After the encounter with Angel's family, Zhang was invited for lunch. At first, he was perturbed. Not knowing what her parents were like. Though he admired them, he doesn't know if they would like him.
"It's just a treat outside."
"Aren't you bothered?" He asked, palms sweaty out of nervousness.
Weird, he hasn't felt this nervous since the last time since, his auditioning. It was because he was a young child of twelve, and people looked down on him, because he was short.
He was rejected because of his heights, by many agencies. That made his hopes crumble to ashes. Until he auditioned at Hua Hua agency. The agency that cared about talents, potentials and zeal.
He wasn't even nervous when he debuted. He wasn't even nervous during his first reality shows and many more that could throw others into uncertain hyperventilation.
But here he is, being all scared.
"Nope!" She answered, pulling him, away from his thoughts. "...in fact, I should bring more friends often." She grinned.
"Why's that?"
"Obvious, because, we hardly eat out. I can count the times we did, with my right hand."
That was the stupidest thing he has ever heard.
Absurd!
"You're lying, right?" He asked, hoping for it to be a lie. But that never happened, because she shook her head.
"My parents, especially my father, believed it's a waste of money. When we can just buy the food stuff at a cheaper rate in the market."
"Your father, is an economists."
"A very strict one at that, though he didn't study it as a field of study."
No one spoke for a full minute. Then, a chuckle broke the silence.
"We're not poor. Just economizing. We never can tell, who would rule this country in the future. Now hurry up. I've got some ice cream to buy." She said heading for the shelf, grabbing the keys, leaving him, to his privacy.
That was if he was honest, what he needs at least to soothe his over-flipping heart.

It was an enjoyable moment. Fun here and there. It was as if that day was made for them. Forgetting that someone has once escaped rape twice. Forgetting that someone almost have barely two weeks left to live.
The day was greatly felt that even the two was overwhelmed by the lightness of their hearts.
Zhang regretted why he was nervous in the first place.
It started as a tease, then about family background, then, the friendly chats. They not only talked like family, but as of they were long time friend. A friend that has known each other since, like forever.
But...
It was short-lived.
Fate!
It can be cruel at times, for it had other plans for them.
At the most enjoyable moment, the moment, Angel was waiting for, the ice cream moment, that was when he felt the most painful heart piercing pain he has ever felt.
"Ah!"
It was low, but his crush heard it.
She turned to him, "are you okay?"
He nodded. Believing, it would be the usual episodes of painful and sleepless nights. But this was the most painful of all he had experienced, even in his twenty eight years of living.
The car crash, was even better, because he had lost consciousness just immediately in the car, summersaults .
He had taken medicine before coming, and had taken it again, but the pain never reduced. It increased.
Another piercing cry, and a look at the concerned faces looking at him, before he lost count of everything.
