! Cunning villains!" one shouted.
"Too despicable!" another cried.
"Ram them! Ram them all!" they roared.
"Blood for Blood God, Skull for Skull throne," They roared incessantly, blood and tears streaming from their eyes, for this was a betrayal of their emotions, a heinous crime.
Rumble~
However, by an unfortunate coincidence, the Ork Boyz collectively farted, causing a large amount of gas to settle at the bottom of the air. The original air, under pressure, gradually rose and, upon reaching the cold air, underwent drastic changes in the planet's atmospheric currents.
The atmosphere churned violently. A hurricane suddenly blew up, ultimately causing the drop pods, which were initially heading towards the Orks, to completely deviate from their trajectory and plunge into a nearby pile of discarded rocks.
"Damn it!" They could only rage in impotent fury, angrily smashing the glass.
Hiss~
All drop pod doors opened, and the Black Legion warriors swiftly leaped out, like a black storm. Clad in heavy armor, their weapons gleaming with cold light, the warriors' eyes were firm, filled with endless rage. Each one knew that this was a scam.
Lord Francis was too cunning; they must destroy this place to make their displeasure known.
But as soon as they came out, they felt as if the sky had darkened above them. From all directions, swarms of gigantic figures rapidly approached, obscuring the sky like surging green waves.
These figures were tall, with bulging muscles and ferocious Ork faces, wielding various ancient and crude weapons, emitting chilling growls and war cries.
"Brothaaa', charge! They're here to harvest the wheat again!" an Ork called.
"Waaaaaaagh!" the horde roared.
Each Ork warrior was about four meters tall, with muscles and rough skin covering his entire body, exuding a primitive and savage aura.
"Uh... I remember regular Orks are usually as tall as us, aren't they?" a Black Legion warrior murmured, seemingly unable to fully comprehend the strange sight before him.
"What... what the hell is this?!" Another warrior gripped the battle-axe in his hand tightly, clearly also somewhat bewildered.
But before he finished speaking, the giant Orks swarmed around them, roaring, "Who got it?! Whose is it! Waaaaaagh!"
Seeing the enemy charging, Abaddon roared fiercely, "Keep your spirits up, the Black Legion is invincible!"
Each swing of the daemon sword brought with it the sound of tearing air, and those four-meter-tall Ork warriors, before they could even let out a deafening roar, were cut open by the sword with tireless power. Blood sprayed, flesh tore, and bodies flew like broken kites, crashing heavily to the ground, splashing up a spray of dirt and gore.
"Hmph! Nothing more than this! No matter how big, they're still Orks!" Abaddon shouted. "They're nothing to worry about!"
But behind him, the painful screams of the Chaos Warriors still echoed.
"Ah ah ah!" voices cried.
"Ah! Despicable!" others screamed.
They wielded warhammers or plasma guns, fighting desperately against the Orks, but the enemy's numbers made them challenging to contend with. Some Chaos Warriors, while swinging their heavy weapons, were knocked flying by the Orks' fierce strength, falling to the ground heavily, or even having their spines instantly broken.
"No! Damn it!" A Chaos Warrior, seeing this, was about to provide support when he was struck in the chest by a giant Ork axe. The sound of bones breaking echoed, and his scream was like the howl of prey, urgent and painful.
He struggled to stand up, but was then kicked violently by another Ork warrior, falling heavily to the ground, blood overflowing from his mouth.
Abaddon. "..."
Seeing this, Abaddon quickly returned to support, continuously swinging his sword and hacking at the Orks. Despite his fierce battle, the surrounding Chaos Warriors continued to endure painful trials.
At the same time, angry roars came from afar.
"I told you the wheat wasn't ripe! The wheat isn't ripe! And you still come to pick it! Now pick the wheat, Boy!" a voice shouted.
Sentinels emerged from the fields. Several Cadian assault troops warriors drove their Sentinels, cursing and grumbling as they approached, but when they clearly saw the appearance of the other side, they froze.
They cursed the wrong people.
Seeing this, Abaddon couldn't care less and immediately charged out, roaring, "Don't let them get away!"
Just as he thought the mortals opposite would flee, several rockets flew directly at his face. He fiercely cleaved the projectiles away with a single sword swing.
Immediately after, these Cadian warriors, piloting their Sentinels, charged forward. Powerful firepower erupted instantly, heavy turrets firing barrages that shook the heavens, their energy shockwaves scattering through the air.
