Chapter 39 - chapter 39

Chapter 39: the order

Elias hovered just above the deck of the Black Pearl, his feet barely touching the air, wrapped in light, power, and purpose. The wind moved around him in quiet awe. The sea had gone silent—watching.

The Drowned King stood tall amidst the broken waves, his tentacles shifting restlessly. That grotesque smile had faded now, replaced by something far more primal.

Fear.

Elias raised his hand slowly and then—snapped his fingers.

The sound echoed across the sea like a divine command.

And then… they came.

From the clouds, from the mist, from the farthest edges of death itself—they emerged.

A fleet of ghost ships. Ancient vessels of every shape and size, their sails torn, their hulls scorched, but their flags high. Some glowed blue like moonlight, others burned with green fire. But all bore the same mark—

The mark of the ones who had died fighting the Drowned King.

The old pirate fleet.

They flew across the air and sea like phantoms, forming a massive arc behind the Black Pearl. Thousands of spirits, armed and armored, lined the decks—ghosts of the greatest pirate captains to ever sail the oceans.

Dead eyes gleamed.

Swords were drawn.

Cannons glowed with spectral flame.

They awaited one thing—a signal.

Elias floated down, his boots finally touching the Black Pearl's deck. The glow around him dimmed slightly, focused now into his eyes, his voice, his breath.

He turned, slowly, toward Jake.

The captain stared at him, eyes wide. His hand trembled slightly—until Elias smiled.

Soft. Brave. Calm.

"Give the order, Captain," Elias said gently.

Jake blinked.

And then a grin spread across his face—a grin of defiance, fury, and pirate pride.

He stepped forward, drawing his sword, and raised it high into the air.

"All hands!" he roared, voice shaking the sky.

"To war!"

The ghost fleet responded in unison with a thunderous war cry that shook the heavens.

The Drowned King screamed in fury, raising his arms as the sea surged around him like a monster unleashed.

And then—

The sky was torn by fire.

The sea lit up with magic and cannon fire.

The final battle had begun.
