Mei Xiaotong stepped foot into the Leng manor for the first time as she looked around. She couldn't help but feel overwhelmed as she felt goosebumps all over her as she looked at the fortress the Leng' family built calling it home. This isn't a home. It's a fortress.
"Welcome to our humble abode" Leng Yumo said. Mei Xiaotong looked at her in bewilderment
*Humble abode? You wish* she thought
"I would go make some snacks" the butler said
"Alright" Lu Jingyan said as the butler left to make some snacks
"You have the guts to live here" Mei Xiaotong whispered to Lu Jingyan as the latter nudged her telling her to shut up
"Don't be shocked by what you see of the Leng manor. This house is a warm cosy abode" Leng Yumo said smiling. Mei Xiaotong looked at her friend for confirmation but the latter didn't give her one
"Sister Xiaotong. The house is indeed warm" Lu Xinyan said
"Warm" Mei Xiaotong whispered underneath her breath
"You are back" they heard madam Leng voice rang from the stairs
"Granny cold" Leng Yumo calmed. Mei Xiaotong felt Intimidated by the sight of madam Leng. She felt so afraid of this woman.
Mei Xiaotong felt Instinctively to run but her legs stood glued to the ground she couldn't move
"Grandma" Lu Xinyan called smiling
"Xinyan. Are you okay?" Madam Leng asked
"Yes I am" Lu Xinyan said smiling. Mei Xiaotong knows that Lu Xinyan isn't afraid of anyone but once you showed him a cold side or demeanor he would be afraid of you and never loved you anymore.
"Grandma when did you come back?" Lu Jingyan asked
"Some minutes ago" Lu Jingyan replied. Mei Xiaotong wanted to leave this house. And if possible if she leaves she never wanted to come back her again but in the face of this woman she doesn't know how to make a sound
"Young missus. Young master asked you to bring this file to the office" the butler said
"I would drive you" Mei Xiaotong found her cue and wanted to escape
"Alright. Do visit us again" madam Leng said
"Yes madam. I would sure visit once more" Mei Xiaotong said as she picked up her bag and leave the house waiting for Lu Jingyan outside the front door
"How do you manage to live In that house?" Mei Xiaotong asked as soon as the car hit the main road
"The house isn't that bad. The house as Yumo called it is indeed the safest haven in the world" Lu Jingyan said
"That fortress?" Mei Xiaotong asked
"Really. That house isn't bad. Granny is the cold one. The cold one is Mrs Leng" Lu Jingyan said
"Really?" Mei Xiaotong asked "how is life in Leng manor?"
"Hectic. Yumo got poisoned some days ago" Jingyan said
"What? How? Who poison her?" Mei Xiaotong asked
"The funniest part is I was the one who made the food" Lu Jingyan said
"What? How would you poison Leng Yumo?" Mei Xiaotong asked
"It wasn't me who poison her. It was mother in law. Who would stop at nothing to oust me out of the house" Lu Jingyan said
"By poisoning the food of her daughter? In order to oust you out?" Mei Xiaotong asked
"True. And Leng Meixuan helped in it"
"Meixuan? That bitch? Of course she's do anything to ruin you" Mei Xiaotong said
"Have you registered your marriage yet?" Mei Xiaotong asked
"No. He said he has a lot to do so we would registered it once we are ready" Lu Jingyan said
"Once you are ready?" Mei Xiaotong asked her friend as she drove the car