Unfortunately, Abaddon easily dodged the first wave of attacks, his daemon sword drawing a perfect arc in the air before fiercely striking the side of one of the Sentinels. The fragile armor was utterly unable to withstand the blade, the heavy steel was instantly torn in half, and the Sentinel broke in the middle, practically exploding right in front of Abaddon.
However, this did not instill fear in the Cadian warriors. Instead, it further fueled their resolve.
"Cadia Chargeee!" they shouted.
"Death to the traitors of the Imperium!" others cried.
They shouted, their voices impassioned. They never feared death; they only wanted to protect their homeland. So they would never retreat.
Even though their Sentinels were severely damaged, and flames consumed their outer shells, they still pushed their war machines forward with all their might, charging ahead.
Abaddon slightly raised his daemon sword, preparing to cleave the approaching Sentinel with a single strike. Still, in that instant, within the Sentinel's cockpit, the Cadian warrior's eyes were filled with determination and defiance.
Just as the two were about to make contact, the Cadian warrior abruptly pressed the self-destruct button.
Rumble!
The Sentinel's interior exploded instantly, vaporizing the Cadian warrior inside completely. His last words were, "Damn it, I knew I shouldn't have left the synthetic eggs..."
The massive shockwave violently repelled Abaddon, his armor emitting a dull metallic clang. Although Abaddon did not fall, he was clearly affected by the sudden explosion, his body swaying slightly, and blood seeping from the seams of his armor.
The others, seeing this, charged forward with bloodshot eyes, roaring, "Hmph! So you're the hero, Boy!"
"Exactly!" another agreed.
The huge commotion quickly attracted the attention of other Cadian defenders. Hundreds of Leman Russ Battle Tanks and three or four Imperial Knights charged over.
Abaddon stared. "Noo..."
...
Meanwhile, on another agricultural planet, Lucius, with the Cohors Nasicae and the Noise Marines, was also surrounded by a group of Orks.
The difference was that these Orks had tendrils resembling pea vines growing from the tops of their heads, reaching out and fanning into the air. Some Orks even had large pea pods already formed on their heads.
Lucius, the Cohors Nasicae, and the Noise Marines. "..."
Just as they thought they had been tricked and began to fight, Lucius cried out in terror.
"What the hell is this? Everyone, don't touch the vines!" he warned desperately.
However, his warning came a little too late. The moment the tendrils touched them, a violent paralysis spread from the point of contact through their bodies. Their bodies felt as if they were bound, their movements became sluggish, and all their strength seemed to be drained away.
Lucius fiercely stabbed his own thigh, and his body gradually recovered. He then began pulling others back.
However, just as the Noise Marines' noise began, the tendrils on the Orks' heads grew even faster, directly lunging at them.
Lucius's eyes practically shot fire as he saw this, and he roared furiously, "Stop holding back! If you keep playing, we'll all be wiped out! Damn it!"
Some Chaos Warriors who couldn't be rescued were fiercely absorbed by the pea Orks completely.
They fought and retreated...
...
On the battleship, Lorgar watched their disastrous robbery attempt, then turned to look at another screen where the Word Bearers were battling Orks with giant tomatoes and spinach on their heads.
Even when the Word Bearers unleashed psychic lightning, the crops on the enemies' heads seemed to grow considerably larger. When the Word Bearers tried to summon daemons, they found that they couldn't sacrifice these Ork bodies.
Lorgar stared blankly at these scenes, murmuring, "Is this still the Imperium?"
Lorgar's decaying mind slowly began to turn, and he gradually recalled. "Ah~ I'm supposed to save Fulgrim! Right!"
Originally, they were going to strike Cadia directly... Then he looked up again in the direction of Cadia, where there were at least a dozen more such "agricultural planets."
Lorgar sighed deeply. "...Sighh, why does nothing go right with chaos, it feels wrong!"
He ordered the entire fleet to return immediately; they were going to pass directly through here.
Upon receiving the message, the Black Legion's morale plummeted, but at that moment, Abaddon stood up again, holding a large handful of wheat ears and shouting, "Don't lose heart, everyone! Our objective has been achieved! We don't need to kill all Orks to prove our glory! This is a victory for the Black Legion!"
....
Meanwhile, in the laboratory aboard the Abyss Howl, a pair of enormous purple eyes suddenly lit up.
